Estelle Doss Porter

Estelle Doss Porter, 91, of Alma died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Alma Healthcare and Rehab Center in Alma.

She was a native of Bethlehem, former resident of Clarksville, daughter of the late Daniel and Bell Gould, attended Clarksville Church of Christ, and was preceded in death by husbands, Idus Doss and Joe Porter; one granddaughter; five brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Earlene Domerese and husband, Clarence, of Van Buren; one son, Don Doss and wife, Betsy, of Van Buren; one stepson, Alvin Porter of Seymour, Tenn.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at the Coal Hill cemetery with John Ballard officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.Ruth Marie Harris, 82, of Lamar died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Harmony, daughter of the late Marion and Elizabeth Sisco Buchanan, widow of Clyde Harris, and member of the Lighthouse Christian Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Doss of Springdale; one son, Leroy Harris of Lamar; one sister, Amanda Hatfield of Fresno, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Mt. Vernon cemetery with Rev. Bill Hickman officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Roy Lee Harris, Shawn Harris, Kenneth Reinholtz, Harold Don Bowen, Will Pizzotti, David Fowler, and Curtis Doss.

Dana Jill Hanson

Dana Jill Hanson, 51, of Clarksville died Monday, July 20, 2009, from injuries sustained in a two vehicle accident on Highway 103 approximately six miles north of Clarksville.

She was born Dec. 20, 1957, at Redfield, S. D., daughter of the late Carl Norwood and Loree Theda Marie Hammond Hanson, and attended Westside Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include one son, Andrew Johnson of Clarksville; five sisters, Lovell Dahl of Pelican Rapids, Minn., Linda Ferris of Rosemount, Minn., Penney De Jean and Mara Zoe Hanson, both of Huron, S. D., and Debra Warfield of Nampa, Idaho; five brothers, Gaylord Hanson of Rexburg, Idaho, Mark Hanson and Kim Hanson, both of Omaha, Neb., Rex Hanson of Casper, Wyo., and Randall Hanson of Pinedale, Wyo.; and companion, Edgar Green of Clarksville.

Memorial services were held Saturday, July 25, in South Dakota.

Local arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Daniel L. Crumrine

Daniel L. Crumrine, 69, of Marion, Kan., whose daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Bill Hanuska, reside in Hartman, died Friday, July 17, 2009.

He was a retired Cain's Coffee Company employee and was involved in numerous Marion County Lake improvements.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Crumrine; four other children, Brad and Angela Young of Morgan City, La., Diane Ware of Wichita, Kan., Bryan and Kate Kabler of Valentine, Neb., and Jaci Kendall of Marion, Kan.; mother, Dorothy Coleman of Derby, Kan.; 19 grandchildren, Heather Welton, Wendy Kabler, Adam Kabler, Daniel Kabler, Noah Kabler, Aliah Kabler, Gini Hurst, Reno Young, Inez Young, Sydnie Flint, Robert Halberg Jr., Brandon Findley, Kyle Ware, Detra Ware, Donald Ware Jr., and Ciara Hanuska, Emily Hanuska, and Shelby Hanuska of Hartman and Brooke (Brett) Fromdahl of Knoxville; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, at the Marion Christian Church in Marion, Kan.

Dee Hamilton

Dee Hamilton, 89, of Waldron, formerly of Johnson County, died Friday, July 24, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Waldron.

He was a son of the late John Wesley and Mamie Davis Hamilton, former resident of Fort Smith, where he was a member of the United Pentecostal Church, retired employee of Kroger after 31 years of service, and was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline Hamilton; five daughters, Elizabeth Brakebill of Hot Springs, Wanda Johnson of Little Rock, Jane Arnold of Longmont, Colo., Dorothy Kelly of Atlanta, Ga., and Thelma Korgan of Tulsa, Okla.; one son, Dennis Hamilton of Cabot; one sister, Ima Faye Ramsey of Little Rock; four stepchildren, Jackie Young and Jimmy Gardner, both of McAlester, Okla., Judy Dunlap of Little Rock, and Jerry Gardner of Fort Smith; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Brakebill officiating. Burial was in Hamilton cemetery at Odna.

Active pallbearers were Donald Williams, Chris Brakebill, David Brakebill, Richard Korgan, Floyd Ray Golden, Michael Brakebill, and Duane Johnson.

Grandchildren served as honorary pallbearers.

Irene F. Guthrie

Irene F. Kraus Guthrie, 84, of Riverside, Calif., died Saturday, July 18, 2009, at Integrated Care Communities facility in Moreno Valley, Calif.

A native of Clarksville, she was a daughter of the late Henry B. and Sinia M. Freed Kraus and the widow of Clyde O. Guthrie.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Ann Guthrie of Riverside, Calif.; two granddaughters, Natalie and Nicole Guthrie of Riverside, Calif.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service was held Thursday, July 23, at Riverside National cemetery.

Irene F. Callahan

Irene Fetters Callahan, 92, of Lamar went to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 26, 2009.

She was in love with James H. Callahan her whole life. She was a homemaker, a retired housekeeper from Mickel Nursing Home and mother of 13 children. She was born in Lamar, Arkansas to Dennis and Dora Bell Easley Fetters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Callahan; parents, Dennis and Dora Bell Easley Fetters; a sister, Ruby Maudean Brandon; three brothers, Lloyd Fetters, Floyd Andrew Fetters and Dennis Earl Fetters; three daughters, Maedean Rainey, Dian Anglin and Cathy Callahan; four sons, Dalton, Douglas, Randy and Ray Callahan; two granddaughters, Vanessa Anglin and Theresa Gregory; and two daughters-in-law, Kimberly Sue Callahan and Louise Callahan.

Survivors are two daughters, Jan Marlow of Clarksville and Elizabeth Smith of Lamar; four sons, J. D. Callahan of Batson, Bill Callahan of New Mexico, Bob Callahan of Ratcliff, and Jeff Callahan of Ozone; one brother, Raymond Fetters of California; two sisters, Helen Pruitt of Pottsville and Colleen White of Russellville; 33 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; her friends and caregivers at Countryside Manor Nursing Home; her lifelong friends, Melvin and Cecilia Bankhead; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Melvin Bankhead officiating. The body will be cremated. Burial will be in Lamar cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Bob, J. D., Bill and Jeff Callahan.

Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 28.

Bruce Hall King

Bruce Hall King, 56, died on Sunday October 5, 2008 of pneumonia. He was born on January 12, 1953.

Bruce was a musician, attended Clarksville High School and graduated from Nashville High School in Nashville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Gertrude King of Clarksville.

He is survived by one son, Leland Joseph King of Fort Smith, AR and a sister, Kay King of Texarkana.

Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith.
