Kathleen Barrentine
Kathleen Barrentine, 72, born Sept. 6, 1930 in Austin, Arkansas, died at her daughter's home in Oracle, Arizona on June 6, 2003 after being diagnosed with renal cancer in March 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Eugene Barrentine and her beautiful son, Robert Harold Barrentine.
Kathleen retired from the Cabot Public Schools Cafeteria on May 15, 1995 after 13 years of dedicated service with her many friends and co-workers. She was a member of Cabot First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Ron Barrentine of Beebe, Everett Eugene Barrentine Jr. of Cabot, Mark Barrentine of Eddieville, KY; daughter, Suzanne Smith of Oracle, AZ; seven grandchildren, Travis Barrentine of Conway, Cheryl Rowe of El Dorado, Tony Smith of Hayden, AZ, Bobby Smith of Hayden, AZ, Eddie Smith, Jr. of Oracle, AZ, Brianna Barrentine of Cabot, Brandon Barrentine of Cabot; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Otis Coffey of Conway and Joy Dejonovich of Austin; two brothers, Otha Evans of NLR and Jack Evans of Cabot; and many other wonderful relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, June 10 at Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral Services was at Cabot Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, June 11 at 2 p.m., with interment at Mt. Carmel cemetery in Cabot. Brother Harold O'Bryan officiated. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home, 501-843-5816.
Aline Archer Taylor
Aline Archer Taylor, age 90, of Beebe, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003.
Survivors include five sons, Dane of Oklahoma, Charles and James of Beebe, Glen of Mabelvale and Gary of Arkadelphia; three daughters, Mary Oakley of Jacksonville, Jean Kirkland of Ward and Linda White of Beebe; one brother, Burl Archer of North Little Rock; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grand-children.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at Westbrook Chapel, Beebe, with burial in Antioch cemetery.
Vivian L. Sarrett
Vivian L. Johnson Sarrett, 105, died Sunday, June 8, 2003 at Spring Creek Living Center in Cabot, Arkansas. She was born in Nevada County, AR on March 19, 1898.
She read into her late 90s, particularly her bible and biographies. She also loved gardening. She was a member of Bible Missionary Church. Her faith in God has always been strong. Special thanks to her many friends for their love and prayers. Thanks, also, to a wonderful staff at Spring Creek Living Center who have given her so much love and care.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eliza and Henry Irving; brother, Eldry Johnson; sisters, May Johnson, Ruth Barlow and Ollig Otwell; sons, William J. Sarrett and Ernie L. Sarrett; daughters, Ginger (Virgie) Tockman and Jackie Marie Honnoll. She is survived by her son Bernie Sarrett and his wife Virginia of La Salle, IL; son, Jim Sarrett of Dallas, TX; daughter, Jeanne Sarrett of Little Rock, AR; sister, Maxine Cromwell of Prescott, AR; son-in-law, Richard Tockman of Cabot, AR; daughter-in-law, Kim Sarrett of San Jose, CA; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Visitation was held at the Cabot Funeral Home on Monday, June 8 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Services were Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with interment at Mt. Carmel cemetery.

Johnny Acree, of Oak Grove, La., died June 9, 2003.
Survivors include a brother, E. W. “Sonny” Acree and sisters, Dorothy Shipe of Austin, Frances Smith of Eudora and Katherine Moss of Oak Grove, La.

Nancy Cook Winters, 42, died Monday, June 2, 2003 in Little Rock. Gladys K. Gordon
Gladys Kathryn Gordon, age 80, passed away June 8, 2003. She was born and raised in the Hamilton Community, was a homemaker and a charter member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Fred Gordon; one son, Gary Gordon of Carlisle and a daughter, Mary Alice Shannon of Conway; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, Joel & Mary Barber, four brothers, two sisters and one grandson. Funeral Services were 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with interment in Union Valley cemetery, Coy; arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke. Maxine M. Fortson
Maxine McManus Fortson, 70, of Lonoke, died June 9, 2003.
Survivors include her children, Rory McManus, Gayle Kidd and Dee Dee McManus Engle; five stepchildren; four granddaughters and four great-granddaughters.
Visitation will be Wednesday noon until 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p. m. in Huson Funeral Home, 7700 Hwy. 107, Sherwood. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel. Mark D. Ledbetter Sr.
Mark Douglas Ledbetter Sr., 43, of Cabot, died June 8, 2003. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Sherwood. He was the owner/operator of One-Eyed Jack’s Tattoo Studio in Cabot and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Buchanan Ledbetter; daughters, Jessica Lynne Belmarez and Elizabeth Joy Ledbetter; son, Mark Douglas Ledbetter, Jr., all of Cabot; and daughter Kimberly Hendrickson of Little Rock; four grandchildren; one brother, Wade Ledbetter of Little Rock.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 13, at Griffin-Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock. Interment will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

Carolyn Sue Peters of Cabot died June 8, 2003.
She was a member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Cabot, and worked in the Pulaski Country Courthouse in voter registration.
She is survived by her husband, Earl Peters of Cabot; one daughter, Linda McKenzie; and one sister Bobbie Neely.
Graveside services were June 11, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Memorial Park with graveside services provided by Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, North Little Rock.
Ruby Anderson
Ruby McCann Anderson, 82, died June 7, 2003.
She is survived by five sons: Fletcher, Doyle, Ralph, Larry, and Jerry Anderson, all of Lonoke; two daughters, Vera Carpenter of Lonoke and Paulette Chapman of Scott; two brothers, Forrest McCann of Lonoke and Billy McCann of Little Rock; one sister, Virginia Adams of Lonoke; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday at Boyd Chapel with interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.
Charles K. Curry
Charles Kenneth Curry, 76, of Lonoke died on June 6, 2003.
He was a Mason, a veteran and a member of Lonoke First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Ken (Cindy) Curry of Cookeville, Tenn., and Dale Curry of Lonoke; a daughter, Anita (Joey) Wilson of Lonoke; three brothers, G.H. Curry Jr. of Carlisle, James Curry of Lonoke and William Curry of San Benito, Texas; two sisters, Betty Parker of Carlisle and Ruby Johnson of Royse City, Texas; seven grandchildren, Matt, Ben and Dan Curry of Cookeville, Tenn., Adam and Jonathan Curry, Kristen and Belinda Wilson, all of Lonoke.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Margaret Hillman Curry; parents, G.H. Curry and Atha Curry Elmore; brother, Bobby Curry; and sister, Annese Barber.
Funeral services were Monday, June 9, at Lonoke First United Methodist Church with interment in Lonoke cemetery by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.
Serving as pallbearers were Adam Curry, Jonathan Curry, Matt Curry, Ben Curry, Dan Curry and Bobby Parker.
Memorials may be made to the Lonoke First United Methodist Church.
Margaret Wade King
Margaret Wade King, 75, of Marvell died Friday in DeWitt.
She was a retired cafeteria worker, Marvell Schools; member, Trenton Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Fred King of Marvell; daughter, Linda Brown of Clarksdale, Miss.; two sons, Donnie and Danny Adams, both of Lonoke; brother, Tommy Wade of St. Charles; sister, Minnie Bullington of Tumbling Shoals; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Trenton Baptist Church. Burial was in Cypert cemetery, Marvell, directed by Roller-Citizens.
Burnadette Koon
Burnadette Koon, 77, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003.
She was a member of the Chapel Hill Baptist Church and belonged to the Ward Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by two daughters, Lynda Stoneking and Anne Wudkewych, both of Jacksonville; and four grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at the Lonoke cemetery.
