Mary C. McDougal
Mary Catherine McDougal, 83, of West Memphis, widow of James O. McDougal Jr., died Monday, July 2, 2007, at Methodist Nursing Home in Fort Smith.
A daughter of the late Harry and Kate Monica McMahon Smith, she was a graduate of St. Scholastica High School, received her registered nursing degree at St. Edward's School of Nursing at Fort Smith and was employed for 19 years at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.
Survivors include one daughter, Bridget (Missi) Clark of Memphis, Tenn.; three sons, Father Jon McDougal, pastor of St. Boniface Catholic Church of Fort Smith, James F. McDougal of Southaven, Miss., and Mark McDougal and wife, Shellea, of West Memphis; one brother, Harry M. Smith and wife, Emma, of Coal Hill; one sister, Jane Harrison and husband, Don, of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Casey McDougal of West Memphis and Meaghen Clark and Andrew Clark of Memphis, Tenn.; several nephews and one niece.
Funeral mass was at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altus with Father Jon McDougal and Father Hillary Filiatreau, O. S. B., as celebrants.
Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pearl A. Hudson
Pearl A. Hudson, 86, of Tulsa, Okla., died July 6, 2007, in Tulsa, Okla.
A native of Lamar, she was a daughter of the late Eunice D. (Houston) and Pilot E. O'Neal Sr., widow of Leon E. Hudson Sr., member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 492, and was preceded in death by one son, Leon E. Hudson Jr.; three brothers, Casper, Waylon and Glen O'Neal; and one sister, Mary Schnitzius.
She is survived by one daughter, Sherrie Hudson of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Geraldine Felkins of Clarksville; and one sister-in-law, Ileen O'Neal of Tulsa, Okla.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, July 9, at Moore's Memory Chapel followed by burial at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, at Woodland cemetery north of Clarksville.
Robert M. Kodell
Robert Michael (Bob) Kodell, 60, of Cleveland, Tenn., died Thursday, July 5, 2007.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Frank and Clara Spanke Knoedel (Kodell), member of St. Therese Lisieux Catholic Church, financial advisor with Edward Jones Investments.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Barbara Lepel Kodell; two stepsons, Jerry Gould of Clarksville and Jody Gould and wife, Keren, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janelle and Gene Lazzo of Roeland Park, Kan., and Joan and John Rodemann of Jefferson City, Mo.; three brothers, Abbot Jerome Kodell, O. S. B., of Subiaco, Frank Kodell of Stafford, Texas, and Ralph Kodell and wife, Valerie, of Little Rock; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral mass was conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, at St. Therese Lisieux Catholic Church in Cleveland, Tenn., with Abbot Jerome Kodell, O. S. B., officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were Curt Duncan, Gary McDonald, Paul Hickman, Jim Fairweather, Becky Pelfrey, Vickie Chandler, and Debbie Lewis.
A white dove release ceremony on the lawn at the church concluded the service.
A memorial service was held at 6 p. m. Sunday, July 8, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Clarksville.

Ruth E. Hurst
Ruth E. Hurst of Coal Hill died Saturday, June 30, 2007, in Fort Smith.
She was a daughter of the late Frank and Sadie Cubb Carlisle, native of Henryetta, Okla., widow of Donald R. Hurst, retired cook for the Coal Hill School System, Methodist, member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, and was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Leslie Hurst and Rebecca Rinke Bramlett; and two brothers, Fred and Frankie Carlisle.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy L. Rinke of Coal Hill; two sons, Donald R. Hurst and wife, Bobbie, of Altus and Lloyd Hurst of Coal Hill; one sister, Mary Harbottle of O'Fallon, Mo.; one brother, Alfred Carlisle of Gary, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; and 21-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, at the Hess cemetery with Shelby Floyd officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Pallbearers were Rick Hurst, Randy Hurst, Jacob Hurst, Eric Hurst, Dustin Hurst, Michael Hurst, and Joe Rinke.
W. A. Glenn
W. A. Glenn, 82, of Tucson, Ariz., died Monday, July 2, 2007, in Tucson, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Glenn.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Carla Glenn and Frank and Ara Glenn, all of Clarksville; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, Jazmin Owens of Clarksville; and one nephew and one niece, Steve Smith and Minetta Berryman of Tucson, Ariz.
The body was cremated.
Eva Lee King
Eva Lee King, 91, of Clarksville died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at her home.
A native of London, she was a daughter of the late Sidney and Clara Chappell Gotcher, widow of Basil King, member and past elder and deacon of Harmony Presbyterian Church and past president of the Women's Association. She graduated from London High School in 1934, as salutatorian of her class, past member of the Harmony Stitch and Chatter Quilting Club, and was preceded in death by her twin brother.
She is survived by several cousins.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, July 2, at the Harmony Presbyterian Church with Rev. Burnett King and Rev. Bobby King officiating.
Burial was in Harmony cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Kenny Elkins, Carl Miller, Paul Gotcher, Pat Gotcher, Gaylord Miller, Burnett King, and Bobby King.

James B. Bernhard
James B. Bernhard, 68, of Altus died Friday, June 29, 2007, at the U. S. Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville.
He was a retired maintenance employee and U. S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Amanda Nolan of Altus; one son, John Nolan of Fayetteville; one grandchild, Aleigha Nolan; and companion, Teresa Odom of Altus.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, at the U. S. National cemetery in Fort Smith. Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Leonard E. Adams Sr.
Leonard Earl Adams Sr., 78, of Ozone died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at his home.
He was a son of the late James Henry and Vonnie Grace Harper Adams, veteran of the Korean War with a Presidential Unit Citation received during combat, and was preceded in death by one brother, Denver Adams.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Wilma V. Stewart Adams; two daughters, Brenda Sue Adams Freeman of Ozone and Priscilla Ann Adams Skaggs of Clarksville; one son, Leonard E. Adams Jr. of Vian, Okla.; two sisters, Shirley May Adams Jaramillo of Springdale and Marjorie Grace Adams Hudgens of Warner Robins, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Harleigh Freeman, Jacob Malachi Freeman and Kaleb Matthew Freeman, all of Ozone, and Dalton Cole Skaggs of Clarksville.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Friday, June 29, at the Sherman cemetery at Ozone. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Harley Freeman, Michael Skaggs, Brenda Freeman, Priscilla Skaggs, Wilma Adams, and Kaitlyn Freeman.
Honorary pallbearers were Jacob Freeman, Kaleb Freeman and Dalton Skaggs.
