Roseanne W. Curtis

Roseanne Weir Curtis, 55, of Knoxville died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at her home.

She was born at Selma, Calif., graduate of Laton High School in Laton, Calif., and attended junior college at Reedley, Calif.

Survivors include her husband, Harland Curtis; one son, John Ryan Weir of Knoxville; two stepdaughters, Denise Wilkerson and Melany Hill, both of California; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins of California.

Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, at the Knoxville cemetery with Rev. Richard Snyder officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

Sharon Voit

Sharon Voit, 65, of Clarksville died Monday, Nov. 22, 2010.

She was a native of Mishawaka, Ind., and daughter of the late Robert and Ruby Pearl Sult McKee.

Survivors include her husband, Rondeau Voit; two daughters, Sherre Voit of Texas City, Texas, and Kriste Brug of Fort Collins, Colo.; one son, Marc Voit of Fort Collins, Colo.; three sisters, Roberta Marshman and Betty Nickerson, both of South Bend, Ind., and Beverly Beske of Tampa, Fla.; one brother, Jim McKee of Springfield, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services and burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at Granview cemetery in Fort Collins, Colo.

Local arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Stanley W. Craig II

Stanley W. Craig II, 67, of Knoxville died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Clarksville.

He was retired from the U.S. Navy, native of New Brighton, Pa., attended Flat Rock Worship Center at London, and was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley W. Craig I and Dorothy Jane Whitmore Craig; wife, Leona Clarene (Rennie) Craig; and one sister, Violet Jean Craig.

He is survived by five stepdaughters, Linda Kay Diestler of Paris, Brenda Faye Elliott of Knoxville, Jeannie Sue Melton and Rennie Lue Bowles of Calico Rock, and Mary Ann Holland of Clarksville; three sons, Stanley Harrison of Knoxville, Ritchie Harrison of Hurricane, W. Va., and Robert Allen Harrison of Buffalo, W. Va.; one stepson, Orville Joe Lindsay of Pine Bluff; one sister, Eva Jane Weaver of College Station, Texas; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Judith Ann Harrison of Buffalo, W. Va.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Birge officiating. Burial will be in Minnow Creek cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel.

Eleanor M. Almgren

Eleanor M. (Billie) Almgren, 81, of Ozone died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a daughter of the late Vernon D. and Goldie I. Brobeck Steinbargar, owner of Backdoor BBQ, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Steinberg and Jimmy Bertschy.

Survivors include her husband, Ray Almgren; one son, Michael Almgren and wife, Kim, of Geneva, Ill.; four sisters, Bonnie Wentworth of Lincoln, Del., Sue Bruno of Bonita Springs, Fla., Sally Hotchkiss and Lavina Rung, both of Meadville, Pa.; one brother, John Bertschy of Calabash, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Erik Almgren and wife, Lisa, of Elgin, Ill., and Alison Almgren of Buffalo Grove, Ill.

A memorial service was held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Carey officiating. The body was cremated.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society.

Helen C. Burch

Helen C. Burch, 75, of Clarksville died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at her home.

She was a daughter of the late Riley and Lilly Ann Sampley Carter, widow of Thomas M. Burch, Baptist, retired beautician, and preceded in death by one sister, Alice Marie Brinegar; and five brothers, Harold Carter, Don Carter, Michael Carter, Kenneth Carter, and Gene Carter.

She is survived by one brother, Wayne Carter of Clarksville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services and burial were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, at the Fort Smith National cemetery with Rev. Amos Pledger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

James Allen Marshall

James Allen Marshall, 66, of Dardanelle, whose son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Sherrie Marshall reside in Lamar, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Cotton Town, son of the late Dock Allen and Callie May Spence Marshall, Army veteran, employed as a mechanic for John Deere for 30 years, and was preceded in death by one sister, Charlene Gamble.

He is survived by one other son, Michael Marshall of Dardanelle; one daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and James Foster of Russellville; and four grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. Tom McElmurry officiating. Burial was in Brearley cemetery.

Leo D. Smith

Leo D. Smith, 95, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at his home in Kansas City, Mo.

He was a native of Hartman, son of the late William and Rosa Smith, and manager and operator of the ESSO Gas Station in Hartman prior to joining the Army in 1942. During World War II he served in General George S. Patton's Third Army and saw five major battles. Following the war he moved to Kansas City, Mo., and after 30 years of service he retired from General Motors – Fairfax in 1976.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucile Coats Smith; infant daughter, Rosan; grandson, Justin; one brother, Clyde Smith; and two sisters, Reba Smith Phillips and Neita Smith Hirsch.

Survivors include one daughter, Dana Bruegging of Kansas City, Mo.; and one grandson, Matt Bruegging of Kansas City, Mo.

Funeral and celebration of life services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Kansas City, Mo. Burial with full military honors followed at Floral Hills cemetery.

Roger Pawson

Roger Pawson, 67, of London, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born March 11, 1942 in Jackson, Michigan. He was a retired United States Navy Veteran who served in VietNam. He was a member of the London First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilda Jolls & husband Loran and father, Charles Pawson & wife Connie.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Judy Pawson; three daughters, Christine Selby & husband Doug, Cindy Broadhead & husband Lou, Cary Tumbleson-Helms & husband Danny, all of London; 11 grandchildren, David Selby, Steven Selby, Gregory Selby, Tyler Tracy, Coleman Selby, Leah Broadhead, Levi Broadhead, Jake Tumbleson, Sara Tumbleson, Emma Helms, Kate Helms; brother, David L. Pawson & wife Tanis, LaPorte, Indiana and special family, two brothers, Fred Tumbleson, Mark Tumbleson; four sisters, Charlene Dodge, Louise Smith Ridgley, Phyllis Oliver, Wanda Scoggins, all of Clarksville and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 2:00PM, Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at London First Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Green officiating. Burial will be at Brock cemetery at London under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Full military honors will be provided by Rogers-Rye VFW Post 2283.

Terry E. White

Terry E. White, age 68, a resident of London, Arkansas, died Saturday, January 2, 2010, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

He was born January 30, 1941 at Russellville to Roy Edd and Katherina Anna Baurichter White. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers-in-law Kenneth Wilson and W. C. (Bill) Sims; and one sister- in-law, Donna Sims. He was a member of East Point Baptist Church, London Fire Department, the Arkansas and Pope County Cattleman’s Association.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Ruth Sims White; two sons and daughters-in-law Mark A. and Mary White and Edward A. and Julie White, all of London; one brother and sister-in-law, Lee Roy and Velma White of Russellville; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Anna Johnson and Evelyn and Earl Hull, all of Russellville; three grandchildren, Matthew White of Dover, Justin White and his wife, Misty, of Russellville, Brandi White of Kentucky; five step grandchildren, Michael Fraser and his wife, Misty, Adam Vines and his wife, Misty, Dusty Norris, Justin Wade, and Jennie Judkins; one great granddaughter, Jayla Marie White of Kentucky; three step great grandchildren, Hannah, Alex, and Jacey; one sister-in-law, Juanita Wilson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special family friends, Greg, Marie, Chris, and Nick Heiser.

The funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at East Point Baptist Church with Rev. Ira Taylor and Rev. Larry Pless officiating. Burial will be at East Point cemetery under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

Active pallbearers will be members of the London Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Andrews, Billy Koster, John Hogue, Jr., Charles Stelle, Jessie Apalategui, Nathan Metzer, members of the London Rural Fire Department, and retirees of Firestone.

Visitation was held 6 – 8 P.M. Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the East Point Baptist Church building fund.
