Jack D. Clark
Jack D. Clark, 49, of Clarksville died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, in Clinton.
A native of Bad Connstatt, Germany, he was a painter, carpenter and member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Jessica Wolfe of West Virginia and Jennifer Garcia of California; one son, Jeremy Wolfe of West Virgina; parents, Jim and Joan Clark of Clarksville; two sisters, Cindy Martin and Rena Baker, both of Clarksville; one brother, Aaron Clark of Clarksville; and one grandchild.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at River Valley Church of Christ with Mike Eppinette officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Tim Martin, Matt Martin, Jared Clark, Jason Clark, Ryan Roberts, and Aaron Clark.
Jessie Alene Huffty
Jessie Alene Huffty, 85, of Ozark died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home near Lamar.
She was a daughter of the late Henry Houston and Lilly Bell Suggs, native of Boxelder, Texas, former resident of Bastrop, La., where she was a member of the Calvary Southern Baptist church, a seamstress, and widow of Hardamon Hershy Huffty.
Survivors include four brothers, Albert Suggs of Ozark, Billy Suggs of Brownfield, Texas, Henry Lee Suggs of Schwartz, La., and J. R. Suggs of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Highland cemetery in Ozark. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Mickie Ann Hency
Mickie Ann Hency, 58, of Ozone died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Lee and Kathleen Adair Warren, and was preceded in death by an infant son.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Hency; two daughters, Charlene Knickerbocher of El Paso, Texas, and Corrinna Wallace of Indian Mound, Tenn.; three sons, Tony Havener and wife, Carol, of Plainview, Brian Hency of Clarksville, and Robert Allen Hency II of El Paso, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and J. C. Wheeler of Clarksville and Janice and Bob Wheeler of Ozone; one brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Sue Warren of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren, Tona Havener and Austin Hency, both of Clarksville, Darren Gillespie and Cheyenne Havener, both of Plainview, Cheyenne Knickerbocher of El Paso, Texas, and Lauren Wallace and Katlyn Wallace, both of Indian Mound, Tenn.; and one great-grandchild, Seth Castillo-Havener of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Sawyer officiating. Burial was in Russell cemetery at Ozone.
Active pallbearers were Kenny Dalton, Jason Smith, Rickey Dalton, Sam Stokes, Donnie Kimbriel, and Danny Malloy.
Honorary pallbearers were George Dalton and Jason McKee.
Raymond Bartlett Sr.
Raymond Allen Bartlett Sr., 31, of London died Friday, July 29, 2005, in Modesto, Calif.
He was a welder and was preceded in death by grandparents, Raymond Albert Bartlett Sr., Ned Minor and Jim Moore.
Survivors include two daughters, Brittany Cheyenne Bartlett of Modesto, Calif., and Alexis Nicole Bartlett of Coal Hill; one son, Raymond Allen Bartlett Jr. of Monticello; parents, Allen and Charlotte Bartlett of London; grandmothers, Imagene I. Bartlett of Calico Rock and Betty L. Miner of Clarksville; one sister, Kristina Renee Armstrong of Beebe; one brother, Daniel Ray Bartlett of London; and numerous, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charlie Boone officiating. Burial was in Carter cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Daniel Ray Bartlett, Bobby L. Hall, Ricky L. Harp, Raymond Allen Bartlett Jr., Michael W. Harp, Jimmy John Moore, and Chris Marlow.

Alden Joe Cowan
Alden Joe Cowan, 81, of Salus died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at his home.
He was a farmer, member of the Masonic Lodge in Swain for 30-plus years, son of the late Joe and Betty Cowan; and was preceded in death by five sisters, Erna, Minnie, Mattie, Bell and Alpha; and four brothers, Walter, Brock, Abe and Jack Cowan.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Rose Cowan; one son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Beverly Cowan of Broken Arrow, Okla.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the Salus Church with Rev. Clayton Rylee officiating.
Burial was in Case cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were James Parsons, Bo Mack, Dude Hammons, Brett Cook, Jeff Fouts, and Dale Cowan.
Carl Lee Pitts
Carl Lee Pitts, 30, of Ozark died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Cleveland.
He was a native of Clarksville, employee of Nabors Drilling Company and attended Mountain Home Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children, Gregory Aaron Pitts, Karley Diane Pitts, and Kadence N. Pitts, all of Ozark; father and stepmother, Jerry and Lynn Pitts of Lamar; mother and stepfather, Judy and Gary Owens of Atkins; four sisters, Christina M. Pitts of Pelsor, Diana Mae Pitts of Atkins, and Christy Haynes and Brandy Haynes, both of Scranton; one brother, Jeremy Burns of Scranton; and the mother of his children, Kristy Campbell of Ozark.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Hank Duvall officiating. Burial was at Bells Chapel.
Pallbearers were Jeremy (Buzz) Burns, Joshua Hogue, Mike Sights, Bobby Thomas, Dwayne Bishel, and Frankie Lynn McCain.
John Weber Hern
John Weber Hern, 78, of Knoxville died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Atkins, son of the late Rufus and Stacy Adams Hern, United States Army veteran, welder and a Baptist.
Survivors are his wife, Earline Hern; one daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Richard Galvan of Hartman; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Ernest Hern of Knoxville, Danny and Edna Hern of Clarksville, Donnie and Donna Hern of Hartman, and Kenneth and Brenda Hern of Ozone; two adopted daughters, April Hern of Hartman and Denise Goodin of Clarksville; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Ada Hern, Paulette Hern, Parlee Wilson, and Jane and Shawn Rodriquez, all of Hartman; two brothers, Gene Hern and Floyd Hern, both of Hartman; 20 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Hartman Baptist Church with Rev. Grady Glass officiating.
Burial was in Hartman cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Loretta H. Cantrell
Loretta Hammonds Cantrell, 93, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at her home.
She was a native of Clarksville but had resided in California since the mid-1930s and was a beautician for 55 years prior to retiring at the age of 88 years.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Ronald Walker; one son, Thomas Reed Cantrell Jr. and wife, Susan R.; and one grandchild, Thomas Reed Cantrell III.
Services were at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Escondido, Calif.
