Billie Jean Campbell
Billie Jean Campbell, 62, of Lamar died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home.
A native of Hunt, she was a daughter of the late William and Nellie Roland Campbell, 1965 graduate of Hartman High School, Baptist, and preceded in death by one brother, Thurman Campbell; and two sisters, Betty and Rita Campbell.
She is survived by three sisters, Gladys Brown and husband, Troy, of Clarksville, Joann Williams of Fort Smith, and Ruby Bowles and husband, Greg, of Howe, Okla.; two brothers, Jesse Campbell and wife, Mary, of Clarksville and Jimmy Campbell and Bobbie of Lamar; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral was at 10 a.m. Friday, June 26, at Hunt Tabernacle Church with Rev. Leo Villines officiating.
Burial was in Porter cemetery at Hunt under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Brandon, Steven and Edward Campbell, Ronald Patterson, Troy Brown, Jeremy Winslow and Tim Brown.
E. C. Kremer
E. C. Kremer, 69, of Scranton died Thursday, June 18, 2009.
A native of Scranton, he was a son of the late Frank Alfred and Mary Clementine Beschoner Kremer, self-employed masonry contractor, member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, and preceded in death by one brother, Roger Dale Kremer.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jeanette Greb Kremer; one son, Clay Kremer and wife, Michele, of Scranton; one daughter, Lanette Kraus and husband, Bobby, of Clarksville; four sisters, Ramona Whitman of Subiaco, and Elaine Sprick, Shirley Marie Kremer and Alfreda Jenkins, all of Scranton; two brothers, Frank J. (Bud) Kremer of Scranton and Jack R. Kremer of New Blaine; six grandchildren, Kasey Clay Kremer, Cody Lane Kremer, Dillion Chase Kraus, Layla Marie Kraus, Tabitha Lee Moore, and Dakota Lamar Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary was at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 21, at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris. Mass was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 22, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton with burial at St. Meinard Cemetey in Prairie View.
Active pallbearers were Clay Kremer, Dalton Jenkins, Roger Kremer, Frank Curtis Whitman, Kevin Greb, Bobby Kraus and Jake Kremer.
Honorary pallbearers were Frank J. Kremer, Jack Kremer, Mike Jenkins, Kasey Kremer, Cody Kremer, and Dillion Kraus.
Neta Cheatham
Neta Carol Cheatham, 51, of Russellville, sister of Phyllis Dougan of Clarksville, died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock.
She was a native of Fort Chaffee, daughter of the late Charles Kendrick, and a member of the Crow Mountain Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and assisted with Vacation Bible School. She was preceded in death by one son, Billy Joe "B.J." McKellar; two sisters, Deborah Jane Kendrick and Theresa Diane Williams; and maternal grandmother.
Other survivors include her husband, Mitch Cheatham; two sons, Tim McKellar and wife, Crystal, of Custer, Ky., and Charles Cheatham of Russellville; mother, Joan Reed Williams of Russellville; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Humphrey Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Don Rose and Brad Cheatham officiating. Burial was at Pisgah cemetery at Pottsville.
Pat Taylor
Pat Taylor, 77, of Clarksville died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at his home.
He was a native of Clarksville, son of the late Oliver and Jewell Wise Taylor, member of Salus Free Holiness Church, Mason, and preceded in death by his wife, Opal Taylor.
He is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Dalton and husband, Marty, of Clarksville; one son, Rusty Taylor and wife, Debbie, of Clarksville; one brother, Douglas Taylor of Grand Junction, Colo.; four grandchildren, Randy Taylor, Emmett Dalton, Katie Taylor and Christina Davis, all of Clarksville; eight great-grandchildren; and one niece.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Boen and Rev. Larry Willis officiating. Burial will be Shady Grove cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Wesley Turner, Wesley Kendrick, Darrien Warren, Joe Wooten, Michael Willis, Jeremy Boen, Chris Bailey and Joshua Holt.

Ruth Collier King
Ruth Collier King, 91, of Clarksville died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at her home.
She was a native of Lamar, daughter of the late James and Laura Annie Woodward Collier, widow of Boyd D. King, retired from the poultry industry, member of the Mountain Home Freewill Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by one sister, Laura Annie Collier; and six brothers, Thomas Collier, John Collier, Clarence Collier, William Collier, James Collier, and George Collier.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara J. Steele and husband, Jimmie, of Shawnee, Okla.; two sons, Clarence E. King and Gary D. King, both of Clarksville; one brother, Irvin Collier of Lamar; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, at the Mountain Home Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Claude Froggatt officiating.
Burial will be in Lamar cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Thomas L. Brandon
Thomas L. Brandon, 47, of Clarksville died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Oklahoma, son of the late Loman and Ruby Fetters Brandon, and a masonry employee.
Survivors include his fiancée, Scottia Hicks of Clarksville; one daughter, Breanna Brandon of Lamar; three sisters; and one brother.
Funeral was at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Payne officiating. The body will be cremated.
Don Kenneth King
Don Kenneth King, 61, of Little Rock, passed away June 20, 2009, after a long battle with cancer. He was born December 31, 1947, in Clarksville, Arkansas to the late Kenneth and Frances Thompson King. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Little Rock and was especially active in the audio/visual aspect of worship.
Don graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1970, with a degree in electrical engineering. While at the U of A, he was a clarinet player in the Razorback Bands, and found himself carrying a sousaphone for one football season. He was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi and an honorary member of Tau Beta Sigma.
In 1971, Don began working with Systematics, Inc. in Little Rock. Systematics subsequently became a part of Alltel and is now Fidelity Information Services. His illustrious career in the computer industry spanned over 38 years. He was also a founding member and partner of RBAA Films.
Don was very active in Boy Scouts his whole life. He was an Eagle Scout, received the Silver Beaver award, and had been an assistant scoutmaster of both Troop 336 at Trinity United Methodist Church and Troop 335 at Highland Valley United Methodist Church. He was also actively involved in scouting at the district and council levels, having coordinated camporees, leader training, junior leader training and youth leader training events as well as numerous treks to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and the high adventure base in the Rocky Mountain Council in Poncha Springs, Colorado.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Beth (Root) King of Little Rock; daughters, Rebecca Lynn King of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Kathryn Elizabeth Barlow and her husband, Matthew, of Fayetteville, Arkansas; son, Matthew Allen King and his wife, Christy, of Springdale, Arkansas; one precious grandson, Caleb Kenneth King of Springdale; sisters, Carol Stiffler and her husband, Fred, of Little Rock and Adele Jacobs and her husband, Mike, of Clarksville; brother, Pat King of Clarksville; aunt, Dotty Dunlap of Muskogee, Oklahoma; six nephews, seven nieces and twelve cousins.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Don’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on August 29th at Trinity United Methodist Church in Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or to The Don and Beth King Family Endowed Scholarship at the University of Arkansas. This scholarship was established to support engineering students participating in the University of Arkansas Bands and Razorback Marching Band programs.
