Rev. Pryor Cruce
Reverend Pryor R. Cruce, 79, of Fort Smith died on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006. He was a retired minister serving in many Arkansas churches. He was active in Wesley United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Pryor and Alma Cruce Sr., and sister Sallye Caviness.
Survivors include his wife Doris; daughter Pamela Cruce of North Little Rock; sons Martin and wife Nancy of Little Rock, Daniel and wife Laura of Fort Smith, Steven and wife Karen of Dewey, Okla., and Kenneth Cruce and wife Elisabeth of Ozark, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and brother Jimmy Cruce and wife Sammie of Lonoke.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Wesley United Methodist Church under the direction of Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith.
Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 2200 Phoenix Ave., Fort Smith, Ark. 72901; or the Mount Eagle United Methodist Retreat Center.
Arrangements are by Putman Funeral Home, 4500 Jenny Lind, Fort Smith.
Nella Mae Ray
Nella Mae Ray, 47, of Cabot died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006.
She is survived her husband of 29 years Min. Steve Ray; daughter Lawanna T. Ray; sons Steve C. and Amos T. Ray all of Little Rock; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 27, at Damascus Baptist Church in Grady
Arrangements were by Premier Funeral Home in Little Rock.
Carolyn Brown
Carolyn Jean (Harris) “Nana” Brown, 77, of Little Rock died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006. She was a lifetime member of Little Rock First Church of the Nazarene.
She was born Nov. 2, 1928, in Little Rock, Ark., to She was preceded in death by her husband W.C. “Buster” Brown; parents Joseph and Helen (Powell) Harris; and son William H. “Buddy” Brown.
She is survived by her daughters Iris Isgrig and husband Michael R. Isgrig of North Little Rock, and Sue Roberson and husband Gene of Great Exuma, Bahamas; sister Francis Jones of Cabot; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Little Rock First Church of the Nazarene. Burial followed at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Arrangements were by Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth in Little Rock.
Nancy Lee Utz
Nancy Lee Utz, 62, of Cabot died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006.
She is survived by her husband David R. Utz; two daughters; one son; one sister; 13 grandchildren ; and one great-grandchild.
A private memorial service is being planned.

Shelba J. Baker
Shelba J. Baker, 70, of Jacksonville died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006. She was a dance instructor as a young woman, more recently, a member of Nail Benders as a member of “Grannies on the Go,” where she helped to provide lap rugs and wheelchair caddies to nursing home residents.
Survivors include her husband Joe W. Baker of Jacksonville; children James Baker, Sheila Greishiemer and husband Tommy, and David Baker and wife Lisa, all of Memphis, Tenn., and Carol Smith and husband Darryl of Cabot; brother Roger Powell and wife Carlie of Watson Chapel; sister Roberta Gill and husband Jeff of Clarksville; and stepfather R.C. Hughes of Clarksville; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Elliot officiating. Interment followed in the Arkansas State Veterans cemetery in North Little Rock.
Funeral arrangements were under direction of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home.
Bonny O’Neal
Bonny Lee “Domino” O’Neal, 69, of Lonoke, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006.
He was born Oct. 21, 1937 in Scotland, Ark. to the late Norman O’Neal and Lila D. Brents O’Neal. He was a truck driver and an Army Veteran from the Korean Conflict. He was also a master mason at the Beebe Lodge #145.
O’Neal is survived by one sister, Mary McKinney of Lonoke and one brother, William L. O’Neal of Morrilton.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 26, at Trinity Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Burial was at Pleasant Grove cemetery at Scotland, by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Clarence Larkan
Clarence Lee Larkan, 50, left this earth Oct. 24, 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Moody Larkan; three children, Kevin Larkan, Chrystal Siler and Amanda Mcconaha, all of Beebe; parents, Clarence W. and Ella May Larkan of Lonoke; one brother, Ricky Larkan of North Little Rock; two sisters, Anita Schenebeck of Lonoke and Shirley Sanders of Sherwood; four grandchildren, Justin, Madison, Cody and Garret and many relatives and friends.
Friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be Friday, 11 a.m. at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke.
Tina A. Watts
Tina A. Hill Watts, 40, of Cabot, formerly of Arkadelphia, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006. She worked at Arkansas Oncology in Little Rock and was a member of Chalybeate Valley Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father Curtis O. Hill.
Survivors include her husband John Watts; daughters Kristine Fuller of Georgia, and Amber Dawn Watts of Kansas; mother Betty Hill of Arkadelphia; brother Kevin Hill of Arkadelphia; sisters Paula Webb of Midway, and Pamela Whitley of Manteca, Calif.; grandmother Connie Hill of Arkadelphia; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Chalybeate Valley Missionary Baptist Church near Alpine. Interment was in Hill cemetery by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
Tomazene Howell
Tomazene Olita Howell passed away on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who spent her life loving her God, her family, and her church.
She was born on Jan. 12, 1923, in Paragould the third of ten children of J. Sam and Anna Thompson of Paragould. She was married
on Christmas Day of 1942 to Jewel Ernest Howell of Cabot, who survives her. She is also survived by her three children and their spouses, Samuel Ernest and Jo Howell of Cabot, Juliana and Mike Coleman of North Little Rock, and Ronnie Allen and Lynne Howell of Memphis; her six grandchildren, Laura Ferguson, Brian Howell, David Coleman, Justin Coleman, Amy Coleman and Steven Howell; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her sisters Reba Shivley of Kennett, Mo., Anna Hudgins of Paragould, Sammye Rottluff of Hot Springs Village, Martha Jumper of Paragould, and her brother Homer Thompson of Blytheville.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Merle Thompson of Jonesboro, J.W. Thompson of Paragould, Maurice Thompson of Jonesboro, and her sister Rebecca Childress of Jonesboro.
She was and active member of Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro for 37 years and a member of the First Baptist Church of Cabot for the last five years of her life. She loved her church, regularly worshiped with her family and was also a tireless worker in the nursery at the church. She was a fifty-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, in which she was also a past Worthy Matron of the Beebe Chapter. Mrs. Howell was also a past president of the Beebe Business and Professional Women’s Club. Her family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Music Ministry of the First Baptist Church of Cabot.
The family received friends on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at Cabot Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Memorial service will be Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Cabot. A private burial will be held at Arkansas State Veteran’s cemetery in North Little Rock.
