Amy May Evans
Amy May Evans, 93, of Hartman died Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
A native of the Spadra Community, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Maggie Hill Hook, widow of Dewey Evans, member of Hartman United Methodist Church and a retired poultry processing plant employee.
She is survived by one daughter, Wilda Lamberson and husband, Jerry, of North Little Rock; three sons, Jimmy Evans, Charles Evans and wife, Patsy, and David Evans, all of Hartman; one brother, Charley Hook of Clarksville; one sister-in-law, Wanda Hook of Hartman; one brother-in-law, Doyle Evans of Hartman; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one niece, Anita Johnson of Hartman.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, at the Hess cemetery with Rev. Paul Draper officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Connie Jean Sanders
Connie Jean Gober Sanders, 53, of Fort Smith died Thursday, June 7, 2007, in Fort Smith.
She was a Baptist, widow of Noah (Eddie) Edison Sanders, and was preceded in death by her mother, Erma Jean Muckelroy.
Survivors include her father, Monroe Gober of Coal Hill; fiance, Billy Andrews of Altus; one daughter, Amanda Sanders of Fort Smith; four sons, Jeremy Sanders and Billy Sanders, both of Altus, and Josh Sanders and Eli Sanders, both of Ozark; three sisters, Martha Pascale of Alix, Lisa Wyatt of Chicago, Ill., and Carolyn Kenney of California; and eight grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at noon Saturday, June 9, at Highland cemetery in Ozark with Father John, O.S.B., officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Chad Pyle, Jason Wyeth, Heath Blasingame, Joshua Grubb, Blake Murray, and Eli Sanders.
Dennis Conquest
Dennis Conquest, 65, of Clarksville died Monday, June 11, 2007.
He was a native of Flint, Mich., and son of the late Thomas Conquest.
Survivors include his wife, Laverne Conquest; three daughters, Penny Pitts and husband, Steve, of Clarksville, Shayne Estep and husband, Dustin, of Coal Hill, and Merian Redman of Mt. Morris, Mich.;
four sons, Mike Conquest and wife, Teresa, and Josh Conquest and wife, Toi, all of Lamar, and Jamie Conquest and wife, Gloria, and Danny (Boone) Conquest and wife, Ashley, all of Clarksville; mother, Evelyn Conquest of Frankenmouth, Mich.; two sisters, Joyce Anderson of Montrose, Mich., and Jean Arins of Caledonia, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, at the Minnow Creek cemetery north of Lamar with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Kenneth Wayne Maness
Kenneth Wayne Maness, 50, of Lamar died Friday, June 8, 2007, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was an employee of Tyson Protein Plant and son of the late Luther and Juanita Brown Maness.
He is survived by three brothers, Raymond Warren, Charles Maness and wife, Shelia, and David Maness and wife, Kathryn, all of Arlington, Iowa; four sisters, Dorothy Balkcom and husband, Bobby, and Ine Seekins and husband, Steven, all of Clarksville, Margie Brewer and husband, Vernon, of Mountain View, and Thelma Maness of Lamar; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at Lee cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were William Taylor Sr., Charles Maness, David Maness, Jason Maness, David Maness Jr., and William Taylor Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Raymond Warren, Chris Gilliham, Bobby Balkcom, and Steve Seekins.
Raymond R. Kasper
Raymond R. Kasper, 65, of Hartman died Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Clarksville Convalescent Home.
A native of Gate, Okla., he was a son of the late John William and Louella Hein Kasper, 1959 graduate of Kremlin (Oklahoma) High School, member of Union Grove Baptist Church, machinist, and was preceded in death by one son, Fred Kasper; one daughter, Loretta; and one sister, Loretta.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Cook Kasper; one daughter, Tanya Robinson and husband, Stephen, of Hartman; one son, Matthew Kasper and wife, Jessica, of Hartman; mother-in-law, Beverly Cook of Hartman; one sister, Treva Dayton of Enid, Okla.; four brothers, Virgil Kasper and Clifford Kasper, both of Enid, Okla., Leon Kasper of Hartman, and Larry Kasper of Ozark; six grandchildren, Deanna, Nathan, Paige, Marianne, Hope and Rayann; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, June 11, at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Burnett King officiating.
Burial was in Union Grove cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Hays, Lonnie Wilson, Curtis Houston, Brock Gould, Fred Dougan, and Ben Alfred Hardgrave.
Sallie Richie
Sallie M. Richie, 82, of Ozark, grandmother of John Briney of Coal Hill, died Monday, June 4, 2007, in Ozark.
She was a native of England, daughter of the late Sam and Mary Wade Griffith, widow of Charlie Richie, member of the Church of Christ at Branch, and was preceded in death by one grandson, Nathan Richie.
She is survived by one son, Allen Richie of Ozark; one brother, Joe Griffith of Mt. Pine; five other grandchildren, David Briney and Charles Richie, both of Ozark, Cindy Kersh of Poteau, Okla., Betsy Robinson of Claremore, Okla., and Christy Reed of Van Buren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 7, at Branch Church of Christ. Burial was at Lowes Creek cemetery, north of Branch, under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
Pallbearers were Matt, O. C. and David Moore, Jim and James Kiger and Jerry Hayes.
Veronica Sue Embry
Veronica Sue Embry, 62, of Clarksville, a native of Kentucky, died Monday, June 4, 2007, at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
She is survived by one son, Franklin Day of Clarksville.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Friday, June 8, at Oakland cemetery with Rev. Tom Dicus officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Walter E. Gregory Sr.
Walter Eddie Gregory Sr., 71, of Clarksville died Monday, June 4, 2007, in Clarksville.
He was a native of Bistow, Okla., son of the late Clyde Ray and Opal Marie Pasmore Gregory, Baptist, oil field employee, and was preceded in death by his wife, Betty June Gregory; two sons, Walter Eddie Gregory II and Walter Eddie Gregory III; and a daughter, Brenda Gregory.
Survivors include five daughters, Theresa Hunt and husband, LeeRoy of Perry, Okla., Lorine (Kay) Bozarth and husband, Ernie, of Gage, Okla., Dorine Smallwood and husband, J. R., of Heavener, Okla., and Janice Benson and husband, Bobby, and Sherl Mathews and husband, Mike, all of Clarksville; one brother, Ted Gregory; two sisters, Janette Quils and Pam Porchaska; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 7, at Square Rock cemetery in Waldron with Rev. Dardanelle Townsley officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
