Robert Alvin Bly
Robert Alvin (Bob) Bly, 79, of Clarksville died Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at his home in Jamestown.
He was an Army veteran, 30-year coal miner, son of the late Zachariah and Rena Quick Bly, and was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Martha Lou Young Bly; and two brothers, Horace Bly and Zach Bly.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Butler Bly; three daughters, Sharon Reams and Sandra Engler, both of Russellville, and Glenda Caldwell of Knoxville; two sons, Daniel Bly and Antonio Bly, both of Clarksville; two stepchildren, Carol Jorgensen of Clarksville and Cindy Carrico of Antioch, Calif.; two sisters, Lavada Casey of Clarksville and Barbara Pharris of Little Rock; four brothers, David Bly of Denton, Texas, Bill Bly of Granbury, Texas, and Thomas Bly and Jim Bly, both of Heber Springs; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Roller-Cox Funeral Chapel with Aaron Beard and Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shane Beard, Aaron Beard, Travis Engler, Jim Bly, Michael Jorgensen, and James Siefert.

Virginia Gray Looney
Virginia Looney was born on November 27, 1925, in Scranton, Arkansas and died October 13, 2007, in Southaven, Mississippi. She was the third of Otis and Eala Gray's seven children. After graduating from Scranton High School she attended Draughons Business College in Little Rock, Arkansas. Subsequently she met and married
Walter B. Looney, her husband until his death in 1993. During his twenty year Air Force career, they were stationed in the Philippines, Canada, and at numerous bases around the United States. Along the way she had three children and earned a private pilot's license. In 1961, upon his retirement from the Air Force, she and Walter with partner Charlie Pennington co-founded Desoto Airpark, a private airport in Desoto County, MS. They built a business that included a maintenance facility, a charter service, and the largest flight school in the mid-south. In 1972, Virginia and Walter returned to Scranton, built a home on Lake Dardanelle and along with their son, Jim, started Aircraft Maintenance Center. The lake home became the center of all family activities. She spent extended summer vacations spoiling her beloved grandchildren, staged huge Fourth of July parties, and made her place the place to be for every holiday event. Virginia was a longtime supporter of St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, TN; a member of the Order of the Eastern Star; a local sponsor for foreign students at the University of the Ozarks; and a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Clarksville.
She is survived by brothers, James Gray, Bill Gray, Jerry Gray; sisters, Rubeline Tyler, Wilma Jane Rinkle; sons and wives, David and Elaine Looney, Jim and Carol Looney; daughter and husband, Joyce and Paul Williams; grandchildren, Randy Looney, Christine Looney Carle, Gail Knight White, Brady Knight, Kelsey Looney; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksville, AR from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16. The funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at First Baptist Church in Clarksville, AR. Burial to follow at Wares Chapel cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital or the First Baptist Church of Clarksville Building Fund.
Larry C. Martin
Larry Clifton Martin, 55, of Bentonville died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, in Bentonville.
A native of Fort Hood, Texas, he was a son of the late Arlene Reed Martin Griffith, former truck driver and employed by Professional Security, Inc., as a security guard.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Martin; one son, Larry C. Martin Jr. of Bentonville; two daughters, Michelle Rhoden of Bentonville and Misty Guffey of Bainbridge, Ga.; father, Clifton Martin of Vinita, Okla.; stepfather, James Griffith of Clarksville; three sisters, Debbie Baxter of Ozone, Ritta M. Basu of Naperville, Ill., and Rebecca Griffith of Hartman; one brother, Nolan Martin of Rogers; and four grandchildren, Amber Searcy, Mikie Rhoden, Joshua Guffey and Melanie Martin.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Oark cemetery with Rev. Dorsey Martin officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers.
Lucy E. Myers
Lucy E. Myers, 81, died Sept. 22, 2007, in Loma Linda Care Center in Loma Linda, Calif.
She was born and raised in the Spadra Community, daughter of the late Bell and Hugh Myers, and was preceded in death by one son, Larry Price Lynn, and one daughter, Debbie Price.
She is survived by one sister, Mary Lea Worley of Wilmington, Calif.; one brother, William James Myers of Yorba Linda, Calif.; two aunts, Mary Howard of the Spadra Community and Maggie Killingsworth of California; and one uncle, Curtis Bohannon of Harrison.
Burial will be in the Spadra cemetery at a later date.
Nancy Jane Abernathy Johnson
The family and friends of Nancy Jane Abernathy Johnson mourn her peaceful passing to be with Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, on September 27, 2007, in Dallas, Texas, after a short battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease. Nancy was born May 18, 1934, in Lubbock, Texas. She was a 1952 graduate of Lubbock High School. She married
Roy Johnson, her childhood sweetheart, on September 4, 1952.
Over the next 55 years together they climbed many hills, made many friends, and shared a wonderful life together. In all of Roy's business ventures, she never lost faith in him and put him first in everything each and every day.
Affectionately called "Sweet Mama" by her seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, she was a warm and gracious woman, a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, friend and community member. She was a generous host, an avid bridge player, a sharp-minded consultant in the family businesses, a world traveler, a skilled gardener, a red hat wearer and always an optimist. Nancy's positive, courageous, and down-to-earth spirit inspired all; her thoughtfulness and generosity resulted in wonderful and lasting friendships. Admired for her intellect, her sassy sense of humor, and her independent spirit, she lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed. It is with a heavy heart that her family and friends say goodbye. Her passing leaves a great void in the lives of all she touched.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Roy M. Johnson of Clarksville, AR; daughter, Roylene and her husband, Max Slaughter, of Clarksville, AR; son, Michael Johnson and his fiancee, Lisa Pillstrom, of Knoxville, AR; daughter, Penny and her husband, Tom Wolters, of Keller, TX; daughter, Tracy and her husband, Mitchell Todd, of Frisco, TX; grandchildren, Wayne, Shalane, Shelby, Cory, Parker, Marshall, and Jackson; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Caroline, and Lily; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Bill Cope of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law, Louise Abernathy of Lubbock, Texas; and 23 nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Doctor Lisa Labiche and the doctors and staff at Baylor Medical Center of Dallas for their efforts to diagnose her illness.

A celebration of Nancy's life was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at the First United Methodist Church in Clarksville with Rev. David Hanshaw officiating.
Burial was in Oakland cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Fred Dougan, Don Johnston, Rick Kent, Steve Fisher, Darrell Weathers, and Bill Verboon.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pansy Holloway
Pansy Holloway, 92, of Springdale, formerly of Coal Hill, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale.
She was born Sept. 17, 1915, at Alix, daughter of the late James and Jane Holmes Moore, widow of Roy (Dodd) Holloway, graduated from the University of the Ozarks in 1955 with a bachelor of arts degree in education, retired teacher from the Coal Hill and Altus schools where she taught for 34 years, former fifth and sixth grade math teacher and girls basketball coach eventually taking them to the state tournament. She was a member of the Coal Hill Methodist Church but after moving to Springdale she was active in the Peaceful Valley Bible Church where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed doing things for others and spent the last years of her life making hats for cancer patients eventually making a total of 275. She was preceded in death by siblings.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Hawk and husband, Don, of Ozark and June Vanhook and husband, Jack, of Springdale; four grandchildren, Donna Reinhard of St. Louis, Mo.; Debra June Volzer of Columbus, Ohio; John Vanhook of Rowlette, Texas; and Mark Vanhook of Springdale; one great-grandchild, Sarah Volzer; and one niece, Carolyn Clay of Subiaco.
Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Coal Hill cemetery with Rev. Bill Pettigrew officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Martha Randall
Martha Velda Jo Randall, 69, of Ozark died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at Mercy Hospital/Turner Memorial in Ozark.
She was a daughter of the late Troy and Dimie Davis Roberson, attended the Freewill Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one sister, Violet Marie Knox.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Randall; one daughter, Rene Morrison of Conway; one son, Troy Thomas Randall of Ozark; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Kendall cemetery north of Hartman with Steve Sawrie officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Paul Knox, Brandon Knox, Rick Noren, Michael Noren, Gus Waters and Harvey Waters.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
