Henry McMoran
Henry “Hank” McMoran, 68, of Lonoke died Oct. 31, 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Edna McMoran; four brothers, Woodrow, Ed, Jim and Mickey; and three sisters, Opal, Mae and Martha.
Funeral services were Wednesday, at Huson Funeral Home Chapel, Sherwood.
Myrtle Iona Lloyd
Myrtle Iona Lloyd, 92, of Hazen died Oct. 28, 2004.
Survivors: sons, Jimmy Lloyd of Stuttgart and Freddie Lloyd of Hazen; a daughter, Betty May of Humnoke; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Saturday at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Flossie A. Swafford
Flossie Agness Swafford, 89, of Beebe died Oct. 28, 2004.
She is survived by two daughters, Luetta Armstrong of Reyno, and Naomi Young of Lonoke; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and one brother, Bennie Orris Gray of El Paso, Texas.
Funeral was Oct. 31, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Gray cemetery at Gravel Hill.
Betty L. Beckett
Betty Loraine Staib Beckett, age 78, of Cabot, died Oct. 29, 2004.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane S. Beckett of Austin; granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were Nov. 2 at Mount Carmel cemetery, with Cabot Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Joyce A. Corn
Joyce A. (Chandler) Corn, 65, of Sherwood died Oct. 28, 2004.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sherwood and the Faith Sunday School Class.
Survivors are her husband, Arnold Corn; two sons, Tony Corn of Ward and Randy Corn of Lonoke; one sister, Bobbie Coleman of Marysville, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday at First Baptist Church of Sherwood with burial at Rest Hills Memorial Park. North Little Rock Funeral Home was in charge.
Graveside services were Saturday, at Murfreesboro cemetery, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Murfreesboro.
Memorials may be made to Pike County Hospital.
Robert Louis Jones
Robert Louis (Bob) Jones, 69, of Cabot, Arkansas, died Thursday, August 5, 2004, following heart surgery. He was born May 29, 1935, in Plumerville, Arkansas, to the late Samuel Jones and Mattie Sue Johnson Jones. After graduating from Plumerville High School and the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, he worked as a Certified Public Accountant. Before his retirement in 2001, he served as President and CEO of five banks; First National Bank of Magnolia, Merchants and Planters Bank of Camden, Heber Springs State Bank, Citizen’s National Bank of Jacksonville, and Citizen’s Bank of Beebe. He received a governor’s appointment to serve on the Arkansas Industrial Development Commission.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Velma Minton Jones; two sons, Keith (Tami) Jones of Conway and Clay (Lisa) Jones of McKinney, Texas; one daughter, Cathy (Bret) Foreman of Beebe; two step-daughters, DeAnn (Randy) Henson of Cabot and Sara (Tom) Phillips of Denton, Texas; seven grandchildren, Robbie and Ryan Jones, Lara and Andy Foreman, Ashley, Gabrielle and Tara Jones; four step-grandchildren, Alex Bratton, Rachel Roper, Ben and Laura Phillips; and Cora Ann Jones, mother of his children.
Visitation was at 10 a.m. Saturday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, August 8, 2004, at First United Methodist Church in Cabot, with burial in Sylvania cemetery.
Appropriate memorials include the Arkansas Razorback Foundation (P.O. Box 3518, Fayetteville, AR 72702) and the American Heart Association.
William D. Campbell
William David “Dub” Campbell, 74, of Beebe, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004. He was retired from Alcoa in Bauxite, Arkansas and was a U.S. Navy World War II Veteran and a 32nd degree Mason.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sara Campbell and five children, Ricky and Rita Campbell of Beebe, Charlie and Carolyn Campbell of Lonoke, Randy and Kathy Campbell of Lonoke, Debbie and Mike Miranda of Casa Grande, Ariz., Susan and Dickie Lakey of Lonoke; one sister, Jeannie Phillips of North Little Rock; three brothers, Dwight Campbell of North Little Rock, Morgan Campbell of Beebe and Sonny Peters of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Family received friends Sunday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral was Monday, Aug. 9, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Hickory Plains cemetery.
Todd Jackson Miles
Todd Jackson Miles, 29, of Carlisle, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 8, 2004. Todd was an honor graduate of Carlisle High School and graduated from Arkansas State University, cum laude, with a BS in Finance. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity where he served as president. Todd was a financial advisor and certified financial planner with Merrill Lynch, Little Rock, since 1998.
Todd loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was active in First United Methodist Church in Carlisle and witnessed through his singing and his love of people.
He is survived by his parents, Leon and Mary Lou Miles of Crossroads; his sister and brother-in-law, Jill and Brian Cunningham of Carlisle; two very special nephews, Miles and Carson Cunningham; his grandmother, Lois Jackson of Carlisle and many friends.
Funeral will be 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, August 11, 2004, at First United Methodist Church, Carlisle with private burial in Hickory Plains cemetery. Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
Memorials may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, or Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
David H. Carter
David Houston Carter, 35, departed this life Aug. 1, 2004.
He was born June 17, 1969 in Little Rock, Ark.
David was the son of Billy and Frances Carter of Cabot.
David leaves to mourn his passing one son, Cade; his mother, Frances; and one brother, Richard, all of the home; one sister, Karen Kampher of Corpus Christi, Texas; and a host of friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Carter; a brother, Billy Wayne Carter; maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 6 at 1 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke.
David’s final resting place was in Arkansas Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville.
Eldon H. Douglas III
Rev. Eldon Herbert Douglas III, 69, of Little Rock, died Aug. 7, 2004.
A veteran of the Navy, he attended St. Paul’s Pastor’s Course of Study in Kansas City, Mo., and served Arkansas congregations in Holly Grove, Lonoke, Traskwood, Tull, and Fountain Lake. He was recently appointed Pastor Emeritus at Mabelvale United Methodist Church. He retired from Entergy after 35 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Margaret Douglas; a brother, Wallace Douglas of Little Rock; two sons, Eldon H. Douglas IV and Thomas Patrick Douglas, both of Little Rock; two daughters, Dana Leigh Brown, and Susan Naomi Cary both of Benton; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were Aug. 10, at Mabelvale United Methodist Church, with burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth was in charge.
