Anna L. York
Anna L. York, 78, of Knoxville died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at Clarksville Health and Rehab.
She was a daughter of the late George Washington and Lela Nichols McMillan, widow of James N. York and native of Georgetown, Texas.
Survivors include one daughter, Rita Ramsey of Knoxville; one son, Jimmy C. York of Waldorf, Md.; one sister, Gracie Scarrow of Hugo, Colo.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Knoxville cemetery with Rev. David Zeiler officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Glendon Grant Breed
Glendon Grant Breed, 56, of Clearwater, S.C., formerly of Knoxville, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on I-40 at miler marker 41.
He was a native of Oak Grove, La., and a construction employee.
Survivors include his parents, Grady and Wilma Sanderson Breed of Knoxville; one sister, Donna Johnson of Lake Providence, La.; three brothers, Steve Breed, Jeffrey Breed, and George Breed, all of Knoxville; and grandmothers, Mavis Sanderson of Oak Grove, La., and Kate Breed of Hollywood, Fla.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct, 12, at East Mount Zion Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Robbie Jackson officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Iva Bea Nowotny
Iva Bea Nowotny, 77, of Knoxville died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, in a house fire at Knoxville.
She was a native of Ozark, widow of Tommy Ed Nowotny and was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Don Thomas; and four daughters, Kathy Thomas, Judy Adams, Geneva Thomas and Janice (Jan) Thomas.
Survivors include one daughter, Karen Chenault of Jacksonville; one son, Bobby Thomas of Knoxville; two sisters, Velma Easom of Ozark and Nina Lee of Paris; four brothers, June Waits of Olathe, Kan., Billy Waits and Jimmy Waits, both of Ozark, and Maudie Waits of Fort Smith; three half-brothers, Charles Waits, Terry Waits and David Waits; nine grandchildren, Brandon Reynolds, Daniel Cartwright, Joshua Scott, Tara Thomas, Jordan Thomas, Logan Thomas, Justin Long, Kiley Long and Shelby Chenault; and three great-grandchildren, Tearyn Thomas, Landon Scott, and Alex Long.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Knoxville First Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Snyder and Rev. Ira Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in Knoxville cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Janice (Jan) Thomas
Janice (Jan) Thomas, 53, of Knoxville died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, in a house fire at Knoxville.
She was a native of Ozark, daughter of the late Tommy Ed and Bea Nowotny; and was preceded in death by one brother, Ricky Don Thomas; and three sisters, Kathy Thomas, Judy Adams, and Geneva Thomas.
She is survived by one sister, Karen Chenault of Jacksonville; one brother, Bobby Thomas of Knoxville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Knoxville First Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Snyder and Rev. Ira Taylor officiating.

Lucille Bivins Baskin
Lucille Bivins Baskin, 93, of Clarksville died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at Legacy Lodge Nursing Home in Russellville.
She was a native of Hartman, daughter of the late Wesley and Myrtle Stokes Bivins, graduate of Hartman High School, attended the University of the Ozarks, former school teacher, member of Harmony Presbyterian Church, and was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Robert Howard Baskin; and four sisters, Ocie Bivins, Avis Hightower, Verna Brown and Ima Bivins.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Roberta and Jerry Coffee and Rebecca and Douglas Ritchie, all of Clarksville; two sisters, Iola Powell of Katy, Texas, and Betty Fowler of Hartman; grandchildren, Wesley and Kathryn Coffee of Cabot, David and Kelly Coffee of Clarksville, and Michael Ritchie and Shawanna Miller of Cedarville; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Harmony Presbyterian Church with Tracy Julian and Kelly Pearson officiating.
Burial was in Hess cemetery at Coal Hill under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Wesley Baskin Coffee, Michael Douglas Ritchie, Seth Coffee, David Michael Coffee, Jacob Coffee, and Ethan Coffee.
Patrick Breed
Patrick Breed, 48, of Knoxville died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on I-40 at mile marker 41.
He was a native of Hollywood, Fla., construction employee, and preceded in death by two brothers, Timothy Breed and Grant Breed; and two grandfathers, Ernest Sanderson and John Breed.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie (Warren) Breed; two daughters, Suzanne Warren and Stefanie Sumrall, both of Oak Grove, La.; one son, Daniel Breed of Shreveport, La.; parents, Grady and Wilma Sanderson Breed of Knoxville; one sister, Donna Johnson of Lake Providence, La.; three brothers, Steve Breed, Jeffrey Breed, and George Breed, all of Knoxville; five stepsons, Jimmy Cameron and wife of Clarksville, Bear Warren of Oak Grove, La., Tony Moore and wife of Knoxville, Nathan Warren of Clarksville, and Hunter Boydston of Clarksville; two stepdaughters, Amanda Couron of Sioux City, Iowa, and Lyndsey Warren of Clarksville; and two grandmothers, Mavis Sanderson of Oak Grove, La., and Kate Breed of Hollywood, Fla.

Victor J. Macnamara
Victor James Macnamara, 86, of Van Buren, father of Joyce Deen of Clarksville, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, in Van Buren.
He was a supervisor of realty loans for the V.A. Administration having retired in 1979, retired U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, Vietnam War, and the Korean War, and a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Macnamara; one other daughter, Victoria Lewon of Stafford, Va.; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. Burial with military honors will be at the U. S. National cemetery in Fort Smith.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Ocker Funeral Home, 700 Jefferson Street, Van Buren.
Warner Ray Lumpkin
Warner Ray Lumpkin, 67, of Hot Springs, formerly of Clarksville, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009.
He was a son of the late Ozell and Louise Lumpkin, 1960 graduate of Fort Smith Northside High School, recipient of a football scholarship to George Pepperdine University where he attended prior to graduating from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville in 1965 with a bachelor of science degree in physical education and later a master of science degree in education from Louisiana Tech University in 1970.
He served as a coach and principal in Perryville, El Dorado, Clarksville, and Hot Springs (Lakeside and Lake Hamilton) schools and finished his career in education of 37 years in 2002 as director of the Arkansas Principal's Assessment Center at the Arkansas Department of Education.
He was a member of the Arkansas Secondary School Principal's Association, Arkansas School Administrator's Association, Arkansas Education Association, Hot Springs Baptist Church, and other various civic organizations over the years, and a golfer.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Brenda Lumpkin; one daughter, Ashley; one grandson, Walker; brother and sister-in-law, David and Judy Lumpkin of North Little Rock; sister, Twanet Secrest of Alma; brother-in-law, Jim Walker of Conway; and niece and nephews, Jason and Brandon Lumpkin, Ken and Mike Secrest, Barbara Pacheo, and Caleb and Caperton Walker.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Hot Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Manley Beasley Jr. officiating.
Burial was in Hollywood cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home in Hot Springs.
Active pallbearers were Ron Fair, Bill Lewallen, Floyd Marshall, Truett Love, Danny Frazier, Randy Muse, Dr. James Vasilos, Dr. Lloyd Crossley, William James and Jerry Parker.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Fort Smith Northside High School football team of 1958-60, Genesis Cancer Center, Arkansas Home Health, Arkansas Hospice, Hot Springs Baptist Church Sunday school class and golfing buddies.
