Linda L. Seals

Linda L. Seals, 69, of Coal Hill died Thursday, June 28, 2007.
She was a daughter of the late Columbus and Cleo Neal Carlton, 1981 graduate of Arkansas Tech University with a bachelor of science degree in nursing, Catholic, registered nurse, and was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ulysses Seals; and two sisters, Alta Mosley and Jane Pickett.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheri Davis of Pottsville and Tonya Seals of Russellville; one son, Bob Seals of Coal Hill; four brothers, Lawrence Carlton of Salus, Lowell Carlton and Frank Carlton, both of Ozone and Bennie Carlton of Clarksville; two sisters, Alma Batchelder of Redding, Calif., and Barbra Thomas of Lenoir City, Tenn.; and two grandchildren, Megan Seals and Olivia Ford, both of Russellville.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, July 2, at St. Mary's cemetery in Altus with Father Bill Thomas officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Allene R. Gibson

Allene Ruble Gibson, 85, of London died Sunday, June 24, 2007, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Morrilton.
She was a native of London, daughter of the late Clarence Burl (Horse) and Maude Blalock Ruble, widow of James A. Gibson, former elementary teacher at Fairview School and store manager of House of Fabrics in Russellville prior to becoming employed at J. C. Penney's until her retirement. She was past worthy grand matron of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the London Methodist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Jerline Milligan and husband, Willard, of London; several nieces and nephews; and two great-nephews, Chris Ward and Greg Ward of London.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Humphrey Chapel with Rev. Jerry Schlinker officiating. Burial will be in Price cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jim Ed Gibson, Gary Ward, Chris Ward, Greg Ward, Willard Milligan and Chris Draggs.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the London Order of the Eastern Star, staff of Russellville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Bucky Croom and James Smith.

Gertrude E. Pitts

Gertrude Elizabeth Moffitt Pitts, 91, of Clarksville died Thursday, June 21, 2007.
She was a native of Enid, Okla., daughter of the late W. C. and Eva Caldwell Moffitt, widow of Coy Levi Pitts and Eldon Pitts, Baptist, and was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Carter; and one brother, J. C. Moffitt.
Survivors include four daughters, Bobbie Callahan and husband, Bill, of Deming, N. M., Joyce Hicks and friend, Gerald Pentzer, of Hagarville, Ida Lantz and husband, Ron, of Montana, and Mary Mullinax and husband, Calvin, of Fort Worth, Texas; three sons, Troy Pitts of Deming, N. M., Willie Pitts and wife, Ann, of Batson, and Ray Pitts and wife, Christie, of Dardanelle; one brother, Leon Moffitt of California; 28 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial was in Minnow Creek cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lancy Pitts, Bryan Pitts, Floyd Callahan, Ted Callahan, Jerry Hicks, Donny Hicks, Coy Hicks, Doyle Hicks, Les Lantz, Dale Lantz, Calvin Mullinax Jr., Michael Mullinax, Soren Louvring, and Michael Bruhn.
Visitation was from 6-7 p.m. Monday, June 25, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Grace D. Henderson

Grace Darlene Henderson, 73, of Maryville, Mo., formerly of Clarksville, died Monday, June 11, 2007, at her home.
She was a native of Warsaw, Ill., daughter of the late James Alfred and Alice Louise Spriggs Cummings, graduate of San Diego (California) High School and Elsie's Beauty School in Clarksville, beautician, owner and operator of Fashion Flair Beauty Salon in Maryville, Mo., since 1973, and was preceded in death by one sister, Patty Cummings; and two brothers, Richard and Charles Cummings.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Matt Johnson of Maryville, Mo., two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Marie Henderson of Ashville, N. C., and Marland and Jeanne Henderson of Long Island, N. Y.; eight grandchildren, Amber, Jace, Jenna, Bobby MiTasha, Terry, Jennie and Michael; three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Taten and Dylan; five sisters, Helen Fryes, Juanita Daily, Dorothy Hamlin, Linda George, and Betty Loyosa; one brother, Tom Cummings of San Diego, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews including locally Teresia and Darrell Wadley of Lamar and Sydney and Bill Case of Knoxville.
Funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 15, at Price Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oak Hill cemetery in Maryville, Mo.

Junior Minor

Junior Minor, 79, of Clarksville died Monday, June 18, 2007, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
A native of Clarksville, he was a son of the late Dessie (Garrett) and Harlow Minor Sr., retired cattle and peach farmer, and member and longtime deacon at First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Sexton Minor; one daughter, Rita Rachel and husband, Rick, of Bentonville; two sons, Steve Minor and wife, Tia, and Tracy Minor and wife, Kimberly, all of Clarksville; one sister, Helen McAlphine and husband, W. T., of Springdale; one brother, Ancil Minor and wife, Jenese, of New Haven, Miss.; four grandchildren, Tiffaney Holland of Bentonville, Trent Rachel of Jonesboro, and Autumn Minor and Danielle Minor, both of Clarksville; and six great-grandchildren, Breanna, Delaney, Drew and Daidre Holland and Logan and Kyle Rachel.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 21, at First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Vernon Bass officiating.
Burial was in Stillwell cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were James Jaggers, Bill Stewart, Mike Mee, Jimmy Gould, Rip Teal, and David Handley.
Honorary pallbearers were Wendell Lee, Odys Hardcastle, Robert Handley, and Wayne Pyron.

Mario DelSoto Sr.

Mario (Merle) A. DelSoto Sr., 90, of Altus died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at his home.
He was a native of Thurber, Texas, musician, retired construction employee, Catholic, son of the late Florence and Maria Rebescco DelSoto, and was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Eveld DelSoto; four sisters, Mary Leiter, Mollie Antonini, Josephine Ghiotto, and Angeline Mostrato; and one step-granddaughter, Morgan Stone.
Survivors include his wife, Viola DelSoto; one son, Merle DelSoto and wife, Clare Ann, of Altus; one sister, Irene Kuhny of Nevada; two stepsons, Hank Stone and wife, Bobbi, of Indiana and Joe Stone and wife, Tina, of Ohio; one stepdaughter, Therese Stone-Davis and husband, Jeff, of Missouri; two grandchildren, Richard DelSoto of Paris and David DelSoto of Russellville; seven step-grandchildren, Josh Parrish of Ohio, Nick Stone of Indiana, Elizabeth and Emily Davis of Colorado, Brittany and Monica Stone of Ohio and Beth Stone of Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary service was held prior to mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altus with Father William Wewers and Father Hilary Filiatreau officiating.
Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery at Altus under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Roman Sid Hathorn

Roman Sid Hathorn, 72, of Hartman died Friday, June 22, 2007, at his home.
He was a son of the late Omer and Artie Hathorn, retired, and preceded in death by one daughter, Cathy O'Neal.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Lou Nunley O'Neal Hathorn; four daughters, Kathy Ann Hathorn of Fayetteville, Deborah S. Hathorn of Elm Springs, and Theresa J. Culshaw and Marilyn J. Sexton, both of Hartman; one son, Wahlon B. O'Neal of Riverton, Kan.; one brother, Wilburn Lee Hathorn of Springdale; three sisters, Donnie Sue White of Highfill, Bonnie Lou Graves of Elm Springs, and Mildred Wilson of Wesley County, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 3 p.m. Monday, June 25, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home with Rev. Kelly Yarbrough officiating. Burial was in Mt. Airy cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Mikey Sexton, Nick Sexton, Rodney Hathorn, Dillon Greninger, Eddie Casebolt, and Jason Gramaud.
Honorary pallbearers were Mike Jacobs, Ned Anderson, Donny Frost, Lee Niederriter, Ronny Hathorn, Mike Sexton, and Wahlon O'Neal.

Abigail Faith Nichols

Abigail Faith Nichols, infant daughter of Tim and Alisha Nichols of Anderson, S. C., died May 31, 2007, at AnMed Health Womens and Children's Hospital.
Other survivors include grandparents, Danny and Mary Jean Barrell of Coal Hill and Karl Hocker of Anderson, S. C.; great-grandparents, Argie and Ann Harderson of Moon Hull and Robert Hocker Sr. of Anderson, S. C.; and one aunt, Melody Barrell of Coal Hill.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, David and Marie Nichols of Anderson, S. C., and Dorothy Marie Hocker of Anderson, S. C.
