Tommy Cook

Tommy Cook, 62, of Timberon, New Mexico, died recently in New Mexico.
He was preceded in death b y his parents, Bub and Anna Lee Cook, and one brother, Clifford Cook.

He is survived by one son, Thomas Eric (Bud) Cook of Sherrill; one daughter, Paula Rene Hankins of Coy; the mother of his children, Paulette Joseph of Sherrill; two sisters, Donnie Kay Tenison of Hickory Plains, and Ella May Perryman of Lonoke; three grandchildren; three nephews; and two nieces.

A 1959 graduate of Carlisle High School and a Baptist, he served 11 years in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Services were held in New Mexico. The body was cremated.

Opal M. McKenzie

Opal M. McKenzie, 82, of Cabot died September 9, 2003 in Searcy. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Mac” McKenzie, parents, and two daughters and one son. She is survived by 2 sons, Norman McKenzie of VA and Douglas McKenzie of AZ; one daughter Lana Rose Williams of TX; two sisters, Veona Stanfield of OK and Doris Hopkins of CA; one brother, Lloyd Feind of NM; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 at Old Austin Methodist Church with Brother Richard Hughes officiating. Cremation arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.

Elsie M. Sizemore

Elsie Murray Sizemore, 91, of Cabot died September 9, 2003. She is survived by her daughter Judy M. Ellis of FL and her granddaughter Lisa Smith of Cabot. Cremation arrangements made by Cabot Funeral Home.

Matthew J. Fielder

Matthew John Fielder, 32, of Ward died September 14, 2003 in Hot Springs. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Florence and Kenneth Brissenden and John L. Fielder. He is survived by his parents, John and Gloria Fielder of Cabot; his wife, Wendy Fielder of Ward; son, Chase Fielder of Cabot; grandmother, Elsie Fielder of Lonoke; sister, Cindy Fielder-Hammonds of Little Rock; niece, Alyssa Hammonds of Little Rock.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 17, 2003 from 5-8 p.m. at the Cabot Funeral Home. Services will be Thursday Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, Pastor Kevin Conger officiating, with interment in Lonoke cemetery. Edna Chloe Horton

Edna Chloe Horton, age 84, passed away September 12, 2003. She is survived by her children, Joyce White and Jimmy Horton of Lonoke, Jeanette Stroud of Conway, Janie Davis of Austin, Connie Turney of Jacksonville and JoAnn Sheffield of South Dakota; grandsons, Buddy Horton, Ray Horton, Terry Horton, Rodger Horton, Jay White, Kenny St John, Chris McLean, Bo Davis, Craig Stroud and Wade Tunney; granddaughters, Kem St John, Julie White, Christy Turney, Brandy Sheffield, Ciara Sheffield and Tia Sheffield and 19 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Olen Horton and daughter, Betty Harris preceded her in death. Funeral Services were 10:00 a.m. Monday at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke with interment in Sunset Memorial Garden. Memorials may be made to Roberson Baptist Church, Lonoke.

Carl Louis Raper

Carl Louis Raper, age 67, died Saturday, September 13, 2003. He was preceded in death by his father, Murl Raper and brother, Billy Carol Raper. He is survived by his mother, Clara Mae Raper of Lonoke; daughters, Carla Fivekiller and Vicki Swimmer of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; a son Darren Shockey of Van Buren; eight grandchildren and brother, Larry Raper of Lonoke.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 18 at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke. Burial will follow in Arkansas Memorial Garden, Old Jacksonville Highway. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 17 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bayou Meto Missionary Baptist Church.

F. M. Buddy Lloyd

Francis M. “Buddy” Lloyd, 85, retired farmer and Navy Seabee, died Sept. 12, 2003.

Survivors: wife Mary Ellen, daughters Lana Dodson and husband Garnett, Judy Landers and husband Win; grandchildren Tracy Maple, Bret Dickey and Kari Hancock; and seven great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death: sisters Norma Warren and Evelyn Lloyd.

Jewell R. Moore

Jewell R. Moore, age 85, went to be with the Lord, on Sunday, September 14, 2003. She was born June 3, 1918. She was a lifelong member of Concord United Methodist Church. preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy, daughter, Joyce McFarlane, son, Billy Moore, grandson, Billy C. Wilson, brother, Herbert Sullivan, and sister Ruby Moore.

She is survived by her son Jack L. Moore (Jan) of Lonoke, Brothers: Dan Sullivan(Gwen) of Springfield, MO, Dale Sullivan (Almena), Hosea “Junior” Sullivan, and sister Helen Stuckey (Ralph) all of Lonoke, 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, along with
A host of nieces, nephews and others whose lives she touched.
Visitation was Tuesday at the funeral home.

Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday September 17, 2003 at Concord United Methodist Church, with interment at Concord cemetery, by Boyd Funeral Home, of Lonoke.

Memorials can be made to Concord UMC or Concord cemetery.

Wilma June Koch

Wilma June Koch, age 74, of Lonoke, passed away Sept. 10, 2003.
She was a member of the Lonoke Baptist Church and a volunteer with Lonoke County Cares.

Survivors include four daughters, Cheryl Klann of Michigan, Melody Koehler of Little Rock, Linda Peckat and Penny Frederickson of Lonoke; a brother, Don Fuller of Michigan; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at noon, Friday, at Lonoke Baptist Church with a committal service at 2 p.m. in National cemetery, Little Rock.

Memorials may be made to Lonoke Baptist Church.

Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.

Mary Olive Ford

Mary Olive Ford of Little Rock, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003.

She was born in Lonoke, and retired from AP&L after 45 years service as the credit manager. She was a member of Lonoke Baptist Church.

Graveside services were held Monday, Sept. 15, at Lonoke cemetery with arrangements by Roller Chenal Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Lonoke Baptist Church, 406 W. Front, Lonoke, Ark. 72086.

Robert Read Smith

Robert Read Smith, age 79, died Sept. 15, 2003.
He was a retired farmer and member of American Legion.

Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Smith and Richard Smith, both of DeWitt; three sisters, Carlotta Barnhill of Lonoke, Eleanor Bullock of Crocketts Bluff and Jan Smith of Tyler, Texas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services were Wednesday, at Essex Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Crocketts Bluff cemetery.

Michael H. McCarty

Michael Houston McCarty, 58, of Mabelvale died Sept. 10, 2003.
He is survived by a son, Chris McCarty of Cabot; daughter, Jennie Johnson; two brothers, John McCarty of Mt. Vernon and Larry McCarty of Cabot; and two grandchildren.

Memorial Service was Sept. 12 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.
