Connie Vierra
Connie Louise Jordan Vierra, 59, of Russellville died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010.
Born April 12, 1951, in Modesto, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Fred Jordan and Nola Webb Jordan. She was also preceded in death by four grandchildren, six brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her husband, James Vierra; a son, Jerry Lee Jr. of Wisconsin; four daughters, Tammy Lee McNair of Center Ridge, Tanya Lee of New York, Cynthia Pettit of Malvern and Carolyne Turner of Midway; three brothers, Bill, Bob and Ronnie Jordan and a sister, Nadine Housden, all of California.
Graveside service will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at Gobbler Cemetery
in Berryville with Larry Teas officiating. Arrangements are by Bob Neal and Sons of Morrilton.
Edna Majors
Edna Dell Majors, age 83, of Perry, Ark., passed away on July 19, 2010. Born March 1, 1927, at Belleville, Ark., to Lee and Jennie Moudy. Majors was a homemaker, retired cosmetologist and a retired postmaster of 27 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Jane Moudy, Anna Belle Moudy and Elnora Sherman; and grandson, Kevin Bradley Majors.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joseph L. Majors of the home; daughter, Linda Scroggin (Jon) of Little Rock; sons, Danny Majors and Mike Majors of Perry, and Gary Majors (Mary Ann) of Perryville; grandchildren, Matt Scroggin, Stacey Scroggin, Gennifer Majors, Josh Majors and Isaac Majors; brothers, Opal Lee Moudy of Jonesboro, Dr. Bob Moudy of Chaffee, Mo., Larry Moudy of Valley View, Texas; plus many nieces and nephews.
She was a charter member of Second Baptist Church in Perryville.
Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at the church.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church in Perryville with Brother Glenn Alley officiating. Burial will be at Russell Cemetery
in Belleville following the service.
Pallbearers will be Matt Scroggin, Josh Majors, Isaac Majors, Harold Majors, Ed Fair and Jon Scroggin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Carter, Jimmy Ray Evans, Harold Cox, David Stone and Herby Branscum.
Funeral to be under the direction of Cornwell Funeral Home Danville.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Arkansas Hospice or the charity of your choice.
Nelda Merryfield
Nelda Merryfield, 74, of Russellville, formerly of Gracemont, Okla., died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Little Rock.
The daughter of Don and Effie Drake, she was born
April 18, 1936, in Gracemont, Okla. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Russellville. She loved and cared for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Merryfield, Jr.; her parents; and a brother, Bill Drake.
She is survived by her three children, Michael Merryfield and wife, Sharon, of Mustang, Okla., Reguana Collins and husband, Les, of Russellville, and Kenneth Merryfield and wife, Becky, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; six grandchildren, Angela Johnson of Mustang, Okla., Dustin Merryfield and Joy of Mustang, Okla., Melinda Pyle and Chris of Geneva, Ill., Alicia Weatherford and Chip of Russellville, Ryan Collins of Baltimore, Md., and Craig Collins of Russellville; three step-grandchildren, Shannon Harrison of Oklahoma, Tyson Daugherty of Oklahoma and Tanner Daugherty of Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Brittny, Tyler, Michia, Kylie, Carmen, Alexis, Cooper, Gavin, Reagan and Cadence; step-great-grandchildren, Tate, Jett, Kale, Kamden and Riley; and sister-in-law, Louise Drake of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Charlotte Mills
Charlotte K. Mills, 64, of Russellville died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at her home.
The daughter of Charles and Billie Faye Martin Webster, she was born
Nov. 12, 1945, in Texarkana, Ark. She was a 1964 graduate of Woodlawn High School in Shreveport, La., and attended college in Natchitoches, La. She and Brad Mills were married
on June 14, 1969. She was a member of the Russellville Christian Center. She enjoyed arts and crafts, knitting, she loved being with her grandchildren and family, and was a very good cook. One of the special dishes she enjoyed preparing for her family was her famous Parker Chili. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Sharon.
She is survived by her husband, Brad Mills of Russellville; two children, Michael G. Mills and wife, Renee, of Russellville and Katherine Horn and husband, Chris, of Alma; and three grandchildren, Michael Kitchens and Kirk Kitchens of Russellville, and Parker Hovis of Alma; and her parents, Charles and Billie Faye Webster of Dardanelle.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2010, at Russellville Christian Center. The Rev. Tom Underhill will officiate. Burial will be at Ashdown Cemetery
by Humphrey Funeral Service.

Gerald Clyde Brewer, 68, of Russellville, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Lemley Funeral Chapel.
Visitation will be open Saturday before the funeral.
Margaret Busby
Margaret Ellen Busby, 78, of Newport died Monday, July 19, 2010, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.
She was born
Jan. 24, 1932, in Jackson County, the daughter of Monroe and Neta Davis Milligan. Margaret owned and operated Modern Beauty Shop in Newport for 15 years. She then worked with Merchants and Planters Bank, retiring as bookkeeping supervisor after 27 years of service. Margaret was a member of Holden Avenue Church of Christ, active in BPW, serving as president in 1985-86. She was also a member of Associated Women for Harding and Senior Circle. Margaret enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking and sharing meals and good times with friends and family. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 42 years, Jessie Busby; three sisters, Lois, Ernestine and Madeline; and two brothers, Cornelius and A.J.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Frick and husband, Steve, of Russellville; two grandchildren, Kristan Stuart and wife, Jennifer, of North Little Rock and Elizabeth Bland and husband, Doug, of Kennet Square, Pa.; three step-grandchildren, Jim Frick and wife, Michelle, of Raleigh, N.C., David Frick and wife, Tina, of Canyon Lake, Texas, and Fawn Dykes and husband, David, of DeQueen; and 10 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Davis, Stuart, Owen, Jonathan, Sarah Jane, Drew, Ashley, Abby and Will.
Visitation will be 6-8 tonight at Dillinger Funeral Home in Newport.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010, at the Holden Avenue Church of Christ in Newport with Glen Knabe officiating. Burial will follow at Coffeyville Cemetery.
Victor Woods
Victor Lee Woods, 51, of Hot Springs died Sunday July 11, 2010.
He was born
Sept. 23, 1958, in Russellville to Robert Lee and Patsy Ruth West Woods.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Lynn Woods; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Shawn McKinney of Royal; son, Cameron Lee Woods of Hot Springs; parents, J.C. and Patsy Ables of Hot Springs; sister and brother-in-law Vivian and Earl Mitchell of Cabot; sister Libby Collier of Hot Springs; brother and sister-in-law Michael and Lisa Ables of Little Rock; and grandson, Aiden Allen McKinney of Royal.
Services were July 14 at Gross Funeral Home at Hot Springs. Burial was in Memorial Garden Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gross Funeral Home of Hot Springs.
Kathryn Floyd
Kathryn Anita McQuage Osborn Floyd, 69, of Russellville died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, with her family and friends by her side, after battling lung cancer.
She was born
Nov. 19, 1940, at Hartsville, South Carolina to Harvey Lolo and Lessie Thompson McQuage. She enjoyed bowling and crocheting. She was employed by Tyson Distribution for more than 16 years in the personnel department, and enjoyed spending her vacations with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Brian Keith and Lisa Osborn of Colorado; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lori Ann and Michael Sims of Colorado, Christina Lee and Barry Walker of Dover, and Sherry Lynn Osborn-Adorno of Russellville; a brother, Keith O’Steen of Jacksonville, Florida; two sisters, Miriam “Tootsie” Blockover of South Carolina and Denise Krein of Florida; 10 beautiful grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and other relatives and friends.
The family would like to invite all friends to attend a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at the Shinn Chapel.
