Roxie Marie England
Mrs. Roxie Marie England of Trumann passed away January 24, 2003, at Regional Medical Center of NEA in Jonesboro, Ark., of natural causes. He was 91 years old.
Mrs. England was born in Lunsford, Ark. on December 31, 1911, and had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was a housewife and of the Pentecostal faith. Mrs. England was preceded in death by her husband, Marley Lawrence "M.L." England in 1983; one sister, six brothers and was the daughter of the late Ed and Ethel Cartt Richardson.
Mrs. England is survived by one son, J.W. England of Trumann and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Mae Russell, Mrs. Bertha Walls and Mrs. Lucille Ragsdale, all of Trumann.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 26, in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Homes in Trumann with Rev. Larry Tribble officiating. The burial followed at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Pallbearers were Gary Beard, Gene Benson, David Richardson, Terry Richardson, Ronnie Samuel, Scott Taylor and Keith Williams.
Vaughn William Lansdell
Vaughn William Lansdell, Sr., 78, of Trumann passed away June 10 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro of natural causes.
He was born in Cleveland, Ark. and had lived most of his life in the Trumann area. He was retired from the Singer Manufacturing Co. of Trumann, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Headley Lansdell; two daughters; one son; one brother and his parents Sevier Clay and Bessie Dunlap Lansdell.
He is survived by three daughters, Alice Byram of Jonesboro, Barbara Campbell of Burnsville, Miss. And Susan DeFries of Marmaduke; four sons, Vaughn Lansdell of Harrisburg, James Lansdell of Lake City, Leroy Lansdell of Marmaduke and Jimmy Lansdell of Jonesboro; one sister, Verna Blansett of Caraway; one brother, J.C. Lansdell of Trumann; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Thursday, June 12, 2003 at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. Funeral Services were Friday June 13, 2003 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Bufford officiating. Burial followed at Marked Tree Cemetery in Marked Tree.
Pallbearers were Jeffery Campbell, Jason Campbell, Kenneth Lansdell, Shane Harmon, Vaughn Lansdell, III, Billy Harmon, Ricky Harmon, Phillip Waters, Justin Puverville, Dustin Lansdell and Cody Lansdell.
Alice Watkins
Mrs. Alice Dee "Dee Dee" Watkins passed away August 3, 2003, at the family residence in Trumann of natural causes. She was 86 years old.
Mrs. Watkins was born in Harrisburg, Ark., and was a lifetime resident of the Trumann area. She was a retired bookkeeper for Stuckey's Gin and a member of First General Baptist Church in Trumann. Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by two sisters; four brothers and was the daughter of the late Silas Davis and Julia Allen Threkield Terry.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Nellie Holt of Trumann, Mrs. Phyllis Staggs of Blytheville, Ark., Mrs. Suzette Stroud of Heber Springs, Ark, Mrs. Billie Jean Easton of Jonesboro; two sons, Terry Watkins of Bono and Jimmy Watkins of Trumann; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 05, 2003, in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Darrel Miller officiating. The burial followed at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Active pallbearers were Al Jr. Ishmael, Steve Ishmael, Ben Spiker, Joey Watkins, Justin Watkins, Jeff Holt, Rodney Staggs and Kevin Watkins. Honorary pallbearers were Donald Valentine, Larry Tonne, Larry Jones, John Stuckey and Harold Box.
The family requests that those wishing to leave lasting memorials in honor of Mrs. Watkins, to donate to the St. Bernard's Hospice.
Roland B. Wells
Roland B. Wells of Groveland, Fla., died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at Westminster Care Center in Clermont, Fla., of natural causes. He was 86 years old. Mr. Wells was born in Trumann on March 29, 1917, and had lived since 1954. He was a retired worker and member of the Praise Temple Church of God in Groveland, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lily Frances Wells, in 1997, one brother, one sister, and was the son of the late Walter A. and Tennie Mills Wells. Mr. Wells is survived by his daughters, Mrs. Geneva Buie and Mrs. Barbara J. Higdon, both of Groveland, Fla.; son, Allen D. Wells of Groveland, Fla.; brother, Doyle Wells of Trumann; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held Saturday morning at Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ar in honor of Mr. Wells. Rev. Doyle Householder officiated.
Jessie Lee Ware
Jessie Lee Ware, 15, of Jonesboro passed away on Jan. 3, 2005 at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro of natural causes.
He was born in Memphis, had lived in Jonesboro for the past two years and was formerly of Blytheville. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Jonesboro Annie Camp Choir, a former football player at Wilson Jr. High School and obtained a yellow belt in Takwondo.
He is survived by his father, Grady Roberts of Alband, La.; his mothers, Alice Weatherford; two sisters, Ava Ware of Jonesboro and Faith Roberts of Alband, La.; two brothers, John Roberts of Jonesboro and Terry Ware of Camp Pendelton, Calif.; maternal grandmother, Alice Ellis of Osceola; maternal grandfather, Clifton Ware of Grenada, Miss. and paternal grandmother, Ann Everhart of Trumann.
Funeral services were Friday, Jan. 7, 2005 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Allen Ashlock officiating.
Burial followed at Wilson Cemetery in Harrisburg.
Pallbearers were Richard Everhart, Troy Everhart, Matthew West, Ken Adams, Jerry Jarvis and Buddy Jarvis.

Albert Dewight "Buddy" Timbs, 64, of Trumann died Thursday, July 3 at the family residence. Timbs was born in Weona, Ark. and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. He was a retired truck driver and of the Pentecostal faith.

Jimmy C. Turner, 83 of Trumann died Thursday June 26, 2008, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in and a lifetime resident of Trumann, he was a farmer, and a U.S. Army veteran serving as technical sergeant at the Clark Air Force Base in the Manila, Philippines. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Willis and Jimmie Lee Glasgow Turner, and one brother, Richard A. Turner.
