Fern Ann Hess
Fern Ann Hess, 89, of Jasper died Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Jasper Nursing Home.
She was a native of Limestone, daughter of the late John Preston and Sara Elizabeth Sparks Robinson, widow of James Carey Hess, and Baptist.
Survivors include one son, Carey Lee Hess; one sister, Pearl Criner of Jasper; one niece, Marilyn Campbell of Springfield, Mo.; and one nephew, Jay Hess of Lucas, Iowa.
Graveside services and burial were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 23, at Essex cemetery at Limestone with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Harry Carl Allam
Harry Carl Allam, 80, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Topeka, Kan.
He was a native of Lamar, son of the late Forrest and Rose Sawyer Allam, owner and operator of Carl Allam Oil in Hutchinson, Kan., for 25 years, and was preceded in death by two brothers, WR (Bill) Allam Sr. and Bedford (Buck) Allam.
Survivors include one son, Eric Allam of Lawrence, Kan; one daughter, Christine Allam of Costa Mesa, Calif.; one granddaughter, Ashleigh Allam of Lawrence, Kan.; two nieces; and two nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, at Laurel cemetery in Haven, Kan., under the direction of Ott Funeral Home.

Janice Renee Benson
Janice Renee Benson, 50, of Howe, Okla., sister of Sherrie Mathews of Clarksville, died Monday, July 19, 2010, in Howe, Okla.
She was a native of Tulsa, Okla., daughter of the late Walter E. and Betty J. Cramer Gregory, and was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Eddie Gregory III.
She is survived by three other sisters, June Hunt of Perry, Okla., Lorine K. Bozarth of Gage, Okla., and Dorine Smallwood of Heavener, Okla.; and companion, Jim White of Howe, Okla.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, Okla.
Lee Roy Dickerson
Lee Roy Dickerson, 82, of Woodward, Okla., died Sunday, July 18, 2010, in Enid, Okla.
He was a native of Coal Hill, son of the late Olin and Ollie Ogden Dickerson, graduate of Clarksville High School, served in the Merchant Marines, was employed by Tidwell Construction, Haines Construction and Rangers Construction as a pipeline superintendent prior to retirement, and was preceded in death by three children, Mike, Leanna, and Sharon; and one brother, Larry.
Survivors include his wife, Leanna Jean Moore Dickerson; one daughter, Saunnie Thompson of Woodward, Okla.; one sister, Betty Jo Foulke and husband, Lester, of Texarkana, Texas; grandchildren, Robert Cody Thompson, Amber Rinehart, Sabra Donley, and Terri Paurich; two great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Charlene Dickerson.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 23, at Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Barros officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date.
Melvin West
Melvin West, 58, of Los Angeles, Calif., formerly of Clarksville, died July 17, 2010, at his home.
He was a Jehovah's Witness, son of the late Rev. and Mrs. George (Myrtle Newton) West Sr., and was preceded in death by one brother, Alfred Joe West Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Reba West; seven children, Monique Brown, Terry Gocha, Jejuana Johnson, Marendo, Lecoiyan, Shekwan and Keyonica West and five grandchildren, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Geraldine Kelco and husband, Timothy, of Kansas City, Mo., and Frances Shurn and husband, Lowesta, of Clarksville; and four brothers, George West Jr. and wife, Joann, of Sacramento, Calif., Rev. Thelbert Lee West and wife, Mattie, of Eufaula, Ala., Winfred West and wife, Selma Cotton, of Fayetteville, and John West and wife, Mary, of Clarksville.
The body was cremated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 31, in Los Angeles, Calif.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Shrilda K. Nowotny
Shrilda K. Nowotny, 33, of Ozark died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at UAMS Hospital in Little Rock.
She was a native of Texas and daughter of the late James T. Lancaster.
Survivors include one son, William Lee Ray Nowotny of Ozark; two sisters, Sherry K. Lancaster of Middleton, Texas, and Stacey K. Owens of Coal Hill; and one brother, Roy G. Lancaster of Clarksville.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Morris officiating. Burial will be in Hartman cemetery.
Alan Kurt Parker
Alan Kurt Parker, 51, of Clarksville died Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at his home.
He was a retired truck driver, Army veteran and of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Jody Chamberlain of Clarksville; one son, Shawn Alan Parker of Van Buren; parents, Harley H. Parker and Barbara A. Pratt Parker of Hunt; one sister, Pamela M. Parker of Coal Hill; two brothers, Bradley S. Parker of Clarksville and Leland K. Parker of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two nephews, William A. Pointer Jr. and Dylan B. Parker; and two nieces, Harlena Montgomery and Mekenzie Parker.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Noggle officiating. Burial was in Liberty Hill cemetery at Hunt.
Active pallbearers were Larry Huff, Clark James, Travis Pelts, David Davidson, Lloyd Parker, and Gary Bosnick.
Honorary pallbearers were William Pointer Jr., Randy Pointer, Dylan Parker, and Mike Parton.
Visitation was from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Anna Belle Carter, 76, of Coal Hill died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Ozark.
She was a native of Castle, Okla, daughter of the late Jesse E. Matthews and Inez Fox McCarley, widow of Robert Lee Carter, retired nurses aide, of the Holiness faith, and was preceded in death by one grandson, Joshua Carter; two sisters, an infant and Hazel Edwards; and one brother, James Matthews.
Survivors are one daughter, Carolyn Gay of Clarksville; two sons, Eddie Carter and Ron Carter, both of Hunt; two sisters, Evelyn Reynolds of Pennsylvania and Betty McCartney of Michigan; two brothers, Fred Matthews of California and Joe McCarley of Lamar; sister-in-law, Lois Erixson of Coal Hill; brother-in-law, Junior Carter and wife, Vickie, of Coal Hill; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Zeiler and Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Hartman cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Marty Dalton, Gary Edwards, Lloyd Parker, Gary Bocksnick, John Gowers, and Ricky Kimbriel.
Honorary pallbearers were Quinton Johnson and Michael Chad Malaska.
