Nancy Irene Schmitt
Nancy Irene Riley Schmitt, 88, of Plainview died June 14, 2003.
She was a member of the Plainview First Baptist Church, Eastern Star, and Plainview VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors are her daughters, Wilma Stone of Texarkana, Texas and Pat Howard of Plainview; sons, Albert Riley of Cabot, Rudy Riley of Russellville and Ray Riley of Haughton, La.; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral was June 17 at First Baptist Church, Plainview, with burial in New Bethel cemetery, Plainview, by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville.
Joe H. Martin, Sr.
Joe H. Martin, Sr., age 64 of Austin, died Monday, June 16, 2003. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Haynes Martin; one son, Joe H. “Jay” Martin, Jr. of Petersburg, Va.; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann “Liz” Johnson of Cabot; his grandson, and his granddaughter, four brothers, James E. Martin, Kingsport, TN, Roy H. Martin, Mt. Carmel, TN, Willard D. Martin, Lakeland, FL, and John R. Martin, Church Hill, TN; four sisters, Margaret Etta Livesay, Church Hill, TN, Bertie Lee Shoemaker, Mt. Carmel, TN, Dessa L. Woods, Church Hill, TN and Linda Bright, Surgoinsville, TN; his mother-in-law, Dora E. Haynes.
Visitation will be Wednesday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2003 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, with burial in Oak Grove cemetery, by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.

Delana Boyer
Delana Franklin Boyer, 83, of Austin passed away on May 7, 2003 at Beebe Retirement Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Essie Boyer; one brother and one sister. He is survived by two daughters, Dannie May Baker of Murchison, TX, and Glenda Collier of Salem, Oregon; two sisters, Juanita Crawford and Jessie May of Lexington, KY; two nieces, Debra Sims and Donna Snow; three nephews, Ronnie, Wayne and Kenny Boyer; six grandchildren, Tony, Terry and Wanda of Oregon and Tracye, Tony and Donna of Dallas; five great-grandchildren.

James Roy Malone
James Roy Malone, age 89, of Little Rock, died Thursday, May 8, 2003. He was a retired salesman for Rand Inc. Roy was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church and a Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Ila Mae Malone of Little Rock; one son, David Malone of Little Rock; three sisters, Wilma Malone and Mae Cooper, both of Austin and Lucille Sowell of Ward; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
Graveside service was Thursday, May 15, at Old Austin cemetery. A memorial service was at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, Little Rock by Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.

Marvin Milam
Marvin Milam, age 84, of Ward, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003. He was a retired dairy farmer and also retired from Cameron Feed Mill. Marvin was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Methodist.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Gertrude; two granddaughters; two sisters, Minnie Armstrong of Beebe and Doris Springer of California; five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Saturday, May 10, 2003, at Westbrook Chapel with burial in Old Austin cemetery, Ward.

Louie N. Halford
Louie Nathaniel Halford, age 88, died May 11, 2003.
He was a member of Lonoke First United Methodist Church, a Mason and retired from Arkansas Power and Light.
Survivors include his wife, Mary June Halford; one daughter, Louise Bashaw of Colorado; sisters, Ida Mae Pifer of Little Rock, Gertrude Pawlinski of Ohio, and Lois Langley of Pine Bluff; brothers, Donel Halford of Texas, Grover Halford of Hazen and Hubert Halford of Dumas; and two grandchildren.
Funeral was May 14 at Lonoke First United Methodist Church. A Committal Service followed in Lone Tree cemetery, Stuttgart with Military Honors by Leonard Stark VFW Post 3543, Honor Guard, Heber Springs. Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
Charles F. Bryant
Charles Franklin “Frank” Bryant, 67, of North Little Rock, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003.
He was a member of Central Baptist Church and was active in Baptist churches in North Little Rock all of his adult life. He served his country in the Army National Guard from 1955 to 1959. He was in business with his brother Vance for 42 years, at Bryant Brothers Service Center.
Frank is survived by his wife, Wanda Lee (Milam) Bryant; daughter, Lana Martin of North Little Rock; son, Charles Terry Bryant of North Little Rock; brother, Vance Bryant of Austin; seven sisters, Madie Fields, Marion Glover, Sybil Glover, Patsy Bates, Barbara Bryant, Martha Bowen, all of North Little Rock, Ramona Thompson of Lonoke; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services, under the direction of Roller-Owens Funeral Home were May 10, at Central Baptist Church. Interment was in Oak Grove cemetery in Austin.

Barry Hunter
Barry Hunter, age 19, of North Little Rock died Thursday, May 1.
Survivors are his mother, Shirley McPherson; stepfather, Robert McPherson; father, Perry Hunter Sr.; stepmother, Rose Hunter, all of North Little Rock; three brothers, Perry Hunter Jr., Christopher Hunter, Peter Henderson; and stepbrother, Robert McPherson of Grand Prairie, Texas; six sisters, Keisha, Yolanda, Rebecca, Porchia, Perri and Pilar Hunter, all of Little Rock; grandparents, Equllia Hunter of Lonoke, and Gloria Harvey Norman of Little Rock.
Funeral was Saturday, at Independence Baptist Church. S.A. Jones Drive and Locust Street, North Little Rock. Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lonoke.
Dallas Henry Tipton
Dallas Henry Tipton, 94, formerly of Biscoe, died on May 8, 2003.
His survivors include his wife of 75 years, Minnie Dill Tipton; two sons, Bobby D. Tipton of Conway, Billy K. Tipton of Clinton; one daughter, Mickey Wagner of Maumelle; two sisters, Ovada Clark of DeValls Bluff, Juanita Henry of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren ; two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday at Biscoe Assembly of God Church with interment Biscoe cemetery by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.
Burnice Hoover
Burnice Hoover, age 77, of Little Rock died Thursday, May 8, 2003.
He was a retired construction superintendent.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Walker Hoover; his children, Linda Carlson of Scottsdale, Ariz., Bob Hoover of New Orleans, La., Guy Hoover of Cabot and Kim Yamber of Lonoke; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was May 10, at Riverwood Memorial Gardens with arrangements by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home.
Jerrel G. James
Jerrel G. James, 77, of Cabot died Saturday, May 10, 2003.
He retired from Southwestern Bell with over 39 years of service. He was a WWII veteran and was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary E. James; daughter, Jerre Ellen Mengel of Belton, Texas; two sisters, Ruby Asquith of North Little Rock and Floretta Mogridge of Memphis; and one grandson.
Funeral services, under the direction of Roller-Owens Funeral Home, were May 13, at the Cabot United Methodist Church, with interment at Mt. Carmel cemetery in Cabot.
