Genevieve Jethro
Genevieve Jethro, age 76, died Saturday.
She was a retired nurse’s assistant, a Baptist, and member of the VFW Woman’s Auxiliary.
Survivors are: son, John of Heber Springs; daughters, Kathryn Spinks Galloway of Beebe and Carol Ann Thompson Holland of Ward; brother, James Smith of Jacksonville; eight grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Services were Tuesday, Olmstead Chapel, Heber Springs, and interment, Cleburne County Memorial Gardens.
Ealnor Jackson
Ealnor Jackson, 70, of Austin, died Sunday, April 27.
She is survived by four sons, Ricky, John, Rex and Robert Latourrette; two daughters, Marsha Parish and Tosha Hannah; one brother, Jimmy Wooldrige; three sisters, Corrina Backus, Lucille Williams and Willie Gene Branch; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be graveside at Beebe City cemetery Saturday. Arrangements by Cabot Funeral Home.
Joseph Lee Ashby
Joseph Lee “Joe” Ashby, age 19, died Thursday, April 24, 2003.
He was an employee of Burger King in Cabot and attended the Church of Christ.
Survivors are his father and stepmother, Richard Dale and Maggie Ashby of Russell; his mother and stepfather, Peggy and David Smith of Beebe; a brother, Richard Dale Ashby of Maumelle; his paternal grandfather, Arthur “Ott” Ashby of Augusta; his maternal grandmother, Mildred Osier Ripley of Augusta; his paternal great-grandmother, Helen Branum of Cardwell, Mo.; three stepbrothers and three stepsisters.
Funeral services were May 1, at the Grace Baptist Church in Augusta, with burial following in Augusta Memorial Park by Powell Funeral Home of Bald Knob-Judsonia.
Sadie Barnes
Sadie Barnes, 91, Clarksville died Sunday.
Survivors, daughter, Faye Vickery, Bryant; sons, Jeffrey Barnes, Cabot, Otis Barnes, Arlington, Tenn., Stan Barnes, New Park Richey, Fla.; sister, Norma Best, Empire, Ala.; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Wednesday, Hardwicke Funeral Chapel. Burial, Woodland cemetery.
Phyllis Jean Helms
Phyllis Jean Karr Helms, age 52, of Stuttgart died Tuesday.
She was employed by Layne Arkansas for over 25 years.
Survivors are her husband, Michael J. Helms; one son, Jerry Helms of Benton ; three daughters, Jennie Mc-Daniel and Michele Cash both of Cabot, Nikki Helms of Stuttgart; her mother, Loretta Dooley; four brothers; five sisters; and four grandchildren.
Services were Thursday at Turpin Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Lone Tree cemetery by Turpins.
Mary Viola Harrell
Mary Viola Adams Harrell, 94, of Cabot died Tuesday.
Services were Friday in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Conway with burial in Cypress Valley cemetery.
Anna Lea Hankins
Anna Lea Jennings Hankins, age 61, of Carlisle died Tuesday.
She was retired from Remington, and was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors are two sons, Tracy Robison of Jacksonville, Andy Hankins of Carlisle; two daughters, Shelia Ball of Humnoke and Martha Ford of Lonetree, Iowa; her parents, Robert and Jimmie Sue Covington of Hickory Plains; her father Basil Jennings Sr. of Lonoke; two brothers, J.C. Jennings of North Little Rock and Basil “Butch” Jennings Jr. of Carlisle; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday at Turpin Funeral Home Chapel in Stuttgart with burial in Carlisle cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Carlisle Public Library.
James F. Marshall
James Frances Marshall, age 77, of Ward, died April 30, 2003.
She taught at Warren Dupree Elementary School in Jacksonville for 26 years. She was a member of First Baptist of Ward.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James Calvin Marshall of Ward; and five children, Elizabeth Barrett of Cabot, Martha Thomas of Jonesboro, J.C. Marshall of Lowell, Anita Cochran and Allen Marshall of Ward; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Wondle Chamblee, Dewey Chamblee, Joe Chamblee; and sisters, Molene Cook, Emma Madding and Laura Eubanks.
Funeral services were May 2, at the First Baptist Church of Ward. Burial was in Apple Hill cemetery.
Fern Marie Posey
Fern Marie Posey of Dallas, Texas, died April 26, 2003.
She was a licensed beautician in Carlisle, a member of the Eastern Star, 25-year supervisor of data entry at Lone Star Gas Co. in Dallas and a longtime member of Wilshire Baptist Church.
Survived by daughters, Virginia Ridenhour, and Patricia Prindle Walter; six grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Elsie Johnson of Mena.
Graveside services were May 3, at Edgewood Memorial Park in North Little Rock.
Carl Thomas Bevill
Carl Thomas Bevill, 71, of Scott died Tuesday, April 29, 2003.
He was a member of Lynch View Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathleen York Bevill of Scott; daughter, Debbie Sims of Dyersburg, Tenn.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bennie Bevill of North Little Rock and Bobby Bevill of Dierks, and a sister, Mary Smith of Carlisle.

Ida Mae Roberts, age 75, of Cabot, died Friday, May 2, 2003.
She was a housewife and a member of Living Waters Church in Cabot.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth D. Roberts of Cabot; two daughters, Dana Herring of Tulsa, Okla., and Gigi Gilkerson of Cabot; one brother, Ronald Mulkey of Cabot; one sister, Ila Fay Sullivan of North Little Rock; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Funeral was Monday, at Living Waters Church, Cabot, with burial in Hicks cemetery.
