Jennie Stidham
Jennie Stidham, age 96, of Bradley, Arkansas died Saturday, July 29, 2006 at the Springhill Medical Center in Springhill, Louisiana. She was born September 20, 1909 in Arkana, Louisiana. Mrs. Stidham was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Stidham and three sons, Glen Newton, Homer Stidham and James Elbert Newton.
Survivors include: two daughters, Edith Jones and Jessie Loe Caskey, both of Taylor, AR; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 31, 2006 at the First Baptist church in Bradley, Arkansas with burial following in the Walnut Hill Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
James Delane (Jim) Freeze
James Delane (Jim) Freeze of Texarkana, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2006. He was born September 28, 1921 in Cleveland, Oklahoma to James E. and Lula Freeze. He proudly served as Captain, pilot, and flight instructor in the United States Marine Corp in WWII. Jim has been an active member of the Methodist Church, a former member of the First United Methodist Church, TExarkana, AR and was a charter member of Sugar Hill United Methodist Church in Texarkana. He retired as Chief Financial Officer of St. Michael Hospital in 1985. His love for flying, his patriotism, and his commitment and service to his country reflected the character he showed in all aspects of his life. Jim leaves a legacy of kindness, honesty, hard work, love, and commitment to his friends and family. A friend described Jim as "the epitome of a Southern Gentleman" and truly a member of the "greatest generation". He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Survivors include: wife of 54 years, Harriette Whatley Freeze of Texarkana; two children, David Freeze & wife Sonya of Texarkana and Debbie Brown & husband David Austin of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Julie & Kathryn Freeze of Texarkana and Nolan & Lana Brown of Little Rock; one sister, Melba Krauleidis of Perry, OK.
Graveside services were held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 31, 2006 at the Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville, Arkansas under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Paul Babb (P.B.) Woodridge
Paul Babb (P.B.) Woodridge of Lewisville, Arkansas passed away on July 25 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born in Hampton, Arkansas on August 29, 1915. The family moved to Camden, Arkansas when he was six months old. He grew up in Camden where he graduated from Camden High School and later attended the UA at Fayetteville. He was retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad after forty-four years of service. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Dr. Walter B. and Alice Wooldridge; one brother, Prince Wooldridge; and two sons, Paul B. Wooldridge Jr. and Dennis E. Wooldridge.
He is survived by: his wife of forty-five years, Betty Ann Wooldridge; two daughters and spoudses, Betty L. and David Wilson of Magnolia, Arkansas and Alice M. and Steve Kiefer of Little Rock, Arkansas; one son and wife, John R. and Sandy Smith if Hillsboro, MO; seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn Caskey, John Paul Caskey, Tully Wilson, Brittney Kiefer, Brandon Kiefer, Greg Smith, Sreeja Smith and Shane Wooldridge; five great grandchildren.
Memorial service was to be held at Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri.
Ann Kimbell Herring
Ann Kimbell Herring, age 82, of Baldwin, Louisiana died Monday, July 24, 2006 at the Franklin Foundation Hospital. She was born March 13, 1924 in Waldo, Arkansas. Mrs. Herring was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Herring and by two brothers, Billy Kimbell and Roy Kimbell.
She is survived by: her husband, Herbert M. Herring of Baldwin, LA; one son, Kim Herring of Franklin, LA; one brother, Paul Kimbell of Waldo, AR; three sisters, Tine Puska of El Dorado, AR, Sybil Gaskill of Harrison, AR and Alice Jean Kimbell of Little Rock, AR.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Rev. Jim Gaskill officiating and burial in Lakeside Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Christine Hickman Burson
Christine Hickman Burson, age 85, of Stamps, Arkansas died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at the Magnolia Hospital in Magnolia, Arkansas. She was born March 18, 1922 in McNeil, Arkansas. Mrs. Burson was a homemaker and a member of the Non-Denominational Church in Haynesville, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Burson, six brothers, four sisters, and her parents, Will Hickman and Siclyn Grimmett Hickman.
She is survived by: a daughter, Mary Hayes of Bogota, TX; son, John David Burson of Hughes Springs, TX; sister, Dorothy Gray of Magnolia; Special Friend, Felta Smith of Hughes Springs, TX; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps with Rev. Tim Pruitt officiating and burial in Lakeside Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.
Harvey T. Ham, Jr. P.D.
Harvy T. Ham, Jr., P.D., age 71, of Lewisville, Arkansas died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at his residence. He was born June 25, 1936 in Garland, Arkansas. Mr. Ham was a Ginner prior to entering Pharmacy School. He graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Pharmacy and owned and operated Ham's Pharmacy in Lewisville for many years. He was a Baptist, member of Couples Bridge Club of Lewisville and was serving on the Quorum Court. He was an avid Razorback Sports Fan, enjoyed piloting a single engine plane and was a devoted bird watcher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Ramie Ham.
He is survived by: his wife, Sarah Ham of Lewisville; two sons, Harvey T. Ham III P.D. of Russellville, AR and Mitchell Ham & wife Debra of Canfield, AR; two daughters, Betsy Griffin & husband John of Lewisville and Shannon Jensen & husband Keith of Flippin, AR; sister, Betty Mills of Lewisville; brother, E.W. Ham & wife Jean of Texarkana, AR; five grandchildren, Dax Haltom & Erin Griffin of Fayetteville, AR, Ben Griffin & Matthew Ham of Magnolia, AR, and Marry Elizabeth Haltom of Harrison, AR.

Jerry Wayne Turnage
Jerry Wayne Turnage, age 49, of Magnolia, Arkansas died Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the Homer Memorial Hospital in Homer, Louisiana. He was born February 4, 1958 in Magnolia, Arkansas. Mr. Turnage was a truck driver and was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. Turnage and Mary Ellen Byrd Turnage.
He is survived by: a step-son, Danny Coyne; step-daughter, Kathleen Coyne; brother, Neil Turnage of Magnolia; sister, Patricia Cutchall of Texarkana, AR; nephews, Jeriad, Christopher and Waylon.
Graveside services were held at 2:30 pm on Monday, January 21, 2008 at Shiloh Cemetery north of Stamps with Bro. Bubba Wells officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps.
Oda G. May
Oda G. May, age 92, of Kilgore, Texas formerly of Bodcaw, Arkansas area, died Thursday, January 10, 2008 in Kilgore. She was born September 20, 1915 in the Corinth Community at Bodcaw. Mrs. May enjoyed working with crafts, but her biggest joy came from spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a special lady to all, greatly loved by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Willard G. May; a daughter, Evelyn Dorman; son-in-law, William "Bubba" Whitton; granddaughter, Kelly Slack Andres; and a great-grandson, Joel Smith.
She is survived by: a son & daughter-in-law, Gordon & Sharon may of Bossier City, LA; daughter, Alice Whitten of Shreveport, LA; daughters & sons-in-law, Mary Jane & Lanny Baker, and Diane & Stan Slack, all of Longview, TX; son-in-law & wife, Harowl & Renee Dorman of Magnolia, AR; brother & sister-in-law, J.W. and Imogene Marlar of Texarkana, AR; sisters-in-law, Mildred Marlar of Mesquite, TX and Nadine Easterling of Texarkana, AR; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Denton & Mary May of Texarkana, AR; eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.

Travis Joe Formby
Travis Joe Formby, age 78, of Lewisville, Arkansas died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Pinehope Health & Rehab in Hope, Arkansas. He was born December 23, 1929 to narvel and Thelma Formby in Patmos, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Billy Formby. Travis Joe was born a special person who was an inspiration to all who knew him. He had many friends and cousins and stayed in touch with them. Travis attended Midway School and spent one enjoyable year at Hot Springs, Arkansas Rehabilitation School.
He is survived by: a brother, Theo & wife Ava Formby of Patmos; nephews, Duane & Belinda Formby, David & Vanassa Formby of Patmos, and Steve Formby of San Marcus, TX; nieces, Cheryl & Gary Lee Banks of Patmos, Suzanne & Mark Marshall of Austin, TX, and Stacy & Steve Taggart of Dallas, TX; four great nephews, eight great nieces, five great-great nephews and four great-great nieces.
