Virgie Johnson
DARDANELLE - Virgie Erma Johnson, 92, of Dardanelle passed away Sunday, May 6, 2007, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville.
She was born
Oct. 12, 1914, at Havana to Ples and Mattie Harris. She was the wife of the late Virgil Johnson and the mother of Shirley Ann Rollans and Janelle Parker Fink. She was a member of Centerville First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Johnson; her parents; three brothers, Orman Harris, Eschel Harris and Edward Harris.
Survivors include two daughters, Janelle Parker Fink and Shirley Rollans, both of Dardanelle; three grandchildren, Mitchell Rollans, Suzie Reynolds and Pam Woodson, all of Dardanelle; four great-grandchildren, Amy Ford of Dardanelle, Adam Case of Cabot, Todd Houston of Dardanelle and Hope Wells of Pottsville; two great-great-grandsons, Chance Marshall and Carson Ford of Dardanelle; three sisters, Bernice Garrison and Pauline Cook of Dardanelle, and Ruth Allen of Jacksonville; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2007, at Centerville First Baptist Church with Brother James Whitlock and Brother Bobby Loyd officiating. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home.

Arnold Kreipke
CLARKSVILLE - Arnold F. Kreipke, 83, of Clarksville died Monday, May 7, 2007, at his home.
Born Oct. 26, 1923, at Lutherville, he was the son of the late William Fredrick and Katharine “Katie” Gompf Kreipke. He was a farmer and cattleman, a graduate of Lamar High School, and a member of Farm Bureau and Grace Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Martin Kreipke; and a sister, Lydia Hensling.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Elder Kreipke; stepdaughters, Barbara Goodin and husband, Jimmy, of Clarksville and Deborah Lou Babbitt and husband, Jim, of Kansas City, Mo.; a stepson, Tom Jennings and wife, Judy, of Kansas City, Mo.; sisters, Irene Tanner of Wichita, Kan., Clara Blackwell of Clarksville and Dora Smith of Los Angeles, Calif.; step-grandchildren, Toby Jennings, Christopher Jennings, Justin Babbitt, Jared Babbitt, Sherry Clayborn, Lisa Basham, Randall Goodin and Kelly Bridges; step-great-grandchildren, Matthew Ryan Babbitt, Steffanie Barto, Eric Basham, Sean Basham, Joe Basham, Kirstie Bridges and Trey Bridges; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will be in New Mulberry Cemetery
at Mulberry. Arrangements are by Hardwicke Funeral Home.
Pallbearers include Toby Jennings, Christopher Jennings, Justin Babbitt, Jared Babbitt, Jim Babbitt and Leo Knoernschild.

Sisouphanh Outhavong
Sisouphanh Outhavong, 44, of Hot Springs died Saturday, May 5, 2007, at his home.
He was born
Nov. 2, 1962, in Laos to Thoune and Kham Outhavong. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include a brother, Lysong Oupasith of Pottsville; and three sisters, Kongchanh Saengdarapheth of Illinois, Vilayvanh Vongsaly of Minnesota and Khanthamala Phetsyrorraj of Alabama. He is also survived by three brothers and two sisters, all of Laos.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2007, at the Shinn Chapel. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery
near Pottsville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.
Dorothy Wilcox
Dorothy May Wilcox, 96, of Russellville, formerly of Memphis, Tenn., died Sunday, May 6, 2007, at her home.
The daughter of Joseph and Kate Goldman, and widow of William Gordon Wilcox, she was born
May 30, 1910, in St. Louis, Mo.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and David Ginsberg of Germantown, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Gordon Ginsberg and wife, Ellen, of Memphis, Mike Ginsberg and wife, Madelyn, of Russellville, and Amy McCaffery and husband, Tim, of Arlington, Tenn.; and six great-grandchildren, Brandon Uehlein, Kerry Roberts and husband, Robbie, Sam Ginsberg, Jessica Ginsberg, and Kyle and Katie McCaffery. She was joyfully anticipating the birth of twin great-great-grandsons by great-granddaughter Kerry and husband Robbie in August.
Memorial services will be private. Cremation arrangements were by Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Brent Birkhead
DARDANELLE - Brent Alden Birkhead, 47, of Covington, Ga., died Thursday, April 5, 2007, in Georgia.
Born Oct. 21, 1969, in Memphis, Tenn., he was the son of Dean and Janis Birkhead of Dardanelle. He enjoyed playing music, electronics, computers and was a tool and die maker.
Survivors include his wife, Tanya Lunsford Birkhead of Covington, Ga.; his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Connie Hunt of Senatobla, Miss.; two nephews, Bailey Hunt and Bedford Hunt; and a niece, Anna-Blair Hunt.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wheeler Funeral Home in Covington, Ga.
Local funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at Cornwell Chapel, 207 Quay St., Dardanelle, with Rev. Roger Glover officiating. Interment
will be in Elizabeth Hall Cemetery, New Blaine.
Pallbearers include Bailey Hunt, Bedford Hunt, Don Welsh, Kip Welsh, Wayne Harper and Jordan Harper.

Raymond Jones
Raymond A. Jones, 74, of Russellville, died Friday, April 6, 2007, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
The son of Charles and Flora Price Jones, he was born
Aug. 27, 1932, in Durham, N.C. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1952 during the Korean Conflict and was a BTCM (Master Chief) during his career of 22 years before retiring. He married
Pat Braswell, on June 13, 1954, at York, S.C. After retiring from the military and moving to Russellville, he owned Rest Haven Memorial Park for about 14 years. He was a past member of the Russellville Noon Rotary Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Rogers-Rye Post 2283, Fleet Reserve Association in California and Plank Owner of the USS Kitty Hawk. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pat Jones of Russellville; two daughters, Jennifer Skaggs, and Peggy Bond and husband, Kenny; four grandchildren, Jansen Choate, Abbie Skaggs, Kendall Bond and Kamrynn Bond; and a sister, Jean Marquardt, all of Russellville.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2007, at Humphrey Chapel with Pastor Wayne Drain officiating. There is no visitation planned. Military honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2283 of Russellville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.

DANVILLE - Leonard Page, born
Feb. 15, 1918, in Belleville to Harrison and Winnie Kiersey Page, died Friday, April 6, 2007, at Dardanelle.
He was raised in the Ranger area, lived in Tulsa in his teenage years, then moved to western Kansas at about 16. He worked on a farm in Tribune, Kan., for Mr. C.L. Curtis and credits Curtis for having a great influence in molding his life and work ethics. He later farmed in Oklahoma and Colorado. He returned to Belleville in 1973, where he farmed, raised chickens, did mechanic work and built and worked on airplanes. For several years, he and his children traveled, sang and played country music as the Page Brothers and Louella. He is a member of the Upper Spring Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Page, of the home; three sons and their wives, Leon and Peggy Page, Ohio, Curtis and Wanda Page, Colorado, and Forrest Lynn Page, Arkansas; one daughter and husband, Luella and Paul Vines, Arkansas, and the mother of his children, Laura Page, Little Rock; stepdaughters, Diana Grindstaff, Oklahoma, and Donna Lofthouse, Washington; three brothers, Russell Lee Page, Texas, Ed and Boyce Page, Belleville; two sisters, Ernestine Carter, Maryland, Louise Johnson, Ranger; a special friend, Rosemary Page; nine grandchildren, James Wolff, Christina Elder, Laura Kent, Stephanie Summit, Justin Page, Jennifer Page, Jake Nicks and Raven Dawson; step-grandchildren, Christopher Grindstaff, Joshua, Kenneth and Douglas Lofthouse; great-grandchildren, Kerri Joy Elder, Christopher Elder, Vaughn Caleb Kent, Peyton Grace Kent, James, Johnathan, David and Heleith Wolff; step-great-grandchildren, Jade and Coby Lofthouse.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Upper Spring Creek Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Dick Falbo officiating. Burial will be at Lower Spring Creek Cemetery

Fred Svendsen
CONWAY - Frederick John Svendsen, 74, died Friday, April 6, 2007.
Born April 29, 1932, in Omaha, Neb., to Carl and Rose Svendsen, he moved to Russellville in 1978.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Barbara, John E. and Lisa, Jim R. and Jenisse, Joe and Sarah; daughter, Leslee Kunst and husband, Brian; 15 grandchildren; brother, Bob and wife Rosie; sisters, Carol Pohl and Judy Busse and husband Bob.
Memorial will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5, in Springhill, Ark. A separate memorial will be in Culebra, Puerto Rico, this summer.
