Mary M. Flad
Mary M. Casali Flad died on Monday, July 5, 2010, at Greenhurst Nursing Home in Charleston, AR. She was born in Glastonbury, Connecticut on July 15, 1920. Mary and her husband settled in the Clarksville area from Connecticut and Vermont during the 1970s. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russell Howard Flad; parents, Antonio and Angela Casali; brother, Joseph Casali; sister, Rose C. Balboni; nephew, David Casali; and niece, Janet B. Arnt Gruenberg.
Three nieces, Doris B. Davitt of Bloomfield, Connecticut, Carol B. Grider of Pocahontas, Arkansas, and Donna C. Alzmann of Nokomis, Florida; and several grand and great-nieces and nephews survive. Mary had many friends throughout the Clarksville area, especially her devoted and beloved friend Ronald Patterson.
She loved the outdoors and animals and she would want us to remember her by taking a walk on a beautiful day and enjoying the wonders that surround us.

A graveside service will be Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at 10 a.m., at Oakland cemetery in Clarksville with Father William Wewers officiating. Arrangements are by Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville, Arkansas.
William Burns Collier
William Burns Collier, 100, died Monday, June 28, 2010, at his home in Hackett.
He was born Oct. 3, 1909, in Fort Smith, the son of Horace William Collier and Erla Lillian Poynor Collier of Clarksville. He attended the University of the Ozarks and Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge where he earned a bachelor's degree and did post graduate work. He served in the armed forces during World War II and retired in 1971 from the B.F. Goodrich Company prior to moving to Hackett where he ran a cattle operation and supplied hardwood lumber to furniture makers. He was preceded in death by one brother, Herman Jackson (Jack) Collier of Glendale, Calif.; and one sister, Mary Frances Borroff of Seattle, Wash.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary Elizabeth (Libby) Wardrep Collier; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Collier of Little Elm, Texas; one son, Steve Collier of Hackett; three grandsons, Michael Burns Collier and Brian David Collier of Austin, Texas, and Gregory Alva Collier of the U. S. Marine Corps stationed in Camp Pendleton, Calif.; and one sister, Florence Jean Simmons of Peoria, Ariz.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements were under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
Allen Lee Kirkpatrick
Allen Lee Kirkpatrick, 68, of Knoxville died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at his home.
He was a native of Knoxville, son of the late Charlie Otis and Mildred Nordin Kirkpatrick, lifelong farmer, retired gas well mechanic for Centerpoint Energy, member of the First Baptist Church of Knoxville and the Knoxville Masonic Lodge, and was preceded in death by one daughter, Korena Kay Kirkpatrick; and one sister, Wanda Kirkpatrick.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Roy Lemaster of Lamar; one son, Brian Kirkpatrick of Knoxville; one sister, Charlene Waddell of Florence, Miss.; five grandchildren, Natascha Lemaster, Brooklyn Lemaster, Shanadoah Lemaster, Shawn Kirkpatrick and Teresa Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at Knoxville cemetery with Rev. Euel Nordin officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Active pallbearers were Scott Sanderson, Carlton Burnett, Earl Sanderson, Jerry Whorton, Bob Nichols, Buster Bocksnick and Steve Tillman.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Knoxville Masonic Lodge.
Alma Marie Phillips
Funeral for Alma Marie Phillips, 83, of Tulsa, Okla., who died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at Freedom Life Church of God with Senior Pastor Steven Lacy officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at 3 p.m. at the Fort Douglas cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Home.
She was a native of Hickey, daughter of the late Sam and Lois Sparks Standridge, widow of Jessie Walter Phillips, retired Bama Pie Company employee, member of Freedom Life Church of God, and was preceded in death by three sisters, Blanche Hardin, Ella Smiley and Coy Mae Summers; and two brothers, Don Standridge and Edward Standridge.
Survivors include two sons, Bob Phillips and Sammy Phillips, both of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Donna Jackson of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Kaithy Bevenue and husband, Bill, of Glenpool, Okla.; two sisters, Wilma Hassler of Colorado and Wanda Walters and husband, Kenneth, of Missouri; four brothers, Conan Standridge and wife, Angie, of Kentucky, and Kenneth Standridge and wife, Carolyn, Dwayne Standridge and wife, JoAnn, and Bill Standridge and wife, Donna, all of Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ann Sears
Ann Sears, 77, of Nicholasville, Ky., died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at her home.
A native of Ion, she was a daughter of the late Estell and Willa Mae Hunt Posey, of the Assembly of God faith, and preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Gibson and Steven Russell; and one daughter, Brenda Goza.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Sears; two daughters, Donna Nowacke of Lamar and Helen Nichols of Nicholasville, Ky.; one son, Gordon Gibson of Hartman; two stepdaughters, Helen Sue Warren of London and Brenda Lee Russell of Morrilton; two stepsons, Charles Sears of Hartford and Ricky Sears of Fort Smith; three sisters, Lilly Mae Hogue of Hartman, Georgia Fletcher of Delaware, and Patricia Weatherford of Anna, Texas; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 11 step grandchildren; and 16 step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, at the Kendall cemetery near Hartman with Rev. David Zeiler officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Michael Thomas Gibson, Earl Wilson, Larry Hogue, Raymond Hogue, James Hogue, and Johnny Hogue.
Honorary pallbearers were Gerald Warren, Matt Fisher, Johnathon Cagle, Ray Terrill, Don Nichols, and Perry Davis.
Artie W. Hickey
Artie Wilburn Hickey, 76, of Lutherville died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at his home.
He was a native of Silex, son of the late Luke Emmit and Safronetta Pearson Hickey, logger, and preceded in death by one daughter, Audrey Crow; and one brother, James D. Hickey.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ann Hickey; three daughters, Clara Huffman and Elizabeth Mackie, both of Dover, and Myrene Parks of Hector; three sons, Donnie Hickey of Hector, James L. Roberts of Piney, and Kevin Emmit Hickey of Lutherville; two sisters, Ruby Joyce LaRue of Oklahoma and Nadine Verdin of London; one brother, Doyan Leon Hickey of Dover; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial services and burial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Adams cemetery near Lutherville with Rev. Bobby Judkins officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
Lura Elaine Morgan
Lura Elaine Morgan, 79, of Coal Hill died Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, in Paris.
She was a native of Franklin County, daughter of the late William T. and Bertha Bartlett Garner, widow of Armil Morgan Sr., retired Tyson Foods employee, member of the Ozarka Aerie Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and was preceded in death by one son.
Survivors include two sons, Armil Morgan Jr. of Hot Springs and Kevin Morgan of Coal Hill; three daughters, Lisa Brison of Coal Hill and Mary Ann Hurt and Sandra Johnson, both of Ozark; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Jackson cemetery in Ozark.
Ollie Mae Wright
Ollie Mae Wright, 97, of Ozark, mother of Dean Wright of Clarksville, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, in Ozark.
She was a daughter of the late Jesse and Cora Bell Lovell Stacy, widow of Charlie Wright and was preceded in death by one son, Charles Eugene Wright; and four brothers, Clyde, Leroy, Melvin and Billy Stacy.
She is survived by one other son, Ronnie Wright of Ozark; one sister, Maxine Drake of Altus; one brother, Hairl Stacy of Ozark; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Oak Grove cemetery with Rev. C. E. Simpson officiating, Arrangements were under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Robert James Yerby
Robert James (Bob) Yerby, 68, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010.
He was a son of the late Robert Ralston and Mary Curtis Utley Yerby of Piney, sports enthusiast, accomplished musician, and was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Julie Elise Yerby; cousin, Alan Holt; and several aunts and uncles.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Christine Faucett Yerby of Dardanelle; one son, Scott Patrick Yerby and wife, Lisa, of Fayetteville; two daughters, Lori Anne Pratt and husband, Matt, of Rogers and Lynn Michelle Hodges and husband, Jim, of Dardanelle; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several cousins.
A memorial celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Dardanelle.
The body was cremated.
