Rance E. Hill
Rance E. “Randy” Hill, 49, of Ward, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002.
He was a project co-ordinator for CBM Construction Company and retired from the Arkansas National Guard.
Surviving are his wife, Holly Covington Hill; two sons, Rance E. Hill II and David Aaron Hill, both of Ward; one daughter, Christy Lynette Hill of Little Rock; his mother, Adell Hill of Ward; two brothers, Jimmy Lee and Kenny Dale Hill, both of Ward; two sisters, Marene Coker of Austin and Verna Watkins of Ward; and two grandchildren.
Funeral was Monday, Jan. 14, at First Baptist Church, Ward, with burial in Monk cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
Patricia Harris
Patricia “Pat” Waddle Harris went to be with our Lord while at home in Brawley, CA on January 15, 2002, after a lengthy illness.
She was born April 30, 1942, in England, Arkansas to the late Mr. Cecil Waddle and Velma McDonald Waddle.
Survived by her husband of 30 years, Cliff Harris; a family dog, Sam; her mother, Velma of Cabot; four brothers, Glenn Waddle of Woodword, OK, Robert Waddle of Furlow, JR Waddle of Lonoke and Joe Waddle of Cabot; five sisters, Wanda Wooley of Edmond, OK, Doris Whittaker of Griffithville, Donna Isaac, Eloise Morden, Kelly Waddle of Cabot; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
A Memorial Service was conducted by Nickie Whittaker at 4:00 p.m. on January 19, 2002 at Cabot Funeral Home. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.
H.L. Harsbarger
H.L. “Bud” Harshbarger, age 72, of Cabot, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2002.
Bud was a World War II Veteran and received the Japanese World War II Medal. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Hazel Harshbarger; one brother and two sisters.
Survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mary Parks Harshbarger of Cabot; three daughters, Judy Cordell of Carlisle, Saundra Hutchins of Cabot, and Rhonda Doyle of Sherwood; two brothers, Marvin and Russell Harshbarger both of Indiana; five sisters, Gartha Webb, Shirley Coffman, and Debbie Harshbarger, all of Indiana, Delores Mitchell of Florida and Karen Coffman of Arizona; three grandchildren, Jody Anthony of Hazen, Cody Cordell of Benton, Cory Hutchins of Cabot; and one great-grandchild, Hannah Anthony of Hazen.
Visitation was 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2002 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2002 Graveside at Arkansas Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.
Ruth Higgins
Ruth Jeannene Higgins, age 66, of Cabot, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2002.
Survived by her loving husband, Paul Higgins of the home; five children, Ruth Ann Tucker of Jacksonville, Wesley Paul Higgins of Katy, Texas, Danny Wayne Higgins of Cabot, John David Higgins of Cabot, and Lori Anne Finley of Austin; four brothers, Wayne A. Slack of Forest Hill, Maryland, David G. Slack of Prattesburg, New York, Lewis L. Slack of Manheim, Pennsylvania, John A. Slack, Jacksonville; one sister, Linda D. Kulick of Seattle, Washington; fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2002 with the family receiving friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Services were 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2002 at the Cabot Funeral Chapel. Interment Mt. Carmel cemetery. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.
Georgia Haymes
Georgia Blanche Sims Haymes, 82, of Austin, Ark., died Thursday, January 17, 2002. She was the widow of Ed Haymes, who preceded her in death Jan. 5, 2002. Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Mary Ann Haymes, who died in 1945; two brothers, Henry and Curry Sims; three sisters, Viola Roe, Florence Hemingway and Sallie Haymes.
Surviving are one daughter, Diane H. Griffin of Austin; three grandsons, Eddie Griffin and his wife, Candy, of Austin, Keith Griffin and his wife, LeAnne, of Des Arc, and Lynn Griffin of Austin; two great-granddaughters, Lauren Griffin of Ward and KeithLea Griffin of Des Arc; one sister, Opal Jones of Bay City, Texas; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family received visitors at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, Ark., from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2002. Funeral was at 2 p.m.

Nora Beam
Nora Almus Beam, age 81, of Austin, died Jan. 17, 2002. She was a Baptist and a retired cook.
Survivors are four sons, Leroy Chadwick of Dermott, Jessie Beam of Norfolk, VA, Ralph Beam of Cabot and Stevie Elmer of Austin; three daughters, Carolyn Brewer of Searcy, Cookie James of DeWitt and Diane McGonigal of Austin; 17 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice Lee of Illinois.
Funeral was Jan. 20, 2002 at First Baptist Church, Gillett, with interment in Gillett cemetery by Essex Funeral Home of DeWitt.
Montine Harton
Montine Lawrence Harton, 91, of North Little Rock died Jan. 16, 2002. She received her license to instruct from Arkansas State Teacher’s College in 1926.
Survivors include her daughters Rosemary Hamel and Carolyn Thornton, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; four step-children, Alice Marks, Pat Hill, Janice Dullenty and Lee Harton.
Funeral was Saturday, Jan. 19, in the Roller McNutt Chapel in Conway with the Rev. Martin McGeachy officiating.
Rudolph Henderson
Rudolph L. (Rudy) Henderson, 64, died Jan. 18, 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Henderson; two sons, Gordon Henderson of Lonoke and Gary Henderson of Carlisle; five grandchildren; his mother, Navada Henderson of West Helena; two brothers, Henry Henderson of Texas and William “Slick” Henderson of Louisiana; eight sisters, Bonnie Brown of Carlisle, Virginia Sapp of Chicago, Donnie Manning, Wilma George, Bobbie Chisnall, Mary Henderson and Marie Copeland, all of West Henlena, and Helen Smith of Clarendon.
Funeral was Jan. 21 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Carlisle with interment in Old Carlisle cemetery by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.
Linda McKiernan
Linda Ann McKiernan, 56, of Benton, died Jan. 19.
She is survived by 3 sisters, Charlene McKiernan of Fayetteville, Valerie Tatum of Kansas City, MO, Christie James of Little Rock.
A private interment was held at Edgewood Memorial Park with Huson Funeral Home in charge.
John “Bill” Smith
Retired MSgt John W. “Bill” Smith, 71, of North Little Rock died Jan. 18, 2002. He served during the Vietnam War with the United State Air Force and was a 32nd degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie; six sons, Timothy of Shannon Hills, Michael of North Little Rock, Joey of Furlow, Dennis of North Little Rock, Calvin of Shannon Hills, and Alan of Furlow; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday at Huson Funeral Home Chapel, Sherwood. Interment was in Butlerville cemetery, with full military and Masonic honors.
Bessie Ann Wilson
Bessie Ann Wilson, 88 of Vilonia, born in Lonoke County, died Jan. 18, 2002 in Conway. She was a homemaker and a member of Woodrow Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Mike Wilson of Vilonia; a daughter, Linda Cheney of Jacksonville;; a sister, Ila Foreman of Beebe; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services were Jan. 21 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel in Conway with Richard Kirkland and Ian Bradshaw officiating. Burial was in Sixteenth Section cemetery.

Audrey Elizabeth Wildrick, 52, of Ward, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2002.
Surviving are her mother, Lorene Bowling, Ward; one brother, Virgil Wildrick, Houston, Texas; four sisters, Ann Tharpe, Louise Holt and Nancy Weigand, all of Ward, and Judy Loyd, East End.
Funeral was Jan. 22 at Country Chapel, Ward, with burial in National cemetery.
