Judith Steele
Judith Steele, 62, of Russellville, the widow of Jerry Steele, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
A daughter of the late Victor Eugene and Wilma Faye Flanagan Sturgeon, she was born
April 18, 1946, in Tulsa, Okla. She was a former telephone operator, a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and a member of the “Best Mother In The World” Club.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sondra and Tom Henderson of Dover; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Joy Steele of Dardanelle; five grandchildren: Amy Ward, Kelli Jolley, Zac Elliott, Amber Steele and Jamie Henderson; and two great-grandchildren: Michael Jolley and Gabby Ward.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at Shinn Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Billy Ellis.
Entombment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Mausoleum, by Shinn Funeral Service.
Memorials may be made to charity of the donor’s choice.
Blake Beaty
Blake Anthony Beaty, 12, a resident of Russellville, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at his home.
He was born
Jan. 14, 1996, in Russellville to Chad Michael and Melisa Dawn Nye Beaty. He was in sixth grade at Russellville Middle School, where he played the tuba in the band and was No. 78 on the peewee football team “Winds Black Team.”
He was a member of Troop 214 of the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Delaware and sometimes attended First Assembly of God in Dardanelle.
He was preceded in death by an uncle, Elton “Junior” Hopkins.
Survivors include his parents, Chad and Melisa Beaty of Russellville; two sisters, Jessyka Autumn and Kayla Lauren Beaty, both of the home; his paternal grandparents, John and Carolyn Beaty of Russellville; his maternal grandparents, Vernon and Vicky Nye of Dardanelle; a great-grandmother, Bonnie Hopkins of Russellville; numerous uncles and aunts, including Patty Nye of Russellville, Michael Nye of Dardanelle, Michelle Reddell of Dardanelle, Kit and Heather Teague of California, and Rhonda Satterthwaite of Virginia; numerous great-uncles and great-aunts, including Mike and Lisa Hopkins of Dardanelle and Teresa Hopkins of Danville; numerous cousins, including Lindsay Thomas of Harrison, Bryceson Satterthwaite of Fayetteville, Heather Spencer of Danville, Shannon Hopkins of Nashville, Tenn., and Carly and Jesse Hopkins, both of Dardanelle; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct.14, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Delaware with Bros. Wylie Jones and Ethan Robinson officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers will be Jesse Hopkins, Michael Nye, Kit Teague, Lloyd Callan, Chad Johnson and Todd Spencer. Honorary pallbearers will be Troop 214 and the Winds Black peewee football team.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at the funeral home.

Jackie Hurst
Jackie Hurst, 29, of Russellville died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at UAMS in Little Rock.
The daughter of Rocky and Claudette Ingram Hooker, she was born
Dec. 23, 1978, in Farmington Hills, Mich. She married
William Hurst on April 10, 2004, at Taylor, Mich. She was a member of the Mountain View Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed wood crafts, music and singing.
Survivors include her husband, William “Wilber” Hurst of Russellville; her parents, Rocky and Claudette Hooker of Michigan; one sister, Jennifer Lutzen and husband, Mike, of Michigan; three brothers, Chris Hooker and wife, Michele, Gary Hooker and Michael Hooker, all of Michigan; five nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at Humphrey Chapel. The Rev. Hank Duvall will officiate. Burial will be at Hudson Cemetery
at Moreland under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.

"Hob" Langford, age 82, a resident of Russellville, AR, died Friday, August 3, 2001 at National Park Medical Center at Hot Springs, AR. He was born
on July 29, 1919 at Hector, AR, to Oscar & Ellie (Williams) Langford. Mr. Langford retired in July 1981, as a Heavy Equipment Operator with the Arkansas State Highway Department, and was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Russellville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rheba Langford; a brother, Leslie Langford; his nephew, Bobby Langford; his parents; and one brother in law, Melton Trotter. Survivors include one brother & sister-in-law, Arbon & Georgia Langford of Russellville, Arkansas; one sister, Hildred Trotter of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Marie Langford of Russellville, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Coy E. Blaney, age 90, a life resident of Russellville, AR, formerly of Russellville, Ar., died Saturday, August 4, 2001 at V. A. Regional Medical Center at Little Rock, AR. He was born
on April 11, 1911, at Lost Corner, AR, to Elisah & Cora Mason Blaney. He was a Army Veteran of World War II having received the Purple Heart Medal. Clara Parker Taylor Hefley, age 89, a resident of Russellville, AR, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at her home. She was born
on January 16, 1912 at Flat Rock, Arkansas, to Joseph B. William Icahbod "John the Baptist" Parker and Lucinda Melinda Myra Katherine Martha Adeline Vinson Parker. She was the widow of Robert Hefley and was also preceded by her first husband, J. H. Taylor, Sr. and her son, James Taylor, Jr. Mrs. Hefley was a member of the Pope County Home Demonstration Club and was very active in 4-H. She was also active at the Senior Adult Center. S he was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. Theresa E. Huemme, age 94, a resident of Russellville, AR, formerly of Kansas City, Kansas, died Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at Stella Manor Nursing Home at Russellville, AR. She was born
on September 12, 1906 at Brunswick, MO, to Paul and Katherine Ferguson Gurst. She was the widowed of the late Albert Huemme. She was a retired telephone Operator with AT&T for 37 years and worked in Kansas City, Missouri and New York City and also Washington, D. C. During her years as an overseas telephone operator during World War II she often talked with Presidents, dignitaries and celebrities. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Gurst, Eugene Gurst and a sister-in-law, Lorene Gurst. She was a member of the All Saints Lutheran Church in Kansas City, Kansas. Survivors include one brother, Paul Gurst of Los Angeles, CA; one sister, Edna Barnes of Sacramento, CA; one nephew, Gary Barnes of Russellville, AR; two nieces, Sandra Ambrose of Sacramento, Ca; and Pat Barnes of Sacramento, Ca; and several great nieces and nephews. Bernard G. "Bernie" Boggs, Sr., age 77, a resident of Russellville, Arkansas, and formerly of Sun City Center, Florida, died Sunday, January 20, 2002 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born
on December 28, 1924 in West Virginia to Ernest and Claudia (Henderson) Boggs. Mr. Boggs served in the United States Navy during World War II on the USS Franklin as a pharmacist mate. He married
Margaret Oreskovich on November 27, 1946. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Mountain State College in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He worked as an accountant with International Harvester for over 30 years and retired in 1981. While living in New York Mr. Boggs was an active member of the Clifton Park Church of Christ where he served as an elder and bible class teacher. In Florida the family attended the Bell Shoals Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and was active in the Silver Saints group. Bernie was a member of the West Side Church of Christ in Russellville. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Wayne, Ernest "Junior", Bill and George Boggs.
