Thomas M. Pascale
Thomas Michael Pascale, 53, of Fort Smith, a native of Clarksville, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at his home.
He was a son of the late Charles and Marjorie Devine Pascale and a veteran of the Marine Corps. He attended Augusta Military Academy in Fort Defiance, Va., the American International High School in New Delhi, India, Yuba College in California and Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave, Va.
Survivors include two brothers, Steven Pascale of Altus and Charles Pascale of Harrisonburg, Va.; and one sister, Shirley Shelby of Springdale.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.

Vera V. North
Graveside services and burial for Vera Varnell North, 78, of Pleasant Hill, Mo., who died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at Pleasant Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at the Minnow Creek cemetery north of Lamar with Rev. Terry Cameron officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Stanley and Son Funeral Home of Pleasant Hill, Mo.
She was a native of Lamar, daughter of the late Thomas Jackson and Norma Dean Collier, widow of James Alfred North Jr., and was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Collier Jr. and Nobel Raygene Collier; and one sister, Vivian Ruth.
Survivors include one daughter, Rita North; one son, Toni Alfred North and wife, Karen; one stepson, James Wesley North and wife, Linda; one granddaughter, Kay; one step-granddaughter, Sharon; two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Shelby; and one sister, Jessie Collier North Borron.
Alexis Flores
Alexis Flores, 3, of Clarksville died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at his home.
He was a native of Clarksville.
Survivors include his father, Hector Flores of Clarksville; mother, Maria Garcia of Clarksville; paternal grandparents, Santiago Flores and Candelaria Marrufo of Clarksville; and maternal grandparents, Benjamin Garcia and Rosa Vecerra of Clarksville.
Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Rev. William Wewers, O.S.B., officiating.
Burial was in Holy Redeemer Catholic cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Noel Galan, Noel Flores, Miguel Orralde, and Raul Galan.
Eunice W. Kraus
Eunice Elsie White Kraus, 89, a lifelong resident of Johnson County, died Monday, October 31, 2005 at the Johnson Regional Medical Center in Clarksville, Arkansas.
Born October 11, 1916, in the town of Zadoc, Arkansas (Woods Mountain Area), her family moved to the Little Piney area in her late teens, where in 1936, she met Allie Kraus. After a few horseback arrivals for courtship, he was meant to be her future husband of sixty-six years. Her career as a homemaker began when they married
on January 8, 1939. She and Allie had a daughter, Oleta Allene on April 19, 1940. They made their home at Slate Hill as farmers in 1949. On April 22, 1957, they had a son, Markey Don. In 1959, they moved to Clarksville and have since resided on Maple Street. While living in Clarksville, Eunice enjoyed babysitting, gardening, canning, sewing and quilting. She also taught herself how to play the piano. She and Allie became active members of the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in 1956. She and Allene were choir members, and Allie served as Sunday school treasurer for 33 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Bruce and Minnie Young White, two sisters, Alvie White and Evelyn (Evie) Garrison, and three brothers, William Perry White, Elmer White and Archie White.
Survivors of this precious soul are her husband, Joseph Allie Kraus of Clarksville, Arkansas, daughter and son-in-law, Allene and Bill Hutchins of Hagarville, Arkansas, son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jo Karen Kraus of Hartman, two grandsons, Donnie and Ronnie Hutchins of Hagarville, Arkansas, three granddaughters, Joy Mason of Heber Springs, Joelle Brown of Coal Hill, Arkansas and Jo Susan Kraus of Hartman, Arkansas, one step-granddaughter, Terri Freppon of Bald Knob, one great-granddaughter, Olivia Mason of Heber Springs, three great-grandsons, C. J. and Isaac Mason of Heber Springs, Arkansas and Malachi Brown of Coal Hill, Arkansas, one step-great-granddaughter, Mica Freppon at Bald Knob, Arkansas, one step great-grandson, Phillip Freppon of Bald Knob, Arkansas and another great-grandchild soon to be and also numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 4, 2005 at the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Clarksville with Pastor Vernon Bass officiating. Burial was at Annie's Chapel cemetery in Hagarville with arrangements by Roller-Cox Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Eric Brown, Cody Mason, L. J. Simms, Jim White, Larry White and Jerry Woodard. Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Ashlock, David Freppon, Wendell Lee, Mike Mee, Wayne Pyron, Huey Simpson, Bill Stewart, Rip Teal, Bob White and Bill White.
Erta Lee Shrigley
Erta Lee Shrigley, 97, of Clarksville died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at the Methodist Nursing Home in Fort Smith.
She was a native of Coal Hill, daughter of the late William Elias and Bonna Gusta Jaggers Shrigley, graduate of the University of the Ozarks, attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, former elementary teacher at Coal Hill, member of the First Presbyterian Church at Clarksville, and was an executive secretary in Oklahoma City, Okla., for several years.
She is survived by one sister, Maxine S. Blakely of Clarksville; two nieces, Pam Jones of Clarksville and Marian S. Rathbun of Vian, Okla.; and one nephew, Bill Shrigley of Clarksville.
Graveside services and burial were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Oakland cemetery with Rev. Lance Jones officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Helen L. Mitchell
Helen L. Mitchell, 83, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Franklin County, daughter of the late William Robert and Josie Green Pipkins, widow of B. F. Mitchell Jr., attended Grenades Chapel Church and graduated from Hartman High School.
She is survived by four sisters, Winnie Highfill of Hartman, Faye Roble and Lexie Wyers, both of Clarksville, and Velda Sallis of North Little Rock; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel with Rev. Phil Sturdy officiating. Burial was in Liberty Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bobby Mitchell, Guy Sallis, Greg Sallis, Gerald Sallis, Bill Wyers, and Paul Keith Pipkins.
Jewell L. Clayborn
Jewell L. Clayborn, 71, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at her home.
She was a native of Mountainburg, daughter of the late Warren and Irene Davis Lane, widow of Kenneth (Hoopie) Clayborn, and was preceded in death by one son, Charles (Bud) Clayborn.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Griffith and Marie Clayborn, both of Clarksville; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Freda and Alfred Rigsby and Mary Lou and Archie Friddle, all of Mountainburg, and Pearl Rankin of Van Buren; one brother and sister-in-law, Pete and Brenda Lane of Mountainburg; two grandchildren, Rena Johnson of Lamar and Tara Griffith of Clarksville; one great-grandson, Brandon Griffith of Clarksville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at Hardwicke Funeral Home with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating. Burial was in Lamar cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kevin Reynolds, Jim Campbell, James Childers, Travis Johnson, Raymond Johnson, Billy Johnson, David Clayborn, and John Schmoker.
Joe Gene Williams
Joe Gene Williams, 64, of Oroville, Calif., died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Hinson and Leslie Privitt Williams, in 1957 moved with his family to Willows, Calif., graduated from Willows High School and served in the U. S. Marine Corps where he was stationed in Japan. While operating his own auto repair business, he attended Butte College and CSU Chico having received a degree in business administration. He moved to Oroville, Calif., in 1991, and retired from Hobbie Auto Center as the inventory manager in 2004.
He served as a Glenn County Supervisor for four years and was a member of the Willows Elks Club, the Glenn County Search and Rescue team, and the Kiwanis Club in Willows and Oroville. He taught hunter safety classes for many years and regularly participated in the "Hooked On Fishing Not Drugs" program for young people.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years Molly Williams; two sons, Brian and Rob; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Jerry Corbitt and Laura and Jon Remmerde; one brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Traci Williams; and 28 nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Scheer Memorial Chapel in Oroville, Calif.
