Mrs. Jewel Morgan

Mrs. Jewel E. Morgan, 86, of Fulton, AR passed away June 2nd at Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, TX

She was born September 26, 1926 in Saratoga, AR to Walter Walker & Ester Bradley-Walker. She served faithfully at the Holy Ghost Temple Church of God Christ with current pastor, Elder Elvis Scott, Sr.

She is preceded in death by: her husband Mr. Otis Ray Morgan, Sr., a daughter Esther Faye Morgan, her parents, and two brothers Walter Walker and L.B. Walker.

Survivors include: Two sons: Otis Ray Morgan, Jr.(Los Angeles, CA) & Elder Joseph Lynn Morgan(Texarkana, AR);One daughter: Ruby Davis(Chicago, IL); One brother: Ned Walker, Sr; Two Sisters: Mary Jane Bruce & Dorthea Wormly; She also leaves to cherish her memory: grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, her church family and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11th at 11:am at Holy Ghost Temple in McNabb, AR with burial following in the Harmony Cemetery in Saratoga, AR.

Under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home in Stamps.

Officiating will be Elder Elvis Scott.

Visitation will be Monday 11:am-5:pm at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, AR.

The body will lie in state Tuesday 10:am-until service time at the church.

MARY AZALEE GIVENS

Mary Azalee Givens, age 97, of Doddridge, Arkansas, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013, in Texarkana, Texas. Mrs. Givens was born December 15, 1915, in Dubberly, Louisiana, the second of eight children, born to Silas Richard and Lula Mae Ross Hawkins. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Mrs. Givens was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar Eugene Givens, Sr.; daughter, Mary Ann Givens; one infant daughter; granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Calhoon; two great grandsons, Bryce Evan Givens and Hayden Zane Givens; son-in-law, Donald Black Nichols; and seven siblings.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty Rich and husband, Donald of Texarkana, TX, Nellie Nichols of Doddridge, AR, Frances Patterson and husband, Randy of Doddridge, AR, and Pat Calhoon and husband, Wiley of Texarkana, AR; sons, Oscar Givens and wife, Glenda of Atlanta, TX, and Bill Givens and wife, Fran of McNeil, AR; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and four step-great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandson-in-laws.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm Monday, June 3, 2013, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Doddridge, AR, with Dr. Randy Hawkins and Bro. George Goynes, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Baptist Cemetery in Doddridge, AR, under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Sunday, June 2, 2013, at the Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, AR.

Memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church Youth Fund and Camp Canfield.

NADINE TINSLEY

Nadine Tinsley, age 79, of Waldo, Arkansas, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013. Mrs. Tinsley was born January 23, 1934, in Bluff City, Arkansas, to Curlin and Lula Franks Martin. She enjoyed working in her garden, fishing on the dock at Kelly Lake, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Tinsley was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; two sisters; and one grandchild.

She is survived by her husband of forty years, Coy P. Tinsley, Jr. of Waldo, AR; children, Nina Johnson and husband, Lynn of Bauxite, AR, Gary Calhoun and wife, Penny of McNeil, AR, Danny Wayne Calhoun of Bodcaw, AR, and Dianne Phelps and husband, Robert of Jonesboro, AR; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two sisters; and one brother.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am Monday, June 10, 2013, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR, with Bro. Randy Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Springs Cemetery in Willisville, AR. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Sunday, June 9, 2013, at the Smith Funeral Home in Stamps.

SONYA C. SMITH

Sonya C. Smith, age 72, of Bradley, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Mrs. Smith was born July 1, 1940, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Elvis and Helen Cater. She was a member of Plain Dealing Baptist Church.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Eddie Cater, Jr.

She is survived by her husband of forty-three years, Richard Smith of Bradley, AR; son, Dixon Smith and wife, Regina of Bradley, AR; four daughters, Geyna Hinds and husband, Allan of Bradley, AR, Natalie Gill and husband, Bobby of Bradley, AR, Shawn Butcher of Bradley, AR, and Sonya Sales and husband, Larry of Leesville, LA; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, June 15, 2013, at Bradley Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Sales officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Friday, June 14, 2013, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Bradley, AR.

DORA M. ROBINSON

Dora M. Robinson, age 74, of Coffeyville, KS, succumbed to cancer and was called home to our Lord Saturday June 15, 2013. Mrs. Robinson was born July 26, 1938 at home in Bradley, AR, to Barden and Cleo Barnett, the youngest of their four children. Mrs. Robinson graduated from Bradley High School in 1957 and attended business school in Bossier City, LA. In 1958, one year to the date after meeting the love of her life, married Sgt. John L. Robinson, USAF and embarked on her journey as a military wife that would take her around the world. She lived in eight states including; Arkansas, Louisiana, California, Texas, Alaska, Georgia, Alabama, and Kansas and returned to live in many of them more than once. Her husbands Military and Civil Service career also took her and her family abroad to live in England, Spain, Guam and Greece. Mrs. Robinson's career included having owned several restaurants, and having worked ten years in Civil Service. Mrs. Robinson enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening, traveling, collecting art and decorating, though her greatest joy in life was sharing her love of the Lord.

She is proceeded in death by her parents and one brother, Leon Barnett.

Survived by her husband of fifty-four years, John L. Robinson of Coffeyville, KS, five daughters; Sherry Neace and husband Roger Neace of Lexington, KY, Jana Horton Elliott of Coffeyville, KS, Merla Hill and husband Mark Hill of Coffeyville, KS, Mandi Collins and husband Stan Collins of El Dorado, AR, Krista McClure and husband Bill McClure of Abilene, TX, thirteen grandchildren; Michael Neace, Matthew Neace, Jeremy Horton, Brandie Horton Hinton, John Elliott, Jordan Elliott, Christian Hill, Mason Hill, Kalen Hill, Derek Collins, Meagan Collins Brewster, Britney Collins, Maxwell (Max) McClure, eight great grandchildren; Carter Neace, Tyler Neace, Noah Horton, Anna Kate Horton, Taylor Hinton, Greyson Hinton, Caspian Hinton, Bronagh Collins, one sister LaJuan Wyrick of Plain Dealing, LA and one brother Alvin Barnett of Plain Dealing, LA, two nieces.; Linda Clements, Sharon Romero, four nephews; Michael Barnett, Bill Barnett, Darryl Barnett, Dean Barnett, and numerous other family members.

Visitation Friday June 21, 2013 at Smith Funeral Chapel Bradley, AR from 5pm- 7pm. Funeral Services will be held the following afternoon at 3pm on Saturday June 22, 2013 at Bradley Baptist Church, Bradley, AR. Officiating will be Mrs. Robinsons grandson, Dr. Jeremy Horton of Ashton, IL. Pallbearers; Michael Neace, Matthew Neace, Jordan Elliott, Derek Collins, Mark Hill, Bill McClure. Procession will follow immediately after to Walnut Hill Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Homes of Stamps, AR.

Mrs. Janice Marie Langston

Mrs. Janice Marie Langston-Lowe, 43, of Texarkana, TX passed away June 14th at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, TX

She was born November 29, 1969 in Stamps, AR to Levester Stevens & Norma Jene Wyrick-Stevens. She was a member of Oak St. Baptist Church in Texarkana, TX. She was a graduate of Stamps High School. She was employed by St. Michael Hospital and also by Texas ISD.

She is preceded in death by: her parents.

Survivors include: her husband: Horace Lowe(Texarkana, TX); (5)children: Cedric Stevens, Michael Langston, Priscilla Langston, Philip Langston, & Keon Langston all of Texarkana, TX; (1)sister: Barbara Stevens(Stamps, AR); grandmother: Earnestine Stevens; 2-grandchildren; a host of sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other relatives & friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 22nd at 2:pm at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, AR with burial following in the Lakeside Cemetery in Stamps.

Under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home in Stamps.

Officiating will be Rev. Frankie Mitchel.

Visitation will be Friday 10:am-5:pm at Smith Funeral Home in Stamps, AR.
