Rachel Burfield
DANVILLE -- Rachel Burfield, 84, of Ola died Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville.
Born Dec. 4, 1921, in Danville to Albert and Dora Ann Pledger Noblett, she was a cook at Ola Nursing Home and Mimas Cafe. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Edward Fay Rose and Ralph Burfield.
Survivors include sons, Charles Rose of Centerville, Larry Rose of Birta, Carroll Rose, Jimmy Rose, Danny Burfield and Randy Burfield, all of Ola; daughters, Charlene Rainey of Casa, Brenda Treadwell of Ola, Debbie Holt of Centerville; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Morse, Mamie Rogers, both of Belleville, and Josie Ross of Plainview.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Assembly of God Church in Ola with Rev. Norman Chenowith officiating. Burial will be in Sandlin Cemetery
by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today.
Dewell Bradley
ATKINS -- Robert Dewell Bradley, 83, of Atkins died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Morrilton.
He was born
Aug. 20, 1922, in Pope County and was the son of the late William A. and Betty Virden Bradley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Rilla Bradley; a brother, Royal Bradley; and a sister, Billie Sue Morris. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Bells Chapel Church of Christ, and a retired self-employed grocery store owner.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Linda Bradley of Ashdown, and Kenneth and Cindy Bradley of Bentonville; a daughter, Sharon Dove of North Little Rock; three sisters, Woodine Duvall of Hattieville, Nadine Willcutt of Jerusalem and Virginia Polk of California; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service and burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Shiloh Cemetery
north of Atkins with Robert Hearne officiating. Arrangements are by Lemley Funeral Service.
Visitation will be 6:30-8 tonight.

Don Maxwell
Don Maxwell, age 77, of Russellville died Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at his home.
A son of the late Robert Homer and Goldie Rhea Venable Maxwell, he was born
March 14, 1929, in Atkins. He owned and operated the first Tastee Freeze in Russellville, as well as a grocery store/service station/trailer park in London. He owned the Redwood Inn and Catfish Plantation, was a former sales representative for Sugar Creek Foods in Russellville, an employee of the Pope County Sheriff's Office and was the manager of the City Mall. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by a son, Stan Maxwell.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ina Maxwell; a daughter-in-law, Scharlette Maxwell of Russellville; a sister, Joella Hines of Russellville; a grandson, Jeremy Wayne Maxwell of Russellville; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted by Shinn Funeral Service at 2 p.m. on Friday at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Sheriff Jay Winters, the Rev. Alan Bradley and the Rev. Paul Northcut will officiate. Burial honors will be provided by the Pope County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard.

DARDANELLE -- Richard C. "Rick" Lemons, 45, of Danville died Tuesday, May 23, 2006.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cornwell Chapel. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery

Sue Bizzell
Sue Bizzell, born
in Paris, Ark., on Dec. 1, 1937, went to be with the Lord on May 23, 2006, in Oakpoint, Texas.
She lived in Arkansas until age 20 when she moved to Texas. She worked in the cafeteria at Newman Smith High School for 20 years before retiring. During her life, she always put her family first. The only thing better than being one of her children was being one of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Dub Bizzell; and her brother, H.L. Smith.
Survivors include her children, Melinda Ridout and Pam Sanchez; grandchildren, Capuzene Charity, Deanna Charity and Joseph Sanchez; two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Collin Roach; and two sisters, Pat Cooper and Kathy Soto.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rhoton Funeral Home Chapel at Carrollton, Texas. Burial will be in Hilltop Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Craig Marvel
CLARKSVILLE -- Craig Alan Marvel, 45, of Conway died Tuesday, May 23, at Conway Regional Medical Center.
He was a 1979 graduate of Conway High School, an employee of Crow Burlingame Auto Parts Store, and a member and piano player of Zion Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jo Ann Marvel; and grandparents, Florine Hatcher Green, Clarence Green, Albert and Hazel Poyner Marvel, M.D. Whatley and Henry Slankard.
Survivors include his parents, Bruce and Pat Marvel of Russellville; a brother, Thomas Marvel of Russellville; grandparent, Iona Slankard of El Dorado; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hartman Cemetery
with Larry Pillow officiating. Arrangements are by Roller-Cox Funeral Service.
After the service, the family will gather at the home of Thomas Marvel, 318 Crossgate Drive, Russellville.
Lloyd Kingsbury
Lloyd Horace Kingsbury, 80, of Dover died Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at the home of close friends.
He was born
Jan. 1, 1926, at Derry, N.H., to Horace R. and Albina M. Picard Kingsbury.
He honorably served his country for nearly 20 years in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He enjoyed horses. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Shirley Kingsbury and Fern Kingsbury; and a nephew.
Survivors include a sister, Arlene Varney of Derry, N.H.; a nephew, Pete Varney of Derry; and friends, Scott, Karen and Leslie Kerns, all of Dover.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Brearley Cemetery
in Dardanelle. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy.

David M. Acklen
Funeral services for David Michael Acklen, 56, of Russellville, formerly of Archibald, La., was at 2 p.m. Sunday at Little Creek United Methodist Church in Archibald, La., with the Rev. Howard Childs officiating. Burial was in Little Creek Cemetery

David Michael Acklen was born
Oct. 10, 1949, in Archibald, La., to W.L. and Mary Acklen and passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2006, in Little Rock.
Mike was very loving and faithful to his family and friends. All who really knew him loved him and he will be greatly missed.
Mike was a lifetime member of Little Creek United Methodist Church in Archibald, La.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, W.L. Acklen Jr., Felix W. Acklen and Shepard Acklen.
Survivors include his sisters, Mary Lyn Holloway and husband, Carl, of Archibald, La., and Bettie Ann Brunson and husband, Ted, of Dover; and his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Brett Brunson, Ty Brunson, Dan Brunson, Perry Brunson, Donald Acklen and Jim Archibald.
Honorary pallbearers were Bob Archibald and Steve Archibald.
Bobbye Danner
FAYETTEVILLE -- Bobbye Jean Danner, 82, of Fayetteville died Thursday, May 18, 2006, at North Hills Life Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born
Jan. 28, 1924, in Russellville, the daughter of Elbert and Ollie Gibson Burris. She accepted Christ at an early age and served him as a loving and caring pastor's wife of 55 years. She was actively involved in church music and women's ministries.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Wayne Danner; two sons, Philip Danner and wife Nancy of Lebanon, Mo., Mark Danner and wife Gayla of Fayetteville; one brother, Bill Burris of Springfield, Mo.; six grandchildren, Justin Danner, Maci Danner and Kaid Hopper, all of Fayetteville, Jeff Blue and wife Christie of Louisiana, Joe Blue and wife Ginger of Missouri, Jill Willoughby and husband A.J. of Missouri; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Bobby Johnson, Bill Burris, Tim Smith and Red Dixon officiating. Burial will be Baptist Ford Cemetery
under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
