Robert Bacon
DARDANELLE - Robert E. Bacon, 75, of New Blaine died Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at his home.
He was born
Jan. 26, 1934, in Connecticut and was a retired electrical worker in Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie Young Bacon; and a daughter, Klia Dangron of New Blaine.
Mr. Bacon donated his remains to medical science. Arrangements were by Cornwell Funeral Home.
Billy Smith
CLARKSVILLE - Billy Russell Smith, 63, of Clarksville died Sunday, July 12, 2009, at his home.
He was born
July 28, 1945, at Shinston, W. Va., son of Arnold Ruhl and Sybil Imogene Bates Smith. He was a retired truck driver and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lola Jane Searfose.
Survivors include two daughters, Summer Lloyd of Kosse, Texas, and Tracy “Sam” Smith of Austin, Texas; and two grandchildren, Sara Lloyd and Tyler Lloyd.
Cremation arrangements are by Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Donnie Williams
Donnie Paul Williams, 62, of Appleton passed away Monday, July 13, 2009, at his home.
A son of the late Louis and Ada Williams, he was born
April 13, 1947, in Arkansas. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jimmy Paul Jr. Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Williams of Russellville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Sammie and Debra Williams of Appleton, Joey and Julie Williams of Appleton, and Jimmy and Kitty Hamilton of Appleton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly Williams of Russellville, and Patricia and Bert Watkins of Russellville; two sisters, Eva Snow of Appleton, and Shirley and Bob Hillis of Atkins; an aunt, Rachel McClain of Atkins; 13 grandchildren, Chris, Donnie and Tiffany Williams, Buba Gadberry, Shane Baker, Emma, Ethan and Waylon Hamilton, Marissa Hillis, and Kayle, Kasey, Mac and Liberty Watkins; six nephews; and a niece.
Memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at White Oak Mountain at Appleton. Arrangements are by Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Victor Alba
Victor Luis Alba, 21 of Springdale died Wednesday, June 24, 2009.
He was born
June 15, 1988, in Sacramento, Calif., to Victor and Frankie Kostic Alba. He worked for Tyson Ford Avenue and enjoyed canoeing and camping with friends.
Survivors include his parents, Victor and Frankie Alba of Springdale; two sisters, Dianna Alba of Russellville and Kristen Alba of Springdale; niece, Haley McGuigan of Russellville; nephew, Mark Aiden McGuigan of Russellville; several cousins, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale. Interment
will follow at Bluff Cemetery.
Barbara Bennett
Barbara Nell Tidwell Waller Bennett, 56 of Russellville died Friday, April 24, 2009, at her home.
She was born
Aug. 3, 1952, in Portsmouth, Va., to William and Jimmie Nell Clement Tidwell. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jimmie Tidwell, and brother, David Tidwell. She had worked at Arkansas Nuclear One for 26 years and was a member of Atkins Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Danny Waller Bennett; father, William Tidwell; son, Jason Gutierrez; two daughters and sons-in-law, Danielle and Travis Bryant and Melannie and Kip Bennett, all of Russellville; three stepsons Shane Waller Bennett and Shawn Waller Bennett of Conway, and Seth Waller Bennett of Fort Lewis, Wash.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Rodney and Kay Tidwell, Terry and Cindy Tidwell, and Mark and Carla Tidwell, all of Russellville; two grandchildren, Caleb and Aleigh Bryant; two step-grandchildren, Hunter and Madison Bennett; and two nieces and three nephews.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. today at Atkins Church of Christ with Neal Chisum officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery
by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins.

Edward E. Fields Sr.
Edward E. Fields Sr., 64, of Pottsville, received his invitation to join his Heavenly Father, Sunday, April 26, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family.
The son of Paul Edward Fields and Mable Ford, he was born
March 29, 1945, in Miami, Okla. He married
Phyllis Williams on March 22, 1966, in Waco, Texas. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3928.
He lived 20 years in Corpus Christi, Texas, the owner of Fields Lathe & Plastering. He was the owner/operator of Fields Maintenance in Orlando, Fla., before retiring to Arkansas.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and working on his farm in Pottsville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Fields; mother and stepfather, Mable and Albert Murray; and sister, Patsy McGuire.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Phyllis Fields of Pottsville; three sons, Eddie Fields and wife, Lisa, of Orlando, Fla., Mike Fields and wife, Laura, of Dover, and Joey Fields and wife, Beth, of Pottsville; stepdaughter, Laura Bailey of Oklahoma City, Okla.; eight granddaughters, Erika Glenn and husband, Rocky, of Orlando, Fla., Ashley and Lainey Fields of Orlando, Fla., Jennifer and Jacqueline Fields of Dover, Caitlin and Brooklin Fields of Pottsville, and Krista Vick of Gosnell, Ark.; two grandsons, Evan Fields of Dover and Jimmy Vick of Gosnell; two great-granddaughters, Layla Glenn of Orlando, Fla., and Kylie Vick of Gosnell; one sister, Loretta Fuller and husband, Jim, of Fulton, Mo.; three brothers, James Fields and wife, Ellen, of Wichita, Kan., Frank Fields and wife, Carol, of Melrose, Fla., Joe Lawrence and wife, Susie, of Henderson, Nev.; several nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Humphrey Chapel with the Rev. Danny Green officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers will be Eddie Fields, Joey Fields, Evan Fields, the Rev. Tim Fields, Dr. Randell Fuller and Don Paul.
Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Williams, Harry Cannon, Mike Stricklin and all of his brothers at the FOE 3928.

Bill Darby
“Bill” Darby, 66, of Russellville died Monday, April 27, 2009, at his home.
The son of Fred and Ealnor Heath Darby, he was born
Aug. 28, 1942, in Russellville. He was the owner of Mega Wholesale/Mega Coffee. He loved spreading God’s Word. He was an ordained minister and preached at Legacy Lodge Nursing Center. He ran the food bank “Love In Action”. He loved to fish and spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was a friend to all who knew him or met him. When asked if he needed anything he always stated “You got a bucket of $5 dollar bills.” He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Donna Darby and Charlotte Mae Darby.
Survivors include two sisters, Peggy Floyd and Louise Riggs both of Louisiana; four children, Tina Frederick and husband, Tim, of Maryland, Bryan Darby and wife, Starla, of Kansas, Richard Darby of Kansas, Crystal Baxley and husband, John, of Dardanelle; two stepchildren, Jim Myers and wife, Donna, of Danville and Chuck Myers of Dover; best friend, Jim Clark and wife, Carolyn, of Pottsville; fiancee’, Diane Davis of Dover; 18 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a special grandson, Bryan Myers of Fort Bragg, N.C.; and his extended family at Legacy Lodge.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church. Pastor Terry Thacker will officiate. Burial will be at Shiloh-Williamson Cemetery
at Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Genevieve Fryer
ATKINS - Genevieve Leggett Fryer, 87, of Atkins passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009, in Russellville surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born
March 27, 1922, in Kansas City, Mo., a daughter of W.J. and Ethel Fridell Leggett. She was a graduate of Jerusalem High School. She married
Marion Drew Fryer on Dec. 22, 1946. She was a loving mother, homemaker and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Atkins for 49 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother, Bill Leggett, and a sister Pearl Leggett.
She is survived by two daughters and son-in-laws, Sharon and Mike Keith of Little Rock and Cindy and Brad Thompson of Atkins; one brother, Paul Leggett of Fort Smith; one sister, Mary Thomas of Lecompte, La.; two granddaughters, Brooke Burnett and Mary Catherine Thompson; one grandson, Blake Burnett; and one great-grandson, Dawson Burnett.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church of Atkins with Brother Mark Griffith and Brother Scott Tyler officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are by Lemley Funeral Home.
