Virgina Mildred "Jean" Clem
Virginia Mildred "Jean" Clem, 80, of Trumann died Sunday, April 11, 2004 at her residence.
Born in Coteau, N.D., she had lived in Trumann for 30 years, moving from Wyoming. She was a nurse and a member of the Parkview Baptist Church in Trumann.
Survivors include her husband, Dillard "Doc" W.D. Clem of the home; one son, Richard Clem of Ward; two daughters, Sharon Baker of Feeding Hill, Mass., and Paulette Harness of Memphis; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lucille Bormuth Quanne, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 13, at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, with the Rev. Bill Maxwell and the Rev. Paul Vinson officiating. Burial followed in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tommy Barker, Gary Barker, Joe Barker, Tony Clem, Chris Clem, Cory Harness and Neil Clem.

James Elbert "Bud" Presley
Funeral services for James Elbert "Bud" Presley Jr., 40, of Jonesboro, who died Monday, April 5, 2004 at his residence, were held Wednesday, April 7, in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
The Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan and the Rev. Bobby Brooks officiated, and burial followed in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Marty Brooks, Earl J. Owens, Shannon Owens, Matthew Tyler Bullock, Terry Dean Vaughn, Tim Haggerty, Lee Jackson and Joey Carter.
Born in Trumann, he had lived in Trumann most of his life, moving to Jonesboro four years ago. He was employed by Thomas & Betts and was a member of East Side Baptist Church in Trumann.
Survivors include his wife, Kim Presley of the home; two daughters, Marisa Presley and Maranda Lawrence, both of Jonesboro; his parents, Effie Lois Presley and James E. Presley, both of Trumann; six sisters, Ann Owens, Linda Gregory, Marsha Mars and Karen Gregory, all of Trumann, Shelia Haggerty of Toledo, Ohio, and Gearldine Barnes of Marked Tree; and three brothers, Bobby Gene Presley of Jonesboro, George Presley of Trumann and Jimmy Presley of Proctor.
He was preceded in death by six sisters and four brothers.

Dorothy Faye McCarty
Dorothy Faye McCarty, 72, of Trumann died Sunday, April 11, 2004 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.
Born in Marked Tree, she had lived in Trumann for 48 years. She was retired from Trumann Public Schools and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Trumann.
Survivors include two sons, Roger McCarty of Trumann and Michael McCarty of Burleson, Texas; one daughter, Linda Knaper of Hot Springs; one sister, Inez Lee of Chico, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. McCarty; one daughter, Janice Dupuis; her parents, Harry and Beulah Lillard Akins; three sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 13, at the First Baptist Church in Trumann, with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Burial followed in Tyronza Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Harold Pankey, Wade Knaper, Jim Dupuis, Jerry Green well, Michael Collier, Jerry McKinney and Dr. Kemp Childs.
Honorary pallbearers will include the Dorcas Sunday school class of First Baptist Church.

Aulta Kyle
Aulta Kyle, 93, of Trumann died Saturday, April 17, 2004 at Trumann.
Born in Wrightsville, he lived in Trumann for 64 years, moving there from Marked Tree. He was a retired block inspector for Singer in Trumann and a member of Trumann Revival Center Church and the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Lucile Kyle of the home; two sons, Jimmy Kyle of Bloomingdale, Ga., and Gerald Kyle of Vanzant, Mo.; three daughters, Irene Chandler of Trumann, Doris Shelly of Memphis and Janus Holt of Jonesboro; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Vester Kyle, and one daughter, Reba Jean Kyle.
Funeral services were Monday, April 19, at Trumann Revival Center with the Rev. Kenneth Doke and the Rev. Frank Hardwick officiating. Burial followed in Nettleton Cemetery at Jonesboro.
Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann was in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers were Ken Chandler, Mike Chandler, Shane Kyle and Brian Malone.
J.P. Madden served as honorary pallbearer.

Carolyn Taylor "Sissy" Watkins
Carolyn Taylor "Sissy" Watkins, 75, of Little Rock, died Sunday, April 18, 2004. Her family and friends comforted her, for the past few weeks, at Baptist Health. She was most fortunate to have spent the recent Easter weekend with her family at home.
Carolyn was born in Jonesboro to Norris and Laverne Taylor of Trumann. Sissy attended Trumann public schools. An active University of Arkansas alumnus, with a BA in Fine Arts, Carolyn was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.
Carolyn was retired from teaching kindergarten at First Christian Church and devoted most of her time to her family, friends, and travel. She was a member of the P.E.O. sisterhood, Scattered Seeds, Bas Bleu, and the Arkansas Arts Center. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
Carolyn was preceded, in 1998, by the death of her beloved husband, Dick Watkins. Carolyn is survived by her two sons and their families, Rick Watkins, and his wife Marcia; Robb Watkins and his wife Susie; and four adored grandchildren: Robin, Win, Ryan, and Kate Watkins, all of Little Rock. Sissy is also survived by her brother, Norris Taylor of Fort Smith, and her cousin, Natalie Taylor Stuckey of Little Rock.
Her family and many friends will cherish her memory.
A private burial was Tuesday, April 20, and a memorial service was Wednesday, April 21, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to any benevolent organization of your choice.

Mallory Elizabeth Williams
Mallory Elizabeth Williams, infant daughter of Robert Williams and Carla Russell of Trumann, died Friday, April 16, 2004 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.
Survivors in addition to the parents include maternal grandparents, Eugene and Sadie Russell of Trumann; paternal grandparents, Ronald Williams of Bono and Peggy Williams Bass of Jonesboro; and paternal great-grandmother, Barbara Williams of Bono.
Graveside services were Monday, April 19, in Mount Pisgah Cemetery at Jonesboro, with the Rev. Nathan Russell officiating.
Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann is in charge of arrangements.

Harold R. "Mickey" Cockrum
Harold R. "Mickey" Cockrum, 86, of Trumann died Friday, April 16, 2004 at St. Bernard's Medical Center.
Born in Trumann, he had lived in St. Louis before moving back to Trumann in 1987. He was retired from the McDonald Douglas Co., a 32nd degree Mason of the Masonic Lodge of Overland, Mo., a member of the Trumann Lions Club and of the First Baptist Church in Trumann.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Shelton Cockrum of the home; one daughter, Brenda Gail Nelson of St. Charles, Mo.; two sons, Larry Randall Cockrum of Oshkosh, Wisc., and Richard Franklin Cockrum of Tucson, Ariz.; four sisters, Opal Lee Brown of Jonesboro, Unia McBride Burns of Florence, Ala., Tommie Crouch of Trumann; and Glyn Green way of Iron City, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Eric Wolfgang Nelson and Barbara Denise Benson, both of Los Angeles, Brittany Michelle Nelson of St. Charles, Don Randall Cockrum of Rice Lake, Wisc., Jon Cockrum of Kansas City, Mo., and Ernest Dean Cockrum and Nancy Marie Cockrum, both of Tucson; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jon Ira "Butch" Cockrum; his parents, Ira and Robbie Leggett Cockrum; two sisters; one brother; and one grandson.
Funeral services will be announced by Alexander and Sons Guardian Mortuary in Saint Ann, Mo. Burial will be in Mount Lebanon Cemetery at Saint Ann.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Firm Foundations, 1301 Arkansas 69 West, Trumann 72472.

Frank D. Water
Frank D. Waters, 66, of Harrisburg died Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at Jonesboro.
Born in Bradford, he was a farmer and a member of Anderson Tulley Baptist Church in Weona.
Survivors include four brothers, Carl Waters of Pheonix, Charles Tunney and Leon Waters, both of Harrisburg, and Berry W. Waters of Trumann; and three sisters, Jewell King of Trumann and Marie Sloan and Bonnie Hillis, both of Harrisburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 17, at Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home chapel. William Whitlock officiated, and burial followed in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery.
Active pallbearers included Eddie Wray, Larry Wray, Justin Wray, Shelton Wray, Stephen Wray and Jerry Ming.
Honorary pallbearers were James Ed Wray, Jamie Wray, Miles Collier, Bud Anderson, Wayne Tillery, Donnie Stacey, Brandon Roark, Ronnie Sparks and Charles Harris.
