Mandy L. Brainard
Mandy L. Brainard, 88, of Little Rock died May 27, 2004.
She is survived by her husband, Allen; daughter, Janith Smith of Cabot; sons, James W. Harrison of Dayton, Ohio, Jack R. Harrison of Decatur, Ala.; brother, Joseph Everett of Nelson, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday at Huson Funeral Home Chapel, Sherwood, with interment at Arkansas State Veterans cemetery in North Little Rock.
Lillian Hoeftmann
Lillian Hoeftmann, 93, of Cabot, died May 23, 2004.
Graveside service was May 28, at Mt. Carmel cemetery. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.
Phillip H. Moore
Phillip H. Moore, 88, of Jacksonville died Friday, May 28, 2004.
He was retired from Vertac Inc. in Jacksonville, and was a WWII Army veteran and a lifetime member of the VFW.
He is survived by five sons, Philip E. Moore of Lonoke, Lue Moore, Jim Moore, Jessie Moore and Sam Moore, all of Jacksonville; three daughters, Barbara Hancock of DeValls Bluff, Sue Hall and Judy Nichols, both of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Tuesday at Stanfill Baptist Church and burial was in Harmony cemetery. North Little Rock Funeral Home was in charge.
Donna Lee Cushing
Donna Lee Cushing, age 54, of Harrison, died May 30, 2004.
She leaves behind her daughter of Searcy; her son Ronnie Sutton II of Bryant; and her sister Darlene Creasey of Harrison.

Barry Lynn Ray, age 46, of Cabot, died May 31, 2004.
He leaves behind his parents, O.W. Bill & Mildred Ray; two brothers: Timothy & Don Ray.

George Robert Jensen Jr., 56, of Cabot died March 31, 2004. He is survived by his wife Linda Jensen of Cabot. Funeral services were in Dunlap, Tenn.

Benjamin R. Borland
Benjamin Ray Borland, 82, born May 2, 1921 died April 2, 2004 in Cabot, Arkansas, where he lived for 20 years. Benjamin was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Cabot. He was preceded in death by parents Ralph and Mae Borland, in-laws Marshall and Bessie Ford; and sister Ruth Borland. Survivors include wife Peggy Borland of Cabot; sons Jerry Borland of Woodson, AR; Jim Borland of Flushing, MI; Larry Borland of Knoxville, TN; sister Violet Hake of Homer City, PA; nieces Fran Jennings and Linda Campbell of Homer City, PA; 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and many cousins and friends. Benjamin was a lifetime member of the VFW #10442 and a 50 year member of Carpenters Brotherhood.

Sybil Molene Cook
Sybil Molene Cook, 80, of Ward went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 30, 2004. She was born June 29, 1923 in Romance, AR to Joseph Dewey and Geneva (Gill) Chamblee. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Leland Chamblee, and sisters James Marshall and Daphene Brewer. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Virgle J. Cook; children, Sue Ellerbee (John), Sharon Carmical (Gilbert), Dwight Cook (Merlene), Gail Cook, and Larry Cook (Kim). She is also survived by sisters, Emma Madding, Laura Eubanks; brothers Joe Chamblee, Dewey Chamblee, and Wondle Chamblee; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Molene served as Ward City Clerk for 17 years. A faithful lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Ward, she served as Director of Children’s Sunday School, and was involved in a homebound ministry. She was a beloved wife, caring mother, and grandmother who was a faithful Christian example to her family. Her family will miss her greatly, but realize that she is home with her Lord. We will always remember her Godly example of love and unselfishness.

Ada L. Fiedler
Ada L. Fiedler, 80, born December 21, 1923 to Virginia and William G. Fiedler in Ward, AR, died April 3, 2004. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brothers; Cliff and Les Fiedler and one sister; Lodema Sherlock. She is survived by sisters, Eva L. Bouse and Victoria Reece, a number of nieces, nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. Ada played basketball with Hazel Walker’s ball team. She was employed for many years as an accountant for Briley’s Produce and was also an employee of A.M.F. bicycle plant in Little Rock. Shelby Askew Walker
Shelby Jean Askew Walker, 66, of Cabot, Arkansas, passed away Friday, April 2, 2004. Born on January 13, 1938, in Marysville, Arkansas, to Patrick and Dossie Askew, she graduated from Mt. Holly High School in 1956 and enjoyed playing basketball while in school.
Shelby was a devoted wife and enjoyed a marriage of forty-seven years to Mr. Jackie Walker, a retired railroad man. From that marriage a child, Shelly Ann Walker Anthony, blessed her with two grandchildren, Taylor and Blaze, whom her love and loyalty was witnessed by all.
Guided by her convictions and unwavering love for her family, Shelby derived enjoyment from the simple pleasures of life. She supported and participated in any sport or event her daughter and granddaughters were involved in. Shelby was a strong and vital member of our community who gave unselfishly to others regardless of personal sacrifice.
Shelby was never too busy or too tired to comfort a friend or make someone’s life a little easier. Her strength and dedication to those she loved will live forever in our hearts and her gentle smile forever in our memories.
Shelby is survived by husband, Jackie Walker; daughter Shelly and son-in-law Kenneth Anthony and her two pride and joy granddaughters, Blaze and Taylor, of Cabot; sisters, Jane Askew of Houston, Texas and Shirley Nesbit of Eldorado, Arkansas. She was predeceased by her sister, Patsey Colbus, of Topeka Kansas. Blessed are the pure at heart for they shall see God.

Margaret H. Campbell
Margaret Hämm Campbell, 89, of Lonoke passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2004. She was born on July 2, 1914, in Lonoke, the daughter of the late Charles E. and Zilpah Harris Hämm of Lonoke. A homemaker and life-long member of First Christian church, she was an elder of the church and longtime caretaker, who so often could be seen tending to the grounds or at home in her beloved flower garden. Also preceding her in death were her husband, James Ernest Campbell, and three brothers: Edward Barton Hämm, Charles E. “Snook” Hämm, Jr. and Joseph Louie Hämm. Survivors include a brother, Jacob Meyer Hämm of Weatherford Texas, and two children: James Edward (Felecia) Campbell of Huntsville, Arkansas, and Margaret “Judy” (Johnny) King of Lonoke.
A Memorial service was conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 2 and First Christian Church in Lonoke with burial in Lonoke cemetery. William R. Robinson
William R. Robinson, 77, of Sherwood, died March 30, 2004.
Bill attended Little Rock Public Schools, Little Rock Jr. College, and University of Arkansas and received his LLB from Arkansas Law School and his Juris Doctorate from UALR. He was a member of the Arkansas Bar Association for over 50 years. A Veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member and Past Master of Western Star Masonic lodge #2 F. & A. M. for over 50 years and was a member of First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock.
He is survived by his wife, Lorine Heard Robinson; two sons, Tim Robinsonof Greenbrier and Chris Robinson of Cabot; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, James Robinson of Malvern; and two sisters, Grace Albertson of Washington and Bess Ambort of Louisiana.
A gathering was held Thursday, April 1, at Griffin-Leggett-Rest Hills Funeral Home.
Graveside services were Friday, at Rest Hills Memorial Park with Reverend Sam Parker and Western Star #2 Lodge officiating.
