Doris A. Harris

Doris A. Harris, 85, died April 24, 2007, in Maple Valley, Wash.
She was a native of Wauneta, Neb., former resident of Johnson County, daughter of the late Luther and Emily Kellie Barnes, and widow of Elmer (Tugs) Harris.
She is survived by five children, Betty Lou Freeman of Lamar, Rhonda Lea Short and Johnny Raye Harris, both of Kent, Wash., Emily Anne Naylor of Tulelake, Calif., and Denise LaRee Behrmann of Maple Valley, Wash.; one sister, Darlean Moreland of Champion, Neb.; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday, May 12, at the Annie's Chapel Church north of Lamar. Burial will be in Annie's Chapel cemetery.

Garry Lee McGhee

Garry Lee McGhee, 58, of Little Rock, son of Wilma Garrett Mincher of Clarksville, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007.
He was a member of MENSA, son of the late Oliver McGhee, and was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Dee and Effie Garrett; and grandmother, Addie McGhee.
Other survivors include one daughter, Gabrielle Christina McGhee of Fayetteville; stepmother, Marion McGhee Powell and husband, Jim, of Conway; two brothers, Ed and David McGhee; and three sisters, Karen McGhee Henderson, Jennifer McGhee Schmidt and Wendy McGhee Harvey and their spouses and children.
Arrangements were under the direction of North Little Rock Funeral and Cremation Service.
Memorials may be made to American Mensa, 1229 Corporate Drive West, Arlington, Texas, 76006-6103.

Kathleen S. Rust

Kathleen S. Rust, 87, of Virginia Beach, Va., formerly of the Harmony Community, died Monday, April 30, 2007.
A native of Clarksburg, W. Va., she was a daughter of the late Tressie and Orlen Springston, widow of Walt Rust, former employee of the State Department in Washington, D. C., and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees as the national field vice president for Region IV, and a member of Community United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. William Walter Rust III and wife, Marcella, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Richard Marshall Rust and wife, Emily, of Selma, Ala.; one daughter, Kathleen Anne Rust Bell of Arlington, Va.; one brother, Robert Springston and wife, Martha, of Tampla, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 11 a.m. Friday, May 4, at Community United Methodist Church with Rev. Brad Phillips officiating. Private entombment was in Rosewood Memorial Park under the direction of Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home of Virginia Beach, Va.

Kenneth David Freeman

Kenneth David Freeman, 52, of Broken Arrow, Okla., died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, in Broken Arrow, Okla.
He was a son of the late Conrad Nelson and Elsie Hazel Hufford Freeman and a plumbing superintendent.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Price Freeman; four daughters, Andrea Joy Caygill of Sperry, Okla., Amy Renee Vaughn and Valarie Anne Peerson, both of Tulsa, Okla., and Lindsay Danielle House of Deland, Fla.; one son, Shawn Conrad Freeman of Claremore, Okla.; three brothers, Wayne Freeman, Bobby Joe Freeman and Jack Freeman, all of Clarksville; one sister, Diania Stepp of Clarksville; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Hagarville cemetery with Rev. Bobby Freeman officiating.
Active pallbearers were Kevin Freeman, Jeremy Freeman, Jason Freeman, Aaron Stepp, Ben Stepp and Shannon Davidson.
Honorary pallbearers were Jonathan Freeman, Dustin Freeman, Jeffory Boen, and Randy Freeman.

Robert Dean Gill

Robert Dean Gill, 85, formerly of Clarksville, died Monday, April 30, 2007, at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro.
He was the retired owner of Spot's Furniture, Appliance and Jewelry Store, U. S. Army Air Corps veteran, and member of First Baptist Church of Dumas. He was a son of the late Dan and Cora Stephan Gill, and was preceded in death by four brothers, Stephan, Gardner, Earnest and D. W. Gill Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Gill; two sons, Don (Donna) Gill and Chris (Brooke) Gill; four daughters, Cheryl (Steve) Sloan, Janet (Jerry) Schull, Traci (Louis) DeSalvo, and Phyllis Gill; one brother, Marion (Bobbye) Gill; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 3, at Oaklawn cemetery with Keith Baker officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Sybil Wright Bates

Sybil Wright Bates, age 87, of Clarksville, AR died Wednesday, May 2, 2007.
She was born Aug. 6, 1919, at Flat Rock, AR., daughter of the late Earnest Everett and Icy Brock Wright, widow of Ray Bates, member and Sunday school teacher of First United Methodist Church, graduate of Clarksville High School and attended Ft. Smith Business College, Hendrix College and The College of the Ozarks, member of Beta Sigma Phi and she established the first Beta Sigma Phi chapter in Clarksville, and member of Tri T, Little Rock Garden Club and Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Angela Krohn.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Lesley Krohn Snider and husband, Brandon, of Clarksville, AR and Caitlin Krohn of Clarksville, AR; one great-grandchild, Brock Snider of Clarksville, AR; son-in-law, John Krohn of Clarksville, AR; sister, Jewell Holtz of Fort Worth, Texas; niece, Delane Angelini of Whitney, Texas; great-nephew, Matthew Green of Beijing, China; cousins, Mary Lou Warren and husband, Ronald, of Clarksville, AR, Robert and Jason Warren of Clarksville, AR, and many other nieces and nephews from the Bates family; beloved caregivers, Leona Tomlinson, Lois Minyard, and Cindy Tomlinson.
Funeral service was at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 5, 2007, at First United Methodist Church. Burial was at Oakland cemetery with Rev. Doug Criss officiating.
Pallbearers were Harold Lewis, L. J. Simms, Ronald Warren, John Frost, Reed Greenwood, and Virgil Knight.
Honorary pallbearers were Robert Warren, Jason Warren, Stacy Bates, Albert Tomlinson, Hunter Tomlinson, John Krodell, Chris Krodell, Robert Greenwood, John Minyard, Matthew Green, Ronnie Townson, Steve Tomlinson, C. H. Tomlinson, Jack Krodell and Gary Kilgore.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 535, Clarksville, AR 72830.
Hardwicke Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Helen M. Wheeler

Helen M. Wheeler, 78, of Denver, Colo., formerly of Johnson County, passed away on May 1, 2007, at 5:45 a.m.
She passed away in the home she shared with her two daughters and two of her grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wheeler Jr.
She is survived by her five daughters, Nora Hegarty, Cora Maloney, Jean Farley, Ruth Tucker, and Betty Hegarty; and two stepdaughters, Marietta Smith and Celina Harris. She is also survived by at least 14 grandchildren and at least 14 great-grandchildren.
There will be no ceremony or viewing.
She is to be cremated and her ashes are to join with Edward Wheeler Jr's.

Bynum Roberson

Bynum Jefferson Roberson, 68, of Lamar died Monday, April 23, 2007, at Ozark Nursing Home.
He was a pentecostal and was preceded in death by his parents, John Perry Roberson and Nancy B. Harris Roberson; wife, Vera Roberson; one sister, Eileen Kiner; and two brothers, Devoe Roberson and Henry Roberson.
Survivors include four sons, Perry Roberson and wife, Kay, of Russellville, Gary Roberson and wife, Jennifer, of Denning, Randy Roberson and wife, Berchel, and Jeff Roberson, all of Lamar; one sister, Florence Warren of Lamar; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 27, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Burial will be in the Holman cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Roberson, Beacher Roberson, Tim Roberson, Tymmie Palmer, Aaron Self, and Leon Hill.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clifford Roberson, Bobby Williams, Wesley Williams, Randy Warren, William Warren and Jim Bob Roberson.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
