Bobby Kittler
Bobby Kittler, age 63, of Carlisle passed away Oct. 2, 2002, after a very long and courageous battle with cancer.
Through the years Bobby loved to hunt, fish and take care of his many animals.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Donald Kilgore; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Charlotte Kittler and Jerry and Patsy Kittler, all of Carlisle; nieces and nephews, Shannon Harvey, Ken Kittler, Stacie Dearen, Denton Ki Dearen, John David Kilgore, Jill Kilgore, Jerry Kilgore and Caitlyn Kilgore.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 5, at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel, Lonoke, with Bro. Freddie McCann officiating. Burial followed in Carlisle cemetery.
Ellen Brady
Ellen Josephine Brady, 89, passed away Oct. 3, 2002.
She is survived by two daughters, Sue Nodd of Blytheville, and Patsy Johnston (Lonnie) of Sherwood; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie Brady; a daughter, Emogene Newton; a granddaughter, Mary Russom; and a son-in-law, Louis Nodd.
Funeral was held Saturday at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel in Lonoke, with interment in Lonoke cemetery.
John A. Fulkerson Jr.
John Albert Fulkerson Jr. of Minneapolis, Minn., was born Sept. 7, 1973 in Little Rock, Ark. He departed this life Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002 in Minneapolis.
He was the son of John Albert Fulkerson Sr. of Winchester, Ark., and Thomas and Charlotte Murphy of Lonoke.
Survivors include three sisters, Jennifer Whitehead of Jacksonville, Lisa Looper of Cabot and Kim Cook of North Little Rock.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Oct. 12, at Faith Community Church in Furlow. Arrangements are by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Leona Odle Moore
Leona Odle Moore, 78, of Alma, formerly of Lonoke, died Sept. 29, 2002.
She was a retired line worker for Dixie Cup, and a member of Kibler UMC.
Funeral was Oct. 2 at Concord United Methodist Church, with burial in Concord cemetery by Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
She is survived by her daughters, Carlene Moore McCormick of Alma and Sherry Moore of Conway; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Constance Gross
Constance “Connie” Mary Garth-Gross, age 58, of Cabot, passed away October 7, 2002. She was born July 22, 1944 in Waltham, Massachusetts to the late George C. & Margaret M. Codyer-Garth.
Also preceded in death by her husband Gene L. Gross, September 28, 1994.
Connie was employed by Arkansas Association of Rehabilitation Support (ARS) agency of RIDAC - Rehabilitation Initial Diagnosis & Assessment of Clients. An active member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Tri-County Art & Craft Guild, The CAN DO Cancer Support Group, St. Jude’s Alter & Rosary, Arkansas Assoc. Of Rehabilitation Support Staff (ARS), and the Russian Missions at St. Jude’s.
Survivors include one brother, Peter C. Garth of Great Falls, Montana; two sisters, Virginia Garth-Northrop of Tampa, Florida & Frances Garth-Lovell of Black Diamond, Washington; one step-son, James Gross of Cincinnati, Ohio. Several nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2002 at Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2002 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church Jacksonville, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to one of the following charities: The Arlene Cherry Memorial Library in Cabot, St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Can Do Cancer Support Group at 1st Baptist Church in Cabot, and the American Cancer Society. Louise R. Perkins
Louise Riddle Perkins, age 80, of Carlisle passed away Oct. 7, 2002, at her home. She was born Sept. 28, 1922, in Searcy, Ark., to the late Ruel and Susie Riddle. Louise was a lady of poise and grace, outgoing and fun-loving. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her.
Louise is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Perkins; and five children, Bobby Perkins and wife Chris, David Perkins and wife, Becky, Phillip Perkins, Marty Perkins and wife Tammy, all of Carlisle; and daughter, Gayla Perkins Lopez and husband Carlos of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Charles Riddle and wife Ramona of Carlisle and Franklin Riddle and wife Margie of Fort Smith; nine grandchildren, Aaron Perkins, Brandi Perkins, Kim Perkins Moran, Shelley Perkins, Clark Perkins, Charla Perkins Terry, Stuart Perkins, Blane Perkins and Blake Perkins; five great-grandchildren, Chance Perkins, Chasidy Perkins, Tres Perkins, Ashby Terry and Ansley Terry.
Louise was the consummate homemaker, wife and mother. She was a champion of life’s treasures, including laughing with her friends, sharing recipes and cooking and caring for her husband and family. However, Louise’s biggest accomplishment and challenge was raising her five children, all caring, giving and funny people, just like their mother. They were all at Louise’s side until the very end.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church in Carlisle. Interment was in the Carlisle cemetery. Arrangements were by Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen.
Ona Reba New
Ona Reba New of North Little Rock, died Sept. 16, 2002, at the age of 88.
She was a retired seamstress for Ottheimers & Tuffnut Clothing and a member of Lynchview Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Tomlinson of Lonoke; brothers, Bill Odom of Lonoke and Randall Odom of Cabot; sisters, Syble Larkan of DeValls Bluff and Shelby Hardin of England; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service was held Thursday, Sept. 19, at Griffin-Leggett-Rest Hills Chapel. Interment followed at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
Memorials be made to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, 800 Marshall St., Little Rock, Ark.
Ethel Mince
Ethel Mince, age 80, of North Little Rock, formerly of Hazen, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002.
She was a resident of Robinson Health Care and retired from VanHeusen.
She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Scott of Little Rock and Marilynn Borecky of White Hall; four sisters, Mabel Noble of Little Rock, Nadine Brotherton of Cabot, Harriet Harris of Biscoe, and Dorothy Bridgeman of Oakland, Calif.; one brother, Raymond Prine, Hazen; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Sept. 20, at the Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Hazen. Interment was in the Hazen cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice or the Hazen cemetery.
Nona Cagle Kinder
Nona Cagle Kinder, age 95, of Russellville (Caglesville Community) died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
A daughter of the late Mace and Mary Inez Gray Cagle, she was born Oct. 1, 1906 at Caglesville. She was the widow of Rev. J.D. (Dewey) Kinder. She was a member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church and most recently attended the Caglesville Community Church.
She was preceded in death by an infant son; a brother, Fay Cagle; a sister, Myrtle Cooper; a grandson, Carrol Don Hays; and a great-grandson, Brian Steven Richter.
Survivors include two daughters, Dortha Kinslow and Virginia L. Hays, both of Atkins; a brother, Roger Cagle of Russellville; a sister, Lona Hemmer of Russellville; seven grandchildren, Jo Ann Hill of Hector, Kay Richter of Russellville, Bobbye Austin of Milan, Tenn., Dwight (Butch) Hays of Atkins, Burl Lee Hays of Cabot, Charlotte Harper of Russellville and Pamela Pruitt of Hector; 20 great-grandchildren; 39 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 19, at Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church, with Rev. Sam Austin and Rev. Jimmy Lee Chronister officiating. Burial was in Shiloh cemetery, north of Atkins, by Shinn Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were grandchildren.
