Noah Cohl Madru
Noah Cohl Madru, 3, died Nov. 19, 2005.
He is survived by his mother, Krystle Madru; grandparents, Tom and Lu Madru of Austin; great-grandparents, Roy and Jean Chudy of Hickory Plains; and great-grandmother, Doris Madru of Jacksonville.
Funeral services were held Nov. 22 at the Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to your local Humane Society.
Leonard Wade Beard, Jr.
Leonard Wade Beard, Jr., 64, of Morrilton, died Nov. 20, 2005. He was an owner/operator of a sawmill and member of Sardis Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Maltbie Beard of Morrilton; sons, Arthur Wade Beard of Conway and Brian Scott Beard of Morrilton; daughter, Angela Todd of Maumelle; sisters, Jenny Daniel of Boaz, AL, Sarah Millbrad of Jacksonville, and Grace Williams of Little Rock; brother, James Beard of Cabot; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. on Wed., Nov. 23, at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Brian Pruett officiating.
Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements were by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
Wilbur Charles Huff
Wilbur Charles Huff, 81, of Cabot, died Nov. 14, 2005. He was born Oct. 11, 1924 to Hubert and Katherine Huff in Carlisle. Wilbur was a Retired United States Air Force Lt. Col., a member of Cabot United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Lion’s Club, MOAA, American Legion, AARP, Chamber of Commerce, and a lifetime member of Carlisle High School Alumni Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, David Scott Huff.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Sue Huff; three sons, Mark Stephen Huff of Glen Allen, VA, Terry Lee Huff of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Robert Charles Huff of Greenville, SC; step-son, Sammy Thurmon of American Canyon, CA; stepdaughter, Mary Humphries of Ward, and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005 at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home in Cabot.
Services are 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005 at Cabot United Methodist Church, with Rev. Richard Lancaster officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cabot United Methodist Church library or food pantry.
Richard L. Simmons
Richard Lynn Simmons, age 54, of Beebe, died Nov. 13, 2005. He served two tours in Vietnam with the Marines, was retired from Union Pacific Railroad and was Post Commander of VFW Post 7769 in Beebe.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Simmons; three sons, David Simmons of Crossett, Micheal Simmons of Jacksonville and Johnny Peeks of Beebe; one daughter, Tracy VanWinkle of Lonoke; and three sisters, Donna Scott, Linda Smith and Brenda Rackley, all of Jacksonville.
Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral at 2:00 p.m. at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Mtn. Springs cemetery.
Mildred Skinner
Mildred Skinner, age 87, of Cabot, formerly of Liberal, Kansas, passed away November 10, 2005. She was born October 23, 1918 in Gray, Oklahoma to the late Martin & Mildred Shuler.
Mildred was a very lacy, delicate but strong woman. She was involved in many organizations which include: Aurora Club, J.U.G., Liberal Women Federated Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, Life Member of P.T.A., Church Women United, Altar Society, Brownie Scout Leader and Farm Bureau Extension Belle of Hayne.
Preceding her in death is her husband Mervin Skinner, two daughters: Mervilyn Ann Skinner & Nancy Carol Skinner-Robertson; two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include a daughter Myra J. Maneth of Cabot; two sons-in-law: Marion Maneth of Cabot and Larry Robertson of Wichita, Kansas; five grandchildren: Darcy Adams, Jeff Maneth, Kris Heinz, Michelle O’Rear & Debbie O’Rear; and twelve great-grandchildren.
A Prayer Service will be held 6:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18, 2005 at St. Anthony’s Church in Liberal, Kansas with a reception immediately following. A Mass Service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005 at St. Anthony’s Church with interment services at Liberal cemetery in Liberal, Kansas. Shawn Ryan McGee
Shawn Ryan McGee, age 20, of Cabot, died Nov. 9, 2005.
Survivors include his parents, Joanna McGee & Douglas Meiggs; owner of Doug’s In and Out Auto Repair; two brothers: Bradley & Ethan McGee; grandmother Geneva McGee all of Cabot; great-grandmother Lucille Wheetley of Old Austin.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, at Campground Union Church, 2211 Campground Road, Cabot. Arrangements by Thomas Funeral Service.
Audie V. Carmical
Audie V. Carmical, 99, of Cabot, died, Nov. 7, 2005. She attended school at Faulkner Gap, worked at the Jacksonville Ordnance Plant during WWII; after the war she was employed at Bayou Meto School, and ran a successful dairy until 1962. She was a member of Sylvan Hills Community Church.
Survivors include one grandson; stepson, Gene Carmical of Jacksonville; and three step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Nov. 10 at the Cabot Funeral Home. Burial was at the Mount Chapel cemetery. Arrangements were by North Little Rock Funeral Home.
Billy Joe Cole
Billy Joe Cole, 73, of Carlisle, died Nov. 8, 2005.
He is survived by his wife Geneva Cole; daughter, Sara Seidenschwarz, both of Carlisle; three step-children, Marvin Daniels, Lisa Tounzen and Richard Daniels; three grandsons; five step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Halford and Eurcil Phillips; and brother, Boe Cole.
Funeral services were Nov. 10 at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel in Lonoke with interment in Hamilton cemetery in Carlisle.
Carrie I. Martin
Carrie Ivonne (Branom) Martin, 66, of Austin, died Nov. 11,2005. She worked as a CNA for Osceola Healthcare.
Survivors include her sons, William “Bo” Martin and
Bobby Martin both of Cabot; stepson, Virgil Wayne Martin of Batesvil]e; daughters, Debra Bettencourt of Hanford, CA, Donna Allen of Jacksonville; brothers, Teny Branom of Arizona and Glen Branom of Mesa, AZ; sisters: Rose Hailer of Visaha, CA, Liz Helms of Newbeny Springs, CA, Mary Blackwell of Phoenix, AZ, Loretta Price of Manila, and Marie Bjork, Tularc, CA; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from nonn to 2 p.m. on Thurs., Nov. 17, at the Roller Swift Funeral Home, Hwy. 61 South in Osceola. Funeral services will follow at the Roller-Swift Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. with Sister Glenda Medford officiating.
Interment will be at Manila cemetery in Manila.
Patricia A. Claghorn
Patricia “Pat” Ann Cook Claghorn, 66, of Fort Smith, died Nov. 9, 2005. She and her husband Frank, owned and operated Irish Maid Donuts, Inc. since 1960 when they moved to Fort Smith from Little Rock.
Funeral services were held Nov. 12 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
She is survived by her daughters, Tricia Grimes, Brenda Adair; sons, Franklin D. Claghorn, Jr., and James Claghorn both of Fort Smith; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren all of Fort Smith; sisters, Diane Scritchfield of El Dorado, and Grace Carson of Cabot.
