Juanita (Free) Burrow, 76, of Cabot died Sunday.
Survivors: husband, Clifford E. Burrow; daughter, Lorita Heatherly; brothers, C.W. Free, James Free and Don Free; sister, Dorothy Bone; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service: Tuesday, at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel. Interment, Walnut Grove cemetery.
Arthur Ingle
Arthur Early Ingle, 93, of Hazen died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Fletcher and Finus Ingle, both of Hazen; six daughters, Ina Adams, Mary Nell Wood, Shirley Bowen, Florence Reaves, Emma Carlisle, all of Hazen, and Joann Langley of McRae; one step-son, Jerry Raper; two brothers, Lee Ingle of Carlisle and Leonard Ingle of Des Arc; one sister, Sena Baxter of Des Arc; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grand-children.
Funeral services were Jan. 16, at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with interment in the Center Point cemetery. Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen.
Mary White
Mary Ruby Wingfield Mahoney White, 74, of Cabot died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002.
She is survived by her children, Dusty Mahoney of Floyd, Elizabeth Hughes of Rose Bud, Diana Sullivan of Beebe, Linda Burns, Barbara Bryant and Kenny Mahoney of Cabot, Roger Mahoney of Bauxite, Robert Allen Mahoney of Jacksonville and Deborah Hooten of St. Francis; 37 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Cabot Funeral Home.
Martha Ann Jackson
Martha Ann Jackson, 73, of Little Rock, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002.
She was a Past Grand Matron of the Order of Eastern Star of Arkansas, member of OES Brady Chapter #634, and was of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bob R. Jackson Sr. of Little Rock; one son, Bob R. Jackson Jr. of Alexander; two brothers, Robert Riley of Cabot and Thomas M. Riley of Independence, Mo.; one sister, Carol Baber of Waco, Texas; and five grandchildren.
A gathering in remembrance of her was held Saturday, Jan. 12, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth. The Order of Eastern Star performed the graveside service at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
George Mitchell
George “Sonny” Mitchell, age 62, of Jacksonville, died Jan. 8, 2002.
He was retired from George Brown Wrecker Service.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Shirley Mitchell of the home; son, George Mitchell, Jr. of Jacksonville; two daughters Shannon Price of Cabot, and Karen Bragg of Bryant; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Chafton of Hensley and Doug Chafton of Hot Springs; three sisters, Patsi Bickerstaff of Little Rock, Donna Corley of Jacksonville; and Margaret Holland of Cabot.
There was a graveside service Friday, Jan. 11, at Rest Hills Memorial Park. Griffin Leggett Rest Hills was in charge.
Mattie May
Mattie Elizabeth May, 80, of Cabot died Tuesday, January 8, 2002.
She was a member of New Hope Tabernacle Church in Austin.
Survivors include five children, Ronald Wayne May and Patricia Sue Alexander. both of Cabot, Jerry Clyde May of North Little Rock, Michael Dale May of Mayflower, and Virginia Beatrice Rogers of Jacksonville; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Bells Chapel cemetery in Atkins.
Kenneth B. Adams
Kenneth B. Adams, 66, of Little Rock died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002.
He was retired after 32 years from Ben E. Keith Foods.
Survivors are his wife, Janie (Warner) Adams; daughter, Debbie Kay Fawcett of Lonoke; stepson, Kenneth Mashburn of Mineral Springs; two brothers, Tommy and Bill Adams; three sisters, Nettie Flowers, Geraldine Hilton, Ila Shockley; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday at the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Adams cemetery, Conway County.
James R. Fortson
James R. Fortson, 56, of Jacksonville died Jan. 9, 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Bruce; and daughter, Sylvia all of Jacksonville; his sister, Marie Webb of North Little Rock.
Funeral services were Saturday at Huson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in Sumner cemetery.
Tyler Dean Howanietz
Tyler Dean Howanietz of North Little Rock died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002.
He is survived by his parents, Steven and Shalaine Howanietz of North Little Rock; his grandparents, Chuck and Missy Gates of Jacksonville, Roger S. Miller of Green River, Wyo., and Stevie and Joe Elmer of Austin; great-grandparents, J.D. and Tina Pride of Sherwood, Nora Almus Beam of Cabot and Barbara Taner of Jackson, Mo.
A graveside service was held Sunday, Jan. 13, at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
Joseph McCormick
Joseph Ira McCormick, 86, died Tuesday.
He was a Baptist, Mason, retired superintendent of Federal Compress, and a WWII Army veteran.
Survivors: wife, Alene McCormick, England; daughter, Gay Horn, Austin; and son, Joseph Ira McCormick Jr., Little Rock.
Services were held at First Baptist Church, England. Interment, Mulberry cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, England.
Vida Cartwright
Vida “Jim” Cartwright, 77, of Sherwood, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002.
She was retired from Maybelline.
Survivors are her son, James Dowell Cartwright Jr. of Ward; two daughters, Rhona Cartwright of Dallas, Texas, Lesa McGhee of Sherwood; sister, Doris Huddle of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Funeral services were Monday at the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Liberty cemetery in Adona.
Nina Eulalee Pound
Nina Eulalee Pound of Little Rock, died Jan. 11, 2002, at the age of 96.
She is survived by a daughter, Raymell Riggs; a grandson; and great-grandson, all of Cabot; a sister, Grace Price of Little Rock; two brothers, Frank Kinney of North Little Rock, and John P. Kinney of Little Rock.
She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Little Rock for more than 50 years; member of Order of the Eastern Star, Esther Chapter #217, Little Rock; she was retired after 33 years from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., Little Rock; and was an active member of the Little Rock chapter of Telephone Pioneers of America.
Funeral services were Jan. 14, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth, Little Rock. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Park.
