Lucile Critz

Lucile Critz, age 94, of Little Rock, died icon Saturday, January 11, 2003. She was born icon in Harrison, Arkansas. She was the owner of Critz Chevrolet serving as president of the company during World War II. She was one of the founders of the Civil Air Patrol, Arkansas Wing, and hosted some of the meetings of the original nucleus of the group. She was graded C.A.P. 1st Lieutenant, and assigned as Transportation Officer, Group 741. She was a member of the Country Club of Little Rock, an avid golfer and followed the Arkansas golf circuit for several years. She was a member of First Christian Church. Lucile was a very popular socially and was known for her sense of humor, which often added spirit to the lives of others.

She is preceded in death by a brother John M. Critz and survived by his widow, Jane H. Critz.

She is also survived by a brother, Robert L. Critz and wife Joy of Lahabra, California, four nephews; John M. “Martin” Critz, Hall, Rogers and Stephen Critz, three nieces Jane Anne Smith Jerry Lu Wagnon and Jennifer Fisher.

There will a visitation held Tuesday from 4 to 6 P.M. at Ruebel Funeral Home followed Wednesday at 2 P.M. with a graveside funeral service at Roselawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.

Memorials in lieu of flowers should be made to Presbyterian Village or the First Christian Church.

August Edwin Cravens

August Edwin Cravens, age 70, of Little Rock, formally of Newport, Arkansas, died icon Wednesday, December 17, 2003. August was born icon in Newport, Arkansas where he graduated from Newport High School, class of 1952, later graduating from Arkansas State College in 1956. He served three years in the U.S. Army with duty in Okinawa, Japan. After the service he returned to the States teaching school for several years retiring from Cheyenne Industries. August was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Newport, Arkansas.

He is survived by his sister Betty Lou Cravens Gardner and husband John "Chuck" Gardner of Little Rock, one brother, Lewis A. Cravens and wife Anna Rae of Jonesboro, 2 nephews Price Gardner, and Brooks Cravens, one niece Lisa Gardner Ring, 2 special grand-nieces and 2 special grand-nephews.

There will a graveside memorial service Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Sand Hill Cemetery icon in Auvergne, Arkansas officiated by Reverend Alan Ford. Local arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Newport, Arkansas.

Louise Emma Coxon

Louise Emma Coxon, age 96, of Little Rock, died icon July 29, 2003. She was born icon February 23, 1907 in Belleville, IL. to Rose Sir Louis and Adolph Knebelkamp, Sr. A devoted wife and mother, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Josiah Coxon and brother, Adolph Knebelkamp, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Robert L. Coxon and daughter, Judith A. Young and husband Jimmy R.; grandchildren, Susan L. Young Allen, and husband Scott, and David Alan Young and wife Mary Maurice; and great-grandchildren, Emma Bryles Allen and Henry Jackson Allen.

There will be a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2003 at Ruebel Funeral Home with graveside services immediately following at 11:30 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park with the Very Reverend Henry Hudson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Cathedral Parish, 310 W. 17th, Little Rock, AR. 72206 or Arkansas Children's Hospital, 800 Marshall, Little Rock, AR. 72202. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.

Esra Samuel Cook

Esra Samuel Cook, age 96 of Little Rock died icon Tuesday. He was a member of Pulaski Heights Methodist Church and was serving as a member of the Board of Stewards at the time of his death. A 33rd degree Mason, he was a longtime active member of many Masonic organization of both the York and the Scottish rites and won highest honors for his devoted service. He retired as office manager and accountant for F. Strauss and Sons in 1982 and as accountant for Hall's Drug Store in 1990.

Born on September 18, 1907, in Wiville, Arkansas, the eldest son of Esra Samuel Cook, senior, and Cora Robertson Matkin Cook. Predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Daphne Terrell Cook, brothers Wyatt, Nicholas, Ernest Bo Matkin, and Fred Cook, and by sister Katherine Cook Kincaid of Tampa, Florida. He is survived by a brother, Francis Cook of North Little Rock, daughters and sons-in-law Rose Lynette and H. Delano Black of Memphis and Mary Diane and Gerald R. Wachholz of Fort Myers, Florida; grandchildren Scott Neal, Dylan Black, Stacy Riebel, and Leslie Black; and by five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 26 at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church with the graveside service following at 3:00 p.m. at Murfreesboro Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.

Charlene Lowe Carder Copeland

Charlene Lowe Carder Copeland, 72 of Little Rock passed away Friday (Dec. 19, 2003). She was born icon July 15, 1931 in Prattsville to the late Jack and Bertha Keedy Carder. She was also preceded in death by her husband Clovis Copeland; two brothers, Homer & Raymond Carder; and one sister, Dorrine Ray. She was a graduate of Sheridan High School and Draughan School of Business. She was retired from UAMS as a secretary in the Child Study Center.

She is survived by one son, Jackie Copeland of Violet Hill; two daughters, Susan Holmes of Little Rock, Dianne Cox and her husband Terry of Lone Oak, TX; one grandson, Roy Andrews and his wife Caroline of Little Rock; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Carson; one brother, Mac Carder and his wife Helen of Little Rock; one sister, Evelyn Gibbs and her husband Mark of Hot Springs; several nieces and nephews that loved her and she loved in return.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday (Dec. 22, 2003) at Ruebel Funeral Home with burial in Pinecrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Lucille Frances Colaianni

Lucille Frances Colaianni, 81, of Little Rock died icon Friday, March 21, 2003. She was born icon December 29, 1921 in Lorain, Ohio to Paul and Frances Colaianni. She received her baccalaureate and master's degrees in French and Spanish from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to coming to Little Rock she taught French and Spanish in Terre Haute, Indiana and at Notre Dame College in Cleveland. For more than a decade she was a member of the papal order of the Sisters of Notre Dame. She was Assistant Professor of Foreign Languages at Little Rock University and then the University of Arkansas at Little Rock from 1964 until her retirement.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers Gilbert P. Colaianni, Sr. and Arthur Colaianni. Survivors include Rosalie M. Cheatham, sisters-in-law Eleanor W. Colaianni and Betty Colaianni, nephew Don Colaianni and his wife Dana, god-daughter and niece Carol Allen and her husband Frank, nephew Gilbert P. Colaianni, Jr. and his wife Teri, niece Janelle Fureigh and her husband Dennis, niece Barbara Colaianni, nephew Arthur Colaianni and nephew Paul Colaianni, nine grand nieces and nephews, seven great-grand nieces and nephews and several close friends. The family extends particular thanks to her faithful and loving caregiver, Alicea Gilliam.

Her life and witness will be celebrated in a memorial mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church Monday, March 24 at 2:00 p.m. by Father Gregory Luyet and the Rev. Howard Gordon, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Little Rock. Visitation at Ruebel Funeral Home will be Sunday, March 23 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Department of Foreign Languages, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, 2801 S. University, Little Rock, 72204.

Miriam Frances Glover Fagan

Miriam Frances Glover Fagan, 74, of Little Rock, died icon Thursday, February 27, 2003. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock. Frances was born icon November 30, 1928, in Lonoke, Arkansas. She graduated from Lonoke High School in 1946 and attended Hendrix College in Conway.

Frances was active in her church and many civic and charitable organizations. She served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Second Presbyterian Church. She was a former Girl Scout Leader, PTA President at Pulaski Heights Junior High School, and she was a past junior board member of the Florence Crittenden Home. Frances was an early volunteer for the Little Rock Civic Ballet, the fore-runner of Ballet Arkansas.

For many years Frances was involved with American Field Service, a foreign exchange student program, which led to a joyful, decades long relationship with Else Hope Kobbe of Bergen, Norway, whom she regarded as a daughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Smith and Edna Gilbert Glover of Lonoke as well as her grandparents, S.S. and Charity Lou Glover, early members of the Lonoke Community, and Fred and Savannah Gilbert who settled in Lonoke from Minnesota.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Ellis M. Fagan III; two sons and daughters-in-law and one daughter and son-in-law: David and Nancy Fagan of Scottsdale, Arizona; Fran and Joe Holmes and Warren and Pam Fagan, all of Little Rock; and three grandchildren, Anna Mabrey of Tempe, Arizona, and Winston and Carter Fagan of Scottsdale, Arizona.

A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock by Dr. Karen Akin. Private burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 West Markham Street, Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72227, Arkansas Hospice, 2200 Ft. Margaret Sue Evans

Margaret Sue Evans, 81, of Bryant, died icon Sunday, April 20, 2003. She was born icon in Bauxite to Bonnie Robert and Margaret Chambers Little. Mrs. Evans was a retired Medical Secretary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert David Evans and is survived by sons, David H. Evans and wife Margie and Charles T. Evans and wife Sheila. Brother, Charles Little and a Sister-in-law, Lila Little. 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 22, 2003 from 2 to 4 pm. at Ruebel Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be at Life Line Baptist Church at 10 am. Wednesday, April 23, 2003 with interment icon to follow at Pine Crest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Arkansas Kidney Foundation, 4942 W. Markham St. Little Rock, AR. 72205. Arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home.
