Bobby J. Adams
Bobby J. Adams, 75, of Austin, died May 21, 2004.
He was retired from the Little Rock School District’s Transportation Department and had also retired in 1967 as a Naval Master Chief Petty Officer (E-9 ) and was a Seabee. He was a member of Austin Station Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
Survivors include his children, Rick Adams of McNeil, Beckey Melton of North Little Rock, and Sue Williams of Austin; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charlie Adams, of Benton.
Memorials may be made in his memory to Arkansas Hospice Center, Conway, Ark.
A celebration of his life was held May 24.
Mary Jo Shaw
Mary Jo Shaw, 78, of Union Hill, died May 18, 2004.
She was a member of the White River Baptist Church in Oil Trough.
She is survived by four sons, Jerry Shaw of Union Hill, Larry Shaw of Batesville, Bill Shaw of Oil Trough, and Dennis Shaw of Judsonia ; five daughters, Mary Looney, Lacreta Money, Connie Starr, and Joyce Moyer, all of Batesville, and Brenda Palmer of Cabot; 27 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Bill and Charles Hampton of Greers Ferry, and John Hampton of Jonesboro.
Funeral was Friday, May 21, at the White River Baptist Church at Oil Trough, with interment at Brown’s Memorial cemetery at Union Hill. Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home was in charge.

Harold Fowler
Harold Fowler, age 45 of Cabot, died Friday.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Fowler; father, Charles R. Fowler; mother, Cassinita Fowler; daughters, Niki Fowler and Brittney Fowler.
Funeral services were Monday at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Oak Grove cemetery in Weiner.
Mary Ellen Gruber
Mary Ellen Gruber, age 68, of Cabot, died May 18, 2004.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Conway.
She is survived by two daughters - Peggy Hoffman of Conway, and Karen Miller of Cabot; her son - Jim Gruber of Bedford, Texas; four grandsons; her sister, Colleen Cook of Russellville; and four brothers - Joe Pierce of West Memphis, Jimmy Pierce of Indiana, Jerry Pierce of Bella Vista, and Johnny Pierce of Clarksville.
Funeral was Friday, May 21, 2004, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, Little Rock, with burial at Roselawn cemetery.

Pearl B. Mathis
Pearl B. Mathis, 94, of Lonoke, died May 18, 2004.
She is survived by four daughters, Opal Jones of Lonoke, Deanie Kee of Horseshoe Lake, Shirley Popejoy of Mabelvale, and Glynda Parks of Conway; two sons, Dee L. Mathis, Jr., of Lonoke, and Glenn Mathis of Tennessee; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren ; 10 great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held May 22, at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Roller-Drummond Southwest Funeral Home was in charge.
John Calvin Burgess
John Calvin Burgess, age 76, of Cabot died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003. He was retired from Remington Arms, a deacon and church superintendent of Campground Union Church.
Surviving are his wife, Sidney; two daughters, Phyllis Childers of Mayflower and Tracy Martineau of Cabot; two stepsons, Tony Cathey and Terry Cathey, of Cabot; eight grandchildren, great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lloyd Burgess of Austin, Earl and Robert Burgess, both of Cabot; three sisters, Louise Skinner of Austin, Patsy Dodd of Cabot and Marcie Watson of Benton.
Visitation was Wednesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
Funeral was Thursday, at Campground Union Church, Campground Road, Cabot, with burial in Sylvania cemetery.
Jean Parsons
Jean Parsons, 76, of Cabot died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003. She was a resident of Graham’s Foster Home for the Elderly in Cabot.

Kenneth T. Woodall
Kenneth Thomas Woodall, age 73, of Beebe, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003. He was retired from Strickland Transportation Company and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Helen Woodall; three sons, Kenny Woodall of Beebe, Dale Woodall of Austin, Scott Woodall of Beebe; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Clarice Murray of Traskwood, Laveta Caldwell of Cabot and Shirley Polk of Hobart, Okla.
Visitation was Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003.
Funeral was Friday, Dec. 12, 2003 at Westbrook Chapel, with burial in Antioch cemetery.
Shane A. Sledge
Shane Anthony Sledge, 27, of El Paso died recently.
Survivors are his wife, Denetria; children, Hunter, Curtis and Elizabeth; his mother, Deborah; and sister, Crystal Sledge, all of El Paso.

Louise Edith Prewitt
Louise Edith Prewitt, 99, died Dec. 8, 2003.
Survivors are three grandchildren; a foster son, Paul Choate; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Martha L. Wilson
Martha Looper Wilson, 79, of Cabot died Dec. 13, 2003.
Survivors are her children, Billy Wilson of Cabot, Troy Wilson of Rogers, Etta “Henrietta” Starkey, Pat Reyes and Diana Miller, all of Cabot; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Dec. 16 at the Roller-Drummond Southwest Funeral Chapel. Interment was in Pinecrest Memorial Park.
