Ena Mae Hartsell
Ena Mae Hartsell, age 81, of Plain Dealing, Louisiana died Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at Willis Knighton Hospital. She was born June 16, 1922 in Waldo, Arkansas. Mrs. Hartsell was a beautician and a member of the Plain Dealing Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Hartsell on December 4, 2000.
Survivors include: one son & daugther-in-law, Donald C & Patricia Hartsell of Santo, TX; two daughters and sons-in-law, Yuvonne H & Robert Dison of Springhill, LA and Antionette & Don Thomas of Plain Dealing; one sister, Sue Knighton of Stamps, AR; eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at The Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Alvin Swain officiating and burial in the Plain Dealing Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.

Ruth Lyda Harrison Bales
Ruth Lyda Harrison Bales, age 75, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 16, 2003. She was born on December 18, 1927 in the Melrose Community south of Lockesburg, Arkansas. Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert Roy Harrison and Lucy Jane Hull Harrison, and her husband, Robert H. "Bob" Bales.
Ruth graduated from Lockesburg High School and attended Henderson State Teachers College and Southern State College. She was a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. In later years she worked for Cherokee Carpet Mills and Falcon Industries in Lewisville, and was retired from the Stamps Public Library where she was the librarian.
Ruth, as well as her husband, was very active in the American Legion. She held posts at both the local and district levels, and was the first woman elected commander of the local American Legion, Carlton-Devanie Post #49.
Ruth is survived by: a son, John Robert Bales of Dallas, TX; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Ann and Larry Perry of Lewisville, AR; three grandchildren, Dawn Brazell Nottingham, Heather Denise Brazell, and Bruce Tyler Perry; one great granddaughter, Carolyn Grace Nottingham; a brother, Robert Harvel Harrison of Little Rock, AR; two sisters-in-law, Josephine Y. Harrison of Lewisville and Alice B. Bales of Baraboo, WI; three nephews, four nieces, eight great nieces, two great nephews, and several cousins and other relatives.
Ruth requested that her remains be creamated. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Jessie Glazier Glasscock
Jessie Glazier Glasscock, age 87, a longtime resident of Stephens, Arkansas died Thursday, December 11, 2003 at Ouachita Memorial Hospital in Camden, Arkansas. She was born August 22, 1916 in Monterey, Louisiana. Mrs. Glasscock was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Stephens. She was preceded in death by: her husband, four brothers, one sister and two grandsons.
Survivors include: one daughter, Martha Hunter & husband Wilson of Stephens, AR; two sons, Fred D. Glasscock, Jr. & wife Martha of Taylor, AR and Glenn Glasscock & wife Esther of Camden; one brother, George Ferrell & wife Pearl of Brookhaven, MS; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of nieces & nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2003 at the First Baptist Church of Stephens with Rev. Jim Pinson officiating assisted by Rev. Fred Hunter and burial in Stephens Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, AR.

Clara E. Foster
Clara E. Foster , age 92, of Lewisville, Arkansas died Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. She was born February 1, 1911 in Patmos, Arkansas. Mrs. Foster was a retired waitress and a member of The Church of Christ in Lewisville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earlie Foster , Sr., and by a daughter, Ellen Dodson.
She is survived by: one son & daughter-in-law, Earlie Foster , Jr. & wife Bobbie of Arlington, TX; one sister, Margaret Dennis of Mangolia, AR; two brothers, Aaron Nicholas & wife Elizabeth of Stamps, AR and Edward Nicholas of Stamps; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren, and a number of nieces & nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at The Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with David Nicholas officiating and burial in The Wilson Cemetery at Lewisville under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Loyde Franklin Horton
Loyde Franklin Horton, age 64, of El Dorado, Arkansas died Sunday, December 7, 2003 at his residence. He was born April 27, 1939 in Stamps, Arkansas. Mr. Horton was a laborer.
Survivors include: three brothers, David Horton of El Dorado, Birl Horton of Minden, LA and Virgil Horton of Russellville, AR; four sisters, Lois Wallace of Stamps, Frances Cape of Chunky, MS, Louise Ratliff of Hope, AR and Patsy Points of Longview, TX; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Rev. Donald Points officiating and burial in the Falcon Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.

Eleanor F. Warren
Eleanor F. Warren, age 93, of Lewisville, Arkansas died Friday, December 5, 2003 in The Arkansas Nursing & Rehab Center in Texarkana, Arkansas. She was born June 3, 1910 in Lewisville. Mrs. Warren was a homemaker.
She is survived by: one daughter, Dottie Smith of Ft. Smith, AR; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and twelve great-great grandchildren.
Private graveside services were held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at Wilson Cemetery with the Rev. Russell Bailey officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, AR.

Bobby Sue Bustin
Bobby Sue "Sam" Bustin, 56, of Willisville, Arkansas passed away Saturday, December 6, 2003. She was born August 24, 1947 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was a former employee of Amfuel and a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Waldo, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her mother, Vera Knight, and three sisters, Patricia Evans, Mary Jackson and Barbara Smelser.
She is survived by: her husband, Donald Bustin of Willisville; daughters, Dora Tucker and husband George of Willisville, Linda Brdges and husband Kenneth of Prescott, AR, Annette Rogers and husband Jack of Stamps, AR, Kathy Reed and husband Marty of Ashdown, AR, and Karrie Campbell of Willisville; one sister, Betty Fincher of Waldo; eight grandchildren, one great grandson, and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Monday, December 8, 2003 at memorial Baptist Church in Waldo with Bro. Daniel Williams and Bro. James Lindsey officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery near Bodcaw, AR.

Thurman Lee Douglas
Thurman Lee Douglas, age 76, of Stamps, Arkansas died Friday, December 5, 2003 at a hospital in Texarkana. He was born May 21, 1927 in Stamps.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Lois Douglas of Stamps; two sons, Ricky Lee Douglas of Stamps and James Franklin Merritt of Port Neches, TX; one sister, Vivian Baxter of Stamps; one brother, Autry Lee Douglas of Stamps; two grandchildren, Levia Rheaann Douglas of Lewisville, AR and Joseph Merritt of Port Neches; a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at Sardis Cemetery with Rev. Michael Gordon officiating.

William Everett Watson
William Everett Watson, age 63, of Stamps, Arkansas died early Thursday morning, April 8, 2004 at The St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, TX. He was born December 28, 1940 in Collins, Arkansas. Mr. Watson was retired from International Paper Company, Box Plant Division, Springhill, Louisiana, an Army Veteran and a member of The First Presbyterian Church in Stamps. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett & Bessie Watson, and by a brother, Ronnie Watson.
He is survived by: his wife, Nan Hall Watson of Stamps; one son & daughter-in-law, Mike & Karen Watson of Stamps; two sisters, Ann Davis and Sue Terry, both of Lewisville, AR; one brother, Dennis Ray Watson of Arkadelphia, AR; four grandchildren, Mandy Watson, Taylor Lyell, Cody Lyell and Candice Lyell, all of Stamps; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 10, 2004 at Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps with Rev. Dana Casey officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
