Eligha Gooden
Eligha Gooden Sr., 64, of Lonoke, died Feb. 12, 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Erma Jean Gooden; children, Eddie, Samantha, Theresa, Eligha Jr., Floria, Karen and Vick; three brothers and four sisters; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, 11 a.m. at Richwood C.O.G.I.C., in Lonoke.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, from 1 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Gerald R. Ragland
Gerald R. Ragland, 60, formerly of Cabot, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, in Marshall. A dry wall construction worker, he was a member of AR Beagle Association.
Survivors include his mother, Berlene Ragland of Marshall; three daughterrs, Carmelia Johnson of Alexander, Maycelle Ragland of Benton and Sonja Glaze of Cabot; four brothers, Doyle, Don and Roy Ragland, all of Marshall and Clovis Qualls of Moreland; a sister, Mildred Howell of Cabot; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral service was Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Roller Coffman Chapel with Roy Ragland, Wendel Jones and Johnny Vaughn giving eulogies. Burial was in Chinquapin cemetery, Marshall.
Pallbearers were Phillip Isaac, Donald Cates, Sandy Hill, Dennis Baldwin, Bobby Green and Gary Kirkendoll. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Moss, Tom Hinkle, Carlos Horness, George Burks, Jerry Smith and J.O. Isaac.
Earl Marshall
Earl Marshall, 70, of Springdale, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004, in his home. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier after 29 years with the last 15 years being in Cabot. He was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts, a Methodist, and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; his mother, Ruby Mae Marshall of Walls, Miss.; two sons, Jonathan Marshall of Brooklyn, New York; Jason Marshall of Springdale; and one sister, Patricia Taylor of Walls, Miss.; a daughter, Rebecca Sue Marshall.
A memorial service will be held at 1 P.M. Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Memorials may be made to the ALS Association, 27001 Agoura Road, Suite 150, Calabasas Hills, Calif. 91301-5104.

Larry Alvin Montgomery, age 59 of Cabot, died Dec. 10, 2004. He was a retired police officer.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Cross Montgomery of Cabot; his mother, Lela Montgomery of Cabot; two daughters, Lisa Williams of Austin and Lynn Styers of Cabot; one sister, Margaret Montgomery of Cabot; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchild.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 14 in the Chapel of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Graves officiating. Burial followed in Rest Hills Memorial Park in North Little Rock.

Lois Theresa Crane, age 68, died Dec. 6, 2004.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Crane; three sons, Jeff Crane and Bill Crane of Lonoke and Michael McCartney of Alabama; three daughters, Diane McCartney and Julie Mann of Searcy and Trisha Collins of Scott; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Margaret Johnson of South Dakota, Mary Eland and Bonita Huff of South Dakota and Lucy Schultz of Wisconsin.
Graveside services were Thursday at Hamilton cemetery.

Nona Lavern Schrock Davis, 88, died Dec. 6, 2004.
She was retired from Sears. She was a member of First Christian Church in Stuttgart.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, William Duppie Davis; two daughters, Sandra Scherm of Stuttgart and Judi Bornhoft of Jonesboro; two sons, Ralph “Duppie” Davis of Stuttgart and Bill Davis of Jacksonville; four sisters, Luella Davis of Carlisle, Alta Wesinger of Stuttgart, Ruby Relyea of Almyra and Wilma Smith of Hot Springs Village; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

David L. Henley
David Lynell Henley, age 80 of Sherwood died Dec. 12, 2004. He was a hoisting engineer with Boyles Brothers and a fireman for North Little Rock.
He is survived by one daughter, Brenda Davis of Sherwood; one son, Michael Henley of Austin; two sisters, Sybil Durbin of Wiggins, Colo., and Bernice Brackin of North Little Rock; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Dec. 15 at Faulkner Gap Baptist Church of North Little Rock with Rev. David Maynard officiating. Burial followed in Harmony cemetery, North Little Rock. Pallbearers were David Henley, Robert Branstetter, Billy Starks, Brad Davis, Brandon Davis and Sonny Davis. Honorary pallbearers were the Spirit Riders.

Austin Buercklin
Austin Buercklin, age 92, of Greers Ferry died Dec. 12, 2004.
He is survived by his second wife of 11 years, Roena Evans Buercklin of Greers Ferry; son Glenn Buercklin of Greers Ferry, son John Buercklin of Cabot; stepdaughter Jody Clayton of Fort Smith; stepson David Watts of Conway, stepson Carroll Watts of Greenbrier; 34 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Westside First Baptist Church in Greers Ferry, where he served as treasurer for many years. He farmed for several years before being employed by the Memphis District of the Corps of Engineers as a surveying rodman in 1935. He was chief of surveying and mapping of the Little Rock District Corps of Engineers, from which position he retired in 1968 after 33 years of service. After retiring from the Corps of Engineers he formed Acreage Realty in Greers Ferry. He was a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a member of the Arkansas Association of Registered Land Surveyors - RLS #7, The Arkansas Razorback Post of the Society of American Military Engineers, The National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Photogrammetry, the Arkansas Society for Civil Engineers, the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, the Tri-County Board of Realtors, Cleburne County Board of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors, the Holiday Hills Association and Greers Ferry Area Chamber of Commerce.
Service was held at Westside First Baptist Church, Greers Ferry, with burial in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens, Heber Springs.

Betty M. Free, 70, of Maddox Bay, died Dec. 12, 2004.
After retiring as a line supervisor for 23 years at Sanyo Manufacturing, she earned her CNA degree and worked in home health care for 12 years.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, C.J. Free Jr. of Maddox Bay; and three sons, Joe Free of Cabot, Jeff Free of Cabot, and Max Free of Hollister, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church in Holly Grove Dec. 15.

Dennis D. Weaver, 45, of Jacksonville died Dec. 8, 2004.
He worked for Jeffery Sand Company and was a member of First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock.
