Carl A. Aldridge
Carl A. Aldridge, 83, of Winchester died Feb. 15, 2002.
He was a member of the Tillar First Baptist Church and served as a deacon and Sunday School director for many years. He was an area farmer, served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was awarded numerous awards, including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors are brothers, Harl J. Aldridge of Winchester and Charlie W. Aldridge of Portland; a sister, Nellie Mae Granger of Pine Bluff.
Funeral was Feb. 18 at the Tillar First Baptist Church, with graveside service at Hicks cemetery, Lonoke. Griffin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Tillar First Baptist Church or Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home.

Grace Wood
Grace Hendrickson Wood, age 99, of North Little Rock, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002.
She moved to Cabot in 1914. She went to work for the Veterans Hospital in 1922 and retired from there in 1948. She was a member of Crosspoint Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Park.

W.D. Walker
W.D. Walker of Sheridan, 66, died Feb. 23, 2002.
He was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, was retired from the Pine Bluff Arsenal and was formerly with the Arkansas National Guard.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Whitaker Walker of Sheridan; daughter and son, Janet and Ralph Williams of Sheridan; daughter, Tanya Michael of Sheridan; a granddaughter; father and stepmother, Wilburn and Clara Walker of Sheridan; brother, Romie Walker of Cabot.
Funeral services were Feb. 26, at the Buie Funeral Home Chapel at Sheridan. Burial was in the Lost Creek cemetery at Sheridan.

John David Sturdy
John David Sturdy, age 45, of Ward, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; three children, Christi and Christopher Sturdy and Jason Humphries; parents, John and Dorothy Sturdy; two brothers, Rick and Phillip Sturdy; one sister, Mary Lou Fromm; and one granddaughter.
Funeral was Feb. 27 at Indian Hills Baptist Church. Roller-Owens Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bernice Starks
Bernice Starks, 49, of Jacksonville, died Feb. 19.
Survivors are a son, Arthur Starks III; daughter, Whitney Starks, Jacksonville; sister, Early Felder; brothers, Solomon Kimble Jr., Forrest City, Emeil Kimble, New Orleans, John W. Kimble, Lonoke, Larry L. Kimble, Little Rock.
Services entrusted to Robinson Mortuary,

Penny Bowie
Penny Patrice Wallace Bowie, 49, of Cabot, and former resident of Little Rock, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002.
She was employed by Affiliated Foods for two years before becoming an executive secretary, for over 25 years, for ARKLA, which then became Reliant Energy. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock.
She is survived by her husband, Lindy of Cabot; her mother, Patsy Wallace of Pine Bluff; two brothers, Don Wallace of Pine Bluff and Larry Wallace of Tulsa, Okla.
A memorial service was Saturday, Feb. 23, at Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock.
Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Cancer Research Center

Olivia Lee Langston
Infant Olivia Lee Langston of Ward, born Jan. 9, 2002, to Dan and Susan Langston, died Feb. 20, 2002.
She is also survived by two sisters, Danielle and Victoria Langston both of Ward; maternal grandparents, John and Donna Bell of Pine Bluff; paternal grandparents, Danny Langston of Beebe and Judy Hamaker.
Graveside service was held Saturday, Feb. 23, at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Clayton Daniel Harkey
Clayton Daniel Harkey of Cabot, God’s angel, was called home Sept. 24, 2002, at the age of 11 months.
Clayton was born Oct. 16, 2001, in Jacksonville to James and Shelly Grinstead Harkey.
Clayton touched so many lives in his short 11 months.
He is survived by his loving mother and father; brother James and sister Shayla; mawmaw and pawpaw, Sheila and Leonard Grinstead; and uncle Kevin, all of Cabot; grandfather, Jim Harkey; grandmother, Ina Grennard; and grandmother, Alice Harkey, all of North Little Rock; along with lots of loving aunts, uncles and great-grandparents.
Graveside service was Sept. 27 at Mt. Carmel cemetery in Cabot with David Brown officiating. Clayton was laid to rest beside his uncle, James. Arrangements were by Cabot Funeral Home.

Jennie A. Boggan Godair
Jennie A. Boggan Godair (MaMaw) went to be with the Lord Sept. 24, 2002.
She was born in Griffithville, Ark., Sept. 7, 1908. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Louie L. Godair; her parents, Andrew and Callie Boggan; three brothers, Clair Boggan, Ted Boggan and Paul Boggan; one sister, Cordie Moore; two daughters, Lois Lane and Joyce Colclasure; and one son, A.B. Godair.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon G. and Marion Godair of Boyce, La., Homer C. and Jean Godair of Snyder, Texas, and Truman A. and Alpha Godair of Carlisle; a daughter, Carol Clements of Houston, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle Owens of Mira Loma, Calif., and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was a member of the Full Gospel Mission Church and was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be loved and missed by all.
Services were at 2 p.m., Friday, at the Full Gospel Mission Church, with interment in Welcome Home cemetery, Des Arc, with arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.
Memorials may be made to Welcome Home cemetery or Full Gospel Mission Church.
