Henry Mitchell Holt

Henry Mitchell Holt, 60, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, at his home.
He was a son of the late Anna Mae Morgan Holt and John Amos Holt Sr., employed in logging and farming, and was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Thelma Holt; and four brothers, Edgal, John Jr., Dorvin and Lloyd Lee Holt.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Lucille Smith Holt; two daughters, Theresa Lucille Holt of Springdale and Sheila Annette Martinez of Purdy, Mo.; three sons, Bryan Mitchell Holt of Oark, and Henry Gilbert and Lloyd Lee Holt, both of Clarksville; three sisters, Ruby Peacock of Omaha, Glenna Young of Fayetteville, and Mary Viera of Little Rock; two brothers, Harry Holt of Elm Springs and Kenneth Holt of Decatur; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Holt and Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Lamar cemetery.
Pallbearers were Guillermo Martinez, Eliser Gonzalles, Gary Gene Young, Ray Young, Danny Young, and Darrell Arnold.

Hurlon Dean Moore

Hurlon Dean Moore, 69, of Clarksville died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at his home.
He was a retired construction employee and a Baptist.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Kay and Jody Copeland of Lamar and Tracy Rene and Brit Yount of Clarksville; two sisters, Ava Davis of Booneville and Beulah Shoper of Harrisburg; one brother, Harvin Moore of Wichita, Kan.; and three grandchildren, Christopher H. Copeland, Carly Copeland, and Britni Young.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Roller-Cox Chapel with Rev. Clayton Rylee officiating. Burial will be in Oark cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be James Davis, Wayne Turner, Everett Turner, Don Wages, Rickey Wages, and Donnie Cowell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dane Arbaugh, Jerry Don Havener, Larry Morland and Freddy Shatwell.

Jessie Alene Huffty

Jessie Alene Huffty, 85, of Ozark died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home near Lamar.
She was a daughter of the late Henry Houston and Lilly Bell Suggs, native of Boxelder, Texas, former resident of Bastrop, La., where she was a member of the Calvary Southern Baptist church, a seamstress, and widow of Hardamon Hershy Huffty.
Survivors include four brothers, Albert Suggs of Ozark, Billy Suggs of Brownfield, Texas, Henry Lee Suggs of Schwartz, La., and J. R. Suggs of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Highland cemetery in Ozark. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

James T. Paxson

James Tyler Paxson, 90, of Little Rock, formerly of Clarksville, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at Parkview Rehab.
A native of Knoxville, he was a son of the late James Brinkley and Ada Adams Paxson, member of Clarksville First United Methodist Church, graduate of Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, served ten years active duty as a captain in the U. S. Navy and 20 years in the Navy Reserves, veteran of World War II and Korean War, and a former salesman for Capitol Steel Company and later owner of Confederate Steel Company of Little Rock. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Paxson and Willie Brinkley.
Survivors are four cousins, Tarry Paxson of Knoxville, James Paxson of Clarksville, Ronnie Paxson of Washington, and Shirley Morgan of Wyoming.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at Knoxville cemetery with Rev. Steve Wingo officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Mart Stepp Jr.

Mart Stepp Jr., 83, of Hartman died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Hartman, son of the late Effie Lovell and Mart Stepp Sr., Army veteran of World War II, retired heavy equipment operator, member of the Disabled Veterans Association, and was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Stepp; five brothers, Dwight, Leo, Ray, Cecil and Darel Stepp; and one sister, Myrtle Johnson.
He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Duane and Deloris Stepp of Hartman; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Holt officiating. Burial was in West Mount Zion cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leo Stepp, Wendell Lee, Darel Timmerman, Aaron Stepp, Sheldon Stepp, and Ben Stepp.

Mary Yarbrough

Mary Yarbrough, 77, of Clarksville died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at her home.
She and her late husband, Lloyd Yarbrough, were peach growers in Johnson County and she was past president of the Arkansas Horticulture Society. Before moving to Arkansas in 1974, she was the Selective Service director in Lovington, N. M. She was a lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Hamzy; and two brothers, Russell and Jim Sherrow.
She is survived by one son, Joe Hamzy and wife, Linda, of Arlington, Texas; one daughter, Carol Schultz and husband, Larry, of Deming, N. M.; four grandchildren, Kevin Hamzy, and Mike, Melissa and Matt Schultz; two great-grandchildren, Josh and Ellie Hamzy; two brothers, Joe Dillin and Pete Sherrow; and six sisters, Gladys Keith, who was also her caregiver and companion; Ruby West, Beverly Cacioppo, Phyllis Watson, Bonnie Arthur and Janis Robinson.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel. The body was cremated.
Memorials may be made to the University of the Ozarks Scholarship Fund, 415 College Avenue, Clarksville, AR 72830 or Johnson County Hospice.

Rhea Ashmore

Rhea Ashmore, 95, of Russellville, whose son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Linda Ashmore, reside in Clarksville, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at Russellville Nursing Center.
She was a native of Jerusalem, member of First Baptist Church in Russellville, employee of International Shoe Company for 16 years, and was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Ashmore; one daughter, Pat Minor; one grandson, Tim Durham; and parents, brothers and sisters.
Other survivors include one daughter, Sue Durham and husband, Courtney, of Anniston, Ala.; son-in-law, Earl Minor of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Andy Durham of Anniston, Ala., and Todd Minor and Trisha Minor, both of Houston, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, James, Stacy and Cody Minor, all of Houston, Texas.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville with Dr. Stephen Davis officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 200 South Denver, Russellville, AR 72801.

Rose Marie Redding

Rose Marie Redding, 57, of Clarksville died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
She was a native of San Angelo, Texas, graduate of Richardson High School in Richardson, Texas, employee of Flying J Restaurant at Russellville, former employee of Sara Lee Hosiery in Clarksville, member of White House Tabernacle Church in Paris but was presently attending First Baptist Church in Clarksville, and was preceded in death by her father, William Hugh Speer; and one daughter, Margo Redding.
Survivors include one son, Brian Redding and wife, Jamie, of Springfield, Mo.; mother, Rossana Hopper of Clarksville; three brothers, Frank M. Speer and wife, Elizabeth, of Arlington, Texas, Dale Edward Speer of San Angelo, Texas, and Richard K. Speer of Hermitage, Tenn.; and two grandchildren, Michael and Andrea Redding of Springfield, Mo.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with burial at St. Joseph cemetery in Paris.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
