William Chapman
William Franklin Chapman, 62, of Austin died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007. He was a 1962 graduate of Searcy High School, served 21 years in the United States Army; three tours in Vietnam; and was an instructor at the Sergeants Major Academy. He retired from the military in 1989 and from the United States Postal Service in 2003.
He was born Aug. 9, 1944, in Searcy, Ark., to. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Vernon and Rhena Marvella Sullivan Chapman, and brother Robert Vernon Chapman, Jr.
He is survived by his wife R. Sue Chapman, of Austin; son Specialist Ben Chapman of the U.S. Army in Clarksville, Tenn.; daughter Gina Chapman of Kenmore, Wash.; brother Larry Chapman of Searcy; and one grandchild.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 1 p.m., at Arkansas State Veterans cemetery in Sherwood.
Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or to Bill and Sue’s Tunica Fund.
Cremation arrangements are by Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
Richard P. Chudy
Richard Paul Chudy, 59, of Hazen died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007.
He graduated from Hazen High School, and attended Arkansas Tech University. After years of working with the North Little Rock Recreation Center, he became a farmer and a parishioner of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Slovak.
He was preceded in death by a nephew Rodney Brasko.
He is survived by his parents Ed and Frances Chudy of Hazen; daughters Natalye and Kristina Chudy of Conway; sisters Judy Brasko and husband Robert of Slovak and Carol Marvin and husband Tim of Cabot; and brother Jim Chudy of Hazen.
The funeral mass was held Saturday, Feb. 17, at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Slovak. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Mary A. Hayes
Mary Alice Hayes, 70, of Cabot died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007. She was an office manager for the city of North Little Rock and a member of Concord United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Hayes.
She is survived by her daughter Tammy Smith and husband Rayburn; one granddaughter; and longtime companion, A.C. Ballentine.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Concord United Methodist Church, with Bro. Leon Gray and Bro. Bob Marble officiating. Interment was in Edgewood Memorial Park.
Arrangements were by Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood.
John R. Moses
John Ray Moses, 54, of North Little Rock died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007., in North Little Rock. He was born Aug. 2, 1952, to the late Johnny Mack and Betty M. Denton Moses in Forrest City, Ark. He is preceded in death by his parents Johnny Mack and Betty M. Denton Moses, and children Theresa and John, Jr.
Survivors include his sons Daniel Moses and wife Jessica, of Jacksonville, and Mike Moses and wife Callie of Little Rock; daughters Chrissy Moses and Stephanie Childress both of Little Rock; brothers and sisters Elizabeth McLean-Bowen, and Bill Moses both of Jacksonville, Jerry Moses and wife Andrea of Sherwood, Star Bartlett of Cabot, and Robby Moses of Lonoke; special friend, Judy Sain; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at Berea Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Interment will follow in Arkansas Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under the direction of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.
Wolfe C. Gray
Wolfe Calvin Gray, 82, of England died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 47 years, Dorothy Shadden Gray; three brothers, and one sister.
Survivors include his sister Marbell Ryan Smith of Lonoke, and three sisters-in-law.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 15, at Roller-England Funeral Home with Bro. Tom Heffner officiating. Burial was in Union Valley cemetery in Coy.
Fredrick L. Toms
Fredrick Lee Toms, 50, of Lonoke, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007. He was employed at Quality Wholesale Building Products in North Little Rock.
He was preceded in death by his father Levi Toms; grandmother Isabella Hines, and grandfather George Goosby.
Survivors include his mother Hannah Toms; sisters Lela Joyce Harris and Shirley Jones; and brother Connie Toms.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 17, at New Jerusalem Church of God In Christ in Lonoke. Interment followed at Lonoke cemetery.
Arrangements were by Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home in Little Rock.
Bernice P. Morris
Bernice Pearl Morris, 87, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her son Bobby Armstrong and wife Terry of Lonoke; daughter Mary Dormmey of Benton; brothers Joe Highland of Cabot and Lynn Highland of North Little Rock; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great grandchildren and her dog Little Cody.
Funeral Services were held Monday, Oct. 30, at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel in Lonoke with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements were by Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.
Lyndel Stender
Lyndel “Butch” Stender, 60, of Jacksonville died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006. He was president of Equipment Sales for Lamanco and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown.
He was preceded in death by his father LeRoy A. Stender and brother Ricky Stender.
Survivors include mother Marjorie Lindenberg of Watertown, Minn.; sons Lyndel Stender and wife Cathleen of Jacksonville and Jeffrey Stender of Little Rock; daughter Kimberly Stender-Vann and husband David Vann of Cabot; brother Larry Stender of Waconia, Minn.; sisters Connie Gatz of Lester Prairie, Minn., Sherrie Leuthner of Branson, Mo., Linda Stieve of DelAno, Minn., Patsy Schug of Watertown, Minn., and Luann Christopherson of Young America, Minn.; and six grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Monday, Oct. 30, at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home. Entombment followed in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
