James B. Tucker
James Berford Tucker, 92, of Little Rock died April 5, 2005.
He was a Major in the United States Air Force; after retirement he owned and operated Quality Auto Sales in North Little Rock.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Cain Tucker; his stepchildren, Jade C. Marshall of Yorba Linda, CA, Louie H. Lem of Cabot, Joe C. Lem of Little Rock, and Martha Johnson of Napa, Idaho; nine step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 7, in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth in Little Rock. Graveside service with full military honors was held April 8, at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Rockwall, TX.

Alma Juanita Noble
Alma Juanita Jones Noble, 88, of Ward, died April 6, 2005.
She spent the greater part of her life in Cabot. She and her husband owned and operated the Noble and Carroll Lion Oil Bulk Plant until their retirement in 1980. She was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church for over 50 years and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, R.E. Noble; son, Larry; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held April 9, at Cabot United Methodist Church.
Internment was in Mount Carmel cemetery in Cabot.

Mary Etta Moore
Mary Etta Moore, 78, of Cabot, died April 9, 2005.
She retired from Remington Arms after 15 years.

She is survived by daughters, Elizabeth Ann Coffelt of Carlisle and Shelli Bland of Searcy; son, Raymond Moore of Conway; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wed., April 13, at Arkansas Memorial Gardens.

Helen I. Davis
Helen I. (Whitt) Davis, 77, of Independence, MO, formerly of Roland, died April 8, 2005.
She retired from Asbury Methodist Church in Little Rock.

She is survived by her son, William Earl Smith of Ferndale; daughters, Sonseeahray LaPee and Nancy Lachance, both of Independence, MO; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters: Mamie Braun of Cabot, and Nancy Emison of Jacksonville.

Services will be 10 a.m. Fri., April 15 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, with interment in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.

Ruth Howe
Ruth Howe, 95, of England, died April 10, 2005.
She was the oldest member of County Line Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Betty Wharton of England, and Bille Vandervort of Hackett; three grandchildren; six great-grandsons; and sisters, Dot Underwood and Helen Zandopky both of Corvallis, OR.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wed., April 13, at County Line Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Tom Greenleaf and Bro. Chuck Trusty officiating.

A graveside service will follow at Mulberry cemetery.

Charles Van Nostrand
Charles Robert Van Nostrand, 68, of Jacksonville died April 10, 2005.
Van Nostrand graduated from Jacksonville High School.
He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, a lifelong member of Jacksonville Sertoma Club and a member of the Jacksonville Volunteer Fire Department. He also coached Pee Wee and Little League baseball in Jacksonville for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen of the home; daughter, Karen Wisniewski of Houston, TX; son, Steve Van Nostrand of Jacksonville; mother, Beatrice Van Nostrand of Jacksonville; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service was held April 12 at First United Methodist Church. Burial followed at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville.

Memorial donations may be made to Charles Stuck Scholarship Fund, c/o First United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, American Cancer Society or CARTI, in Little Rock.

Oneda McFadden
Oneda McCree McFadden, 91, of Rose City, died, April 9, 2005.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and for the past year lived at the Golden Years Manor in Lonoke.

She is survived by son, Jimmy McFadden of North Little Rock; daughter in-law, Jo Lynn McFadden of Lonoke; three granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Pulaski County, Little Rock.

Funeral services were held April 11 at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in the Oak Grove cemetery.

Robert Offord
Robert “Bobby” Offord, 65, died April 6,, 2005.
His survivors include his wife, Christene Offord; daughters, Barbara Ann, Ruth Ann Cole, Novella, Loretta McGee and Shannon Offord, and son, Michael Offord, all of Beebe; stepson, Ray Miller; stepdaughter, Barbara Scull; sisters, Emma Gean of Beebe, Annette Harris of Jacksonville, Louise Turner and Diane Jones both of North Little Rock; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thurs., April 14, at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke with interment in St. Matthew cemetery in Kerr.

Louise Bauer
Louise Bauer, 80, of Seabrook, TX, died April 5, 2005.
A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m., Fri., April 15, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Morrison Bluff.

She was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church in Nassau Bay, TX.
She is survived by her children, Judy Bauer of Seabrook, TX; and Rich Bauer of Ward; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Harris County Public Library and sent to Evelyn Meador Branch Library, c/o Greg Burns, 2400 N. Meyer Road, Seabrook, TX 77586.

William H. Scruggs

William Homer Scruggs, 81, of Beebe, Arkansas, passed away Monday, March 28, 2005. He was born May 7, 1923, to William Elmer and Ollie Scruggs. He worked thirty-seven years for Franklin Electrical Co. in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Homer was a member of First Baptist Church in Beebe, was a deacon and Sunday School teacher for fifty years, a World War II veteran and a 32nd degree Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Patricia Ann Scruggs Thurman.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Juanita Scruggs; two grandsons, Scot and wife Robyn Thurman of Columbia, South Carolina and Jeff Thurman of San Francisco, California; and one sister, Gladys and husband Boyd Reed of Beebe.

Visitation begins at 12 noon Wednesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005, at First Baptist Church, Beebe, with burial in Sylvania cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Beebe First Baptist Church building fund, 101 Hwy. 64 W., Beebe, AR 72012 or Baptist Health Hospice, 11900 Colonel Glen Rd., Ste. 2000, Little Rock, AR 72210.

Steven R. Reaves

Steven Randel Reaves, age 42, died March 25, 2005. He was a veteran and worked in construction.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Sexton of Ward, one brother, Christ Reaves of Ward, one sister, Dianne Uli of Arroyo Calif.

Funeral services were March 29 at Wilson Funeral Home in England. Interment was at Union Valley, with pastor Gary Graves officiating.
