JAMES PHILLIP CLARK
James Phillip Clark, age 71 of Lewisville, Arkansas passed from this life and went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. He was born April 5, 1941, in Lewisville, Arkansas to parents Clarence A. and Aubrey Thomas Clark, both of whom preceded him in death.
Mr. Clark was a life-long resident of Lewisville and after graduating high school he attended college and later enlisted and proudly served in the US Marine Corps for 8 years. He was employed by Dow Chemical Co. (Albamarle) of Magnolia, Arkansas, where he retired after 35 years. After retirement Mr. Clark retired to his farm where he operated a successful poultry and cattle farming business. He was also an avid outdoor sportsman and loved hunting and fishing.
Mr. Clark was an active member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Buckner, Arkansas until his illness prevented him from attending services. He was faithful and devoted to his family and church. Anyone that knew Mr. Clark knew he loved children and enjoyed the time he could spend with his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife of 40 years, Brinda Smith Clark of Lewisville, AR; two sons, Wayne Clark and Phillip Clark & wife, Quinna all of Lewisville. He is also survived by 2 brothers and one sister, Clarence Ray & wife Betty Clark, Jimmy Clark and Maebell Pierson all of Lewisville. Other survivors include seven grandchildren: Tanner & Abby Clark of Buckner, Heather Flournoy of Stamps, Ashley & Chasity McMurrough of Stamps and Blake & Bailey O’dell of Hope. Three great grandchildren: Michael& Taylor Flournoy and Braylen Hurd all of Stamps. Nieces and Nephews John & Joe Pierson, Samantha Kennington, Tracy Clark, Brett Nolte and Ginna Kay Alford.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at 3:00 pm at the Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, Arkansas, with Bro. William Smith and Bro. Charles Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow at Knighton’s Chapel Cemetery in Lewisville. Visitation will be Friday, June 29, 2012, at the Smith Funeral Home from 6 – 8 pm.
MARY LOU RATELIFF
Mary Lou Rateliff, age 85, of Stamps, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Mrs. Rateliff was born February 24, 1927, in Hope, Arkansas to Boyd and Lena Plumley. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Rateliff was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fielding “Trigg” Gentry Rateliff; her son, Fielding Gentry, Jr.; brothers, Grover Cleveland Plumley and Deward Plumley; sister, Clois Lee Vest; two grandsons and two great grandsons.
She is survived by her son, Carrol “Buddy” Rateliff of Buckner, AR; daughters, Janet Morrow and husband, Glen of Nashville, AR; Mary Moye and husband, David of Nashville, AR; Brenda Ross of Nashville, AR; Betty Brown of Hooks, TX; Bonnie Doyle and husband, Robert of Laramie, WY; Elizabeth Rateliff of Redwater, TX; Marjorie Vickers and husband, Terry of Stamps, AR; Rachel Bailey of Vidilia, LA; and Jackie Davis of Lewisville, AR; 34 grandchilren; 54 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR, with Bro. Al Terrell officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Hope, AR. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday, June 22, 2012, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR.
MYRTIS BLANKENSHIP
Myrtis Grace Hollis Blankenship, age 86 of Waldo, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Mrs. Blankenship was born to the late Joseph E. and Ola Mae Moses Hollis on December 14, 1925, in Patmos, Arkansas. Known as “Ma”, family and friends were her passion and delight. She was admired for her many talents, some of which were sewing, ceramics, photography, computers and facebook. She took great joy in sharing her talents through gifts to many family and friends that crossed her path. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Blankenship was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Lentz; 3 brothers; and 5 sisters.
She is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 69 years, Hoyett “Sport” Blankenship of Waldo, AR; granddaughter, Jan Loe Glover and husband, Willie of Magnolia, AR; great grandsons, Jimmy Smelser and Josh Smelser; precious jewel of her life great-great grandson, Haygen Ledell Smelser; sister, Loretta Nicholas of Hope, AR; brother, Joe C. Hollis of Hope, AR; and a number of other relatives and close friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 am Friday, June 15, 2012, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR, with Bro. Donnie Dillard and Bro. David Frizzelle officiating. Interment will be held at Falcon Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, AR.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Smelser, Josh Smelser, Sidney Wayne Hollis, Charlie Hair, Glen Moses, Rodney Cox, Christopher Morrison and Cole Law.
Mr. Clinton Raymond Miller
Mr. Clinton Raymond Miller, 65 of Stamps, AR passed away June 26th at the Magnolia Health & Rehabilitation Center in Magnolia, AR.
He was born August 19, 1946 in Stamps, AR to C.J. Bradford and Vivian Miles.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, one brother, & a step-daughter..
He’s survived by his widow, Mrs. Eula Miller of Stamps, AR, one son, Clinton R. Miller, Jr. of San Bernardino, CA., three daughters, Ms. Michelle Soria and Ms Marilyn Miller both of Midland, TX, Ms. Gina Miller of San Bernardino, CA. His mother, Mrs. Vivian Duncan of Kildare, TX. One step-son; James Prevo of Las Vegas, NV., one step-daughter, Mrs. Mary Wesley of Camden, AR. One brother, Robert Miller of Rialto, CA. Four sisters, Mrs. Linda Cross of Kildare, TX, Mrs. Diane Burdette of Stamps, AR, Mrs. Emma Dean Madison and Mrs. Lavern Bradford both of Bay City, MI. Fifteen grandchildren, Thirteen Great-grandchildren, & three nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm, at Smith Chapel in Stamps, with burial to follow in the Lakeside Cemetery. Under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps. Officiating will be Bro. Ellis Farris.

Emma Louise “Jackie” Malone
Emma Louise “Jackie” Malone, age 90, of Rosston, Arkansas passed away Friday, July 7, 2012 at Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott. She was born April 18, 1922 to Hatley and Elfreda Upchurch Hambrice in Nevada County, Arkansas. Mrs. Malone was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Waldo, and a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mrs. Malone was preceded in death by her parents, Husband James Wylie Malone, two brothers, four sisters, one great-grandson, Zachary Brian Hooper, and one great-granddaughter, Wendy Taryn Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Daisy Sullivent of Willisville, Arkansas; Three Granddaughters, Julie Hartsfield of Willisville, Gaye Manning and husband Gerald of Camden, Ellen Burke and husband Reuben of Stamps; Three great-granddaughters, Dana Hill and husband Tim of Delight, Heather Burns and husband Casey of Willisville, Jordan Burke of Texarkana, Arkansas; Two great-grandsons, Neal Hartsfield of Waldo, Corey Burke of Stamps; Five great-great grandchildren, Autumn, Gracie, Colton, Justin, Wylie, and Wyatt, and a very special friend Elsie Vanhook.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Waldo with Bro. Petey Ward officiating, with interment following at Shiloh Lamartine Cemetery under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 at the funeral home in Stamps.
Christine Slayton Sanders, age 73, of Stamps, Arkansas passed away Thursday June 21, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Sanders was born August 2, 1938 in Colfax, Louisiana to Oscar and Myrtle Bryant Slayton. Mrs. Sanders was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Stamps, Arkansas, where she was involved in the women ministries. Mrs. Sanders was a preschool teacher, landscaper and a homemaker.
Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Oliver “BO” Sanders.
Son: Michael Clayton Sanders
Brothers: Larry, O.D. and Clarence Slayton.
Sister: Joanne Roberts.
Mrs. Sanders is survived by her sons: Jeffery White of Stamps, Arkansas, and Tommie Sanders of Haynesville, Louisiana.
Daughters: Theresa Ann Gardner of Minden, Louisiana, Deborah Ann Downs of Waldo, Arkansas and Stacy Sanders of Stamps, Arkansas.
Brothers: John Slayton of Colfax, Louisiana, Billy Slayton of Bently, Louisiana, and Donnie Slayton of Colfax, Louisiana.
Sisters: Willie McGee of Verda, Louisiana, Margie Ruth Gagnard of Simmesport Louisiana, Debbie Knighton, Geraldine Foster, and Barbra Chelette of Colfax, Louisiana.
Grandchildren: Christopher Sanders, Michael Dison, Jimmy Downs Jr., Casey Downs, Lovie Downs, Trinity Sanders, Tristan Sanders, Lucindal Conklin, Amber White, Clayton White, Justin White, and Jackie White.
14 Great Grandchildren and a host of Nieces and Nephews which she loved and adored, and helped raised. Also hundreds of Preschool children who she kept in her heart.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday June 24, 2012 at 3:00pm at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Roy Johnson officiating under the direction of the A.O. Smith Funeral Homes in Stamps, Arkansas. Burial will follow in the Sardis Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 Saturday June 23, 2012 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
