Allen R. Dahnke
Allen Richard Dahnke, 70, of Paragould died Feb. 20, 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Dee Meurer Dahnke of the home; a son, John Kukla of Traverse City, Mich.; daughters, Cindy Tedder of Paragould, Donna Wilkerson of Cabot, Diane Stepanovich of Farmington and Cheryl Kukla of Traverse City, Mich.; and nine grandchildren.
He was a member of the Seventh and Mueller Church of Christ in Paragould. He was a part time employee of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, and was an Air Force veteran.
Funeral was Feb. 23 at the Seventh and Mueller Church of Christ in Paragould with burial in Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Vines Carlton Gray
Vines Carlton Gray, 77, of Cabot died Feb. 17, 2004.
He was a member of Christ Worship Center at Cabot.
Survivors include a brother, W.C. Gray of Cabot; a sister, Marvel Smith of Austin.
Funeral was Feb. 21 at Olmstead Funeral Chapel in Heber Springs, with burial in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Quitman.
William K. Ashlin
William Kenneth Ashlin of Redwater, Texas died Feb. 18, 2004.
He was a member and former elder of the Redwater Church of Christ, and a former member of the Civil Air Patrol. He was a decorated veteran of World War II.
Survivors are sons, Larry Ashlin of Redwater, Texas, Bobby Ashlin of Jacksonville, Randy Ashlin of Beaumont, Texas; five sisters, Berta Barnett of Russ, Texas, Marie Cross and Maxine Spain of Jacksonville, Bonnie Culwell of Kansas City, Mo. and Mary Larkin of Cabot; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral was Feb. 20 at East Funeral Home Inc., Texas, with burial in Redwater cemetery.
Laura Lee Lewis
Laura Lee Lewis, age 49, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004
Survived by her husband Harold Lewis; sons, Cori L. Biggs and Charles A. Lewis; and daughter, Katie M. Lewis.

Lester Lee Davis
Lester Lee Davis, Sr., 53, died Jan. 11, 2004.
Survivors; children, Lee and Randy Davis, Tina Batty, Beebe, Tammy Davis ,Ward, two grandsons, eight granddaughters, his mother Tiny Goodman of Cabot, brothers, Gene, Joe, Buddy and Raymond Davis and Jr. Thurmond and one sister, Lois Hicks.

C. J. (Patsy) Miller
Catherine June (Patsy) Miller, 72, of Little Rock, passed away January 15, 2004. She was born June 14, 1931, to Albert H. and Ida Catherine Ray Kittler in Carlisle, Arkansas. She was a graduate of Carlisle High School Class of 1950 and received her Bachelor of Science Education from the University of Central Arkansas in 1954, where she was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker who previously taught at Pulaski Heights Elementary and Romine Elementary in Little Rock, and Crossett Elementary. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School classes for many years. June loved going to estate sales, shopping at Harry’s Market, and visiting with friends. She will be remembered as a good friend, neighbor, and very caring person. Her grandchildren were the delight of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Ray Kittler and Chester Kittler.
She is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Jerry; two sons, Randy and his wife Nancy, Brent and his wife Tandy, one daughter, Sandy (Sandra), all of Little Rock; a brother, James Kittler of Carlisle, Arkansas, a sister, Margaret Faye Hula of Hazen, Arkansas, and one sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Kittler also of Carlisle; four grandchildren, Lauren, Andrew, Emily, and Ashley Miller, and “Hugo,” along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A gathering in remembrance was held 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 19, 2004, in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth, with Reverend John Fimple and Reverend Tom Logue officiating. Burial followed at Carlisle cemetery.
Visitation was from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2004, at the funeral home.

Elmo Martin Johnson
Elmo Martin Johnson, age 87, of North Little Rock, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004. He was a retired salesman for Cash Wholesale Co. He was a Baptist and a Veteran of World War II.
He is survived by one son, Sonny Johnson, of North Little Rock.
Funeral was Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at Butlerville cemetery, Ward, by Westbrook Funeral Home.
Marie Barnett
Marie Barnett, age 73, of Romance, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Cabot.
Marie was Food Service Director for the Cabot School System for the last 28 years and in food service for a total of 38 years.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Wyatt Barnett of Romance; one son, Jimmy of Cabot; two daughters, Shirley Farley of Star City, Phyllis Copeland of Romance; three brothers, Kenneth (Bud) McKay of Romance, Harvey (Top) McKay of Beebe, and Robbie Dale McKay of Hot Springs; and one sister, Pat Putman of Beebe; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Sunday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Graveside service was Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at the Romance cemetery.
Chester Smart
Chester Smart, 82, of Austin passed away January 16, 2004. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Smart and is survived by daughters, Sharon Westmoreland, Linda Weeks, both of Austin, Fran Hackler of Cabot; son, Bobby Smart of WA; brothers, Bobby Joe Smart and Tommy Dean of OK; sisters, Bertha Dean of Cabot and Margie Dean of OK; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Monday, Jan. 19 from 6-8 p.m. at Cabot Funeral Home. J. ‘Jim’ O. E. Morehart
James “Jim” O. E. Morehart, 27, formerly of Cabot, passed away January 10, 2004 in Kenai, Alaska. He is survived by his mother, Sharon Ann Speer of AK; father, Robert E. Morehart Sr. and Patricia Morehart of Ward; brother, Robert E. Morehart II; sister, Sherry Morehart.

Murl Mizell O’Bannon
Murl Mizell (M. M.) O’Bannon, age 83, of Lonoke, died Jan. 19, 2004. He was a retired farmer and teacher, a member of the Lonoke First Baptist Church, and a Veteran of World War II. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 1949 with a degree in agriculture. He taught in a Veterans program and also taught school in Hazen, Carlisle and Cabot. He dairy farmed for 30 years in Lonoke County. He served on two dairy boards, FHA Board, and Federal Land Bank.
He is survived by his wife, Sue O’Bannon, two daughters, Carolyn O’Bannon of Jacksonville, Susan Eoff of Lonoke; son, Kevin O’Bannon of Lonoke; two sisters Edris O’Bannon of Jackson, Miss., and Helen Tollison of Starkville, Miss.; two brothers, Morris O’Bannon of Ackerman, Miss., and Elondrie O’Bannon of Maben, Miss.; five grandchildren.
Visitation was Tuesday at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke. Funeral was Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at Lonoke First Baptist Church, with burial in Lonoke cemetery, by Westbrook Funeral Home.
Orie Jean Shirley, age 66, formerly of Lonoke died Jan. 14, 2004.
She is survived by children, James, John, William, Mark, Paul, Vickie Rhein, all of Lonoke, Terry of McRae, Larry; four brothers and five sisters, all of Michigan, one sister of Kentucky and one from Tennessee, 33 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services were Monday at Lonoke Apostolic Church with interment in Concord cemetery by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
