Wayne A. Bland
Wayne A. Bland, 62, of Ward died at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas, on October 27, 2006. He was born June 19, 1944. He was a dairy farmer before retiring from AMPI as a truck driver. Wayne was a member of Cabot United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife Frances and his father Dewitt Bland. Survivors are his mother, Helen Trotter of Cabot; his sister Emilea Rooney (Roger); two beloved nephews DeWayne Rooney and Chuck Rooney (Laura); great niece and nephew Jenifer and Gabriel Rooney, all of Ward.

Mildred L. Goad
Mildred Linn Goad, 93, of Benton, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Benton and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 59 years Denis Goad, infant daughter, four brothers, and three sisters.
Survivors include her sons Scott and wife Sharon of Cabot, and Edwin Goad and wife, Janice of Houston; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services by Ashby Funeral Home were held Thursday, Oct. 26, at New Rosemont cemetery.
Justin Wayne Davis
Justin Wayne Davis, 18, of Cabot died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandfather Travis Wayne “Butch” Davis Sr.; uncle Gary Davis; four great-grandmothers and three great-grandfathers.
He is survived by his parents Travis Wayne Jr. and Jeani Davis of Cabot; brothers Brandon, Dylin and Sawyer Davis; sister Hannah Davis; and paternal grandmother Evelyn “Carol” Davis all of Cabot; maternal grandparents Kenneth and Linda Tausan; and maternal great-grandfather Dewayne Magnuson all of Ogallala, Neb.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 14, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot with interment immediately following at Mount Carmel cemetery. Arrangements were by Thomas Funeral Service in Cabot.
Evelyn L. Harris

Evelyn Lucille Harris, 90, of Cabot passed away Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at the Arkansas Hospice Center in North Little Rock. She was born Nov. 28, 1915 in Chaffee, Mo.
She was a member of the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Cabot.
She was a graduate of St. Ambrose High School in Chaffee, Mo. In 1934, she was wed to Ralph Stanley Harris. During the 1950s she advocated equal education rights and spent the rest of her life as a homemaker raising several generations of children. She loved to sew, cook, play bridge, fish and volunteered her time and skills to many causes and organizations through the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Ava and Alvin Papin; brothers, Lewis “Bud” and Joe Papin; sister, Alvina Schwaller; sons, William Eugene “Gene” and Brian Carlton Harris.
She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Chris Harris of Little Rock, Sandy Pearson, Kelly Coughlin, and Kristen “Kish” Gardner, seven great-grandchildren, all of Cabot, and three nieces, Pat Birkholz of Foristel, Mo., Sara Armellini of Eureka Springs, Janet Sharp of Salt Lake City, Utah; and two nephews, Dan Powell Melton or Jonesboro and Darrell Melton of Tennessee.
Visitation was at Cabot Funeral Home, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2006. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, at the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Cabot.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Arkansas Hospice Center or Potluck Food Rescue.
Beverly Langston
Beverly Shannon Brown Langston, age 36, departed this life to be with the Lord Monday, Aug. 7, 2006.
She left to cherish her memory a son Darien C. Langston; one daughter Lindsay M. Hassenstab; her father and mother Oliver and Sandra Brown; and sisters Ellen D. Boyette and Amanda C. Wright (Curt) all of Cabot; her grandmother Bessie Brown of Lonoke; and seven nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Friday, Aug. 11, at Brownsville cemetery. Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
Mamie Ruth Boggs
Mamie Ruth Boggs, 77, of Cabot died Aug. 11, 2006, in Little Rock. She was born Aug. 4, 1929 to the late William and Emma Welch Riley in Hughes, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Otis L. Boggs; four brothers, Cliff Riley, Luther Riley, Lamar Riley and Eugene Riley; and a sister, Mae Winders.
She is survived by six children; Sandy Combs of Conway, Otis Boggs of Hickory Plains, John Boggs of Cabot, Jim Boggs of Cabot, Judy Thomas of Beebe and Kathy Michaelis of Cabot; a sister Ollie Belle Stivers of Beebe; brother Charles Riley of Memphis; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at Hickory Plains Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Tony Crye officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Carmel cemetery in Cabot. Arrangements are by Cabot Funeral Home.
Thresa Vines
Thresa Schiermeyer Vines, 77, of Cabot died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Schiermeyer Sr.; son Jeff Schiermeyer; and daughter Peggy Watson.
She is survived by her daughter Becky Ransom and husband Ron; son Bob Schiermeyer and wife Rebecca all of Cabot; sister Evelyn Harrell of Westminister, Va.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her special companion Pepper.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Sumner cemetery. Arrangements are by North Little Rock Funeral Home.

Kelly Ann Sweeney
Kelly Ann Sweeney, 39, of Casa died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006. She worked at Comcast Cable of Little Rock for 17 years as lead dispatcher.
She is survived by her son J.W. Sweeney and his father Jeff Sweeney of Lonoke; fiancee Jeff Robertson of Mount Ida; mother and stepfather Diane and Odell Alford of Little Rock; sisters Shelly Atkins of Bryant, Brenda Waleszonia of East End and Nikki and Amanda Gentry and Samantha Blair all of Little Rock; father H. Eddie Gentry of Benton; and stepmother Alice Christianson of Little Rock; and grandmothers Bobbie D. Shepherd of Little Rock, and Betty Sue Rone of Benton.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 15, in the Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements were by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home.
Mildred A. Hulsey
Mildred Arvilla Fisher Hulsey, 82 years old, of Mt. Ida, Ark., passed away August 12, 2006, in Mt. Ida. She was born on January 10, 1924, in Silver, Ark., to the late William and Martha Dement Fisher.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and six sisters.
Survivors include husband Andrew Hulsey; one daughter and son-in-law Peggy Etta Hulsey Anderson and Ronnie of Lonoke; four sons and daughters-in-law Andrew William and Jackie Hulsey of Wintersprings, Fla., John Howard Hulsey and Joe Lud Hulsey of Lonoke, and Jack Hal and Sheila Hulsey of McRae, Ark.; and two sisters Jennie L. Vanderford and Susie E. Brakefield.
Visitation was held Tuesday Aug. 15, 2006, from 3 to 6 p.m.
Services will be graveside at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at the Stanley-Standridge cemetery with Bro. Paul Burke officiating and under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home in Mt. Ida.
