in Thornton, Arkansas, Dr. Jones graduated from Fordyce High School in 1933, before graduating from Hendrix college in 1937, and later receiving his medical degree from the University of Arkansas Medical Science Center, 1941. He Interned at Arkansas Baptist Hospital, 1941-1942, before serving in the U.S. Army, 1942-1946. He was attached to the 6th Army Headquarters entering as a 1st Lt. in the medical corp. and discharged as a Major. He served in the Southwest Pacific, Australia, New Guinea, Philippines, and Japan. After the war Bob entered his medical practice in Little Rock in 1946. In that same year he joined Dr. H.G. Hollenberg and after 5 years became his partner for over 30 years. His son John joined the firm in 1979. Bob retired in 1985. He was a member of the Pulaski County Medical Society, Arkansas State Medical Society for 50 years, Arkansas Medical Association, and the Hendrix College Half Century Club. He served as Student Body President of Hendrix College, as well as Student Body President at the University of Arkansas Medical Science Center, served on the Council of the Arkansas State Medical Society, Chief of Staff and board of directors Saint Vincent Infirmary, board of directors of Presbyterian Village, and an Elder of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church. He was a charter member of the Norris Hunting Club located on Big Island in Desha County, and a charter member of the Mozart Hunting Club.
Dr. Jones was married
to Mary Ellen Collier Jones who died in 1959, and presently married
to Lavona Craggs Jones who survives him. He is predeceased by one son Robert D. "Bobby" Jones, who died in 1986, and is survived by 3 sons; Thomas Henry "Tommy" Jones and wife Dee of Little Rock, Dr. John Collier Jones and wife Julie of Little Rock, Fred Gray and wife Toni of Little Rock, 2 daughters; Lavona Russell and husband Clyde of Nashville, Tennessee, Barry Gray and husband Ed of Austin, Texas, 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation held Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the home of Dr. John and Julie Jones, 12 Longfellow Lane, Little Rock, followed Tuesday with a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at Westover Hills Presbyterian Church officiated by Reverends Jim and Debbie Freeman.

Douglas Leroy Johnson
Douglas Leroy Johnson, 80, of Little Rock, went to be with his Lord on Friday, July 4, 2003. He was born
in Gering, NE and during high school joined the U. S. Army. He served in the Aleutian Islands during WWII as a First Sergeant. On December 29, 1949 he and Peggy Jane Hewett were married. After his discharge, he went to watch repair school and moved to Stuttgart where he worked for Denman's Jewelry. In the early 1970's he started Custodian Supply, Inc. retiring in 1992. He was a founding member and one of the first congregational presidents of First Lutheran Church in Little Rock, later he became a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church. He and his wife were members of the Square Rounders Square Dance Club for over forty years. He is survived by his wife, a son, Steven Johnson, a daughter, Pamela Johnson Hooper and her husband, Dr. Sanford Hooper all of Little Rock, a sister, Gladys Stewart of Gering, NE, and granddaughters Michelle Hooper of Little Rock, and Sarah Hooper of Fayetteville.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2003, at Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Jilg officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Yvonne Dell Hylton
Yvonne Dell Hylton of Little Rock, died Sunday, September 14, 2003. She was the daughter of William Wesley Hylton, Jr. and Alladean Delores Corbin Hylton.
Yvonne was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. She graduated from Arkansas Tech and pursued her dream of becoming a social worker. As a child care specialist she dedicated more than three decades to the protection of the least - and the most important - among us: the children.
She is survived by her brother, William Wesley Hylton, III and his wife, Marsha Clark Hylton, two nephews, Brandon Todd Hylton and William Scott Hylton and a grand nephew, Nathaniel Wesley Hylton.
Graveside services will be held at I p.m. Wednesday, September 17th at Riverside Cemetery, Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.

Voss Hutton
Mr. Voss Hutton, age 93 years, of Westerly, Rhode Island, died Monday, May 5th. He was born
November 29, 1909 in Little Rock the son of the late Mabel Voss and M. C. (Pete) Hutton. He attended the University of Arkansas during the Depression years and left before taking a degree to enter the food service distribution business in Toledo, Ohio, dealing in frozen foods. He was recruited by Young & Rubicam in New York to serve as an advertising account executive in this specialized field. He later joined General Foods Corp. in White Plains, New York as Sales Manager of its Birds Eye Division. After moving east, for many years Mr. Hutton made his home in Darien, Connecticut. He was a member of St. Luke's Parish, serving as vestryman and a member of the church's search committee. He was one of the early presidents of the newly-formed Darien Country Club. On retiring from General Foods, Mr. Hutton moved to Westerly, Rhode Island. An enthusiastic gardener and golfer, he was also a member of Christ Church Westerly, serving on their investment committee. He was a SCORE volunteer, a member of the Weekapaug Golf Club and enjoyed an affiliation with the Society of Colonial Wars.
Mr. Hutton was married
72 years to the former Dorothy Taylor of Little Rock, who survives him. Also surviving are three daughters: Cynthia Lafferty of Weekapaug, Rhode Island, Suzanne Hellar of Tacoma, Washington, and Marion (Mimi) Lokkesmoe of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Mr. Hutton is to be scheduled at Christ Church Westerly, Saturday, May 24th at 11am followed by a memorial service in Little Rock at the Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel at 11am, May 27th officiated by The Reverend Rocki Proffitt. Burial of urn will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.

Ethel Bulloch Humphrey
Ethel Bulloch Humphrey, 85, of Little Rock, died Tuesday, October 14, 2003. She was born
September 15, 1918 at Collins, AR. She was the daughter of Hal and Archie Brown Bulloch. She entered Collins Public School and graduated from Drew Central High School in 1937, and from Baptist State Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. Ethel has been a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for 65 years.
Survivors are her husband of 62 years, F. Nolan Humphrey, her daughters, Ann Mode and her husband, Jim of Greenbrier and Caren Sue Franz and her husband, Jay, of Tucson, AZ, grandson James Nolan Mode and his wife, Stephanie of Arlington, TX and two great-granddaughters, Maddie and Emma Ann Mode.
A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Ruebel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel. Interment
will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, Building Fund, or the Arkansas Diabetes Association.

Laura Jean Madison Hummon
Laura Jean Madison Hummon, age 89, of Little Rock, died December 25, 2003. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Byron E. Hummon Sr. in 1998. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to all her family.
She is survived by her two children, Byron E. Hummon Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Kansas, and Donna Ra Duffield and her husband Charlie of Siloam Springs. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Lori, Charyl, Lisa, Charles (Booter), Kevin, Byron, Robert, and Julie, and 6 great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Kansas City. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Little Rock, 1500 North Mississippi, Little Rock, AR 72207.
Laura Woolridge Hopson
Laura Wooldridge Hopson died in a local nursing home on November 22, 2003. She was born
in Little Rock on June 14, 1905, to Robert d'Orsay and Sophia Hotze Wooldridge, both deceased. She was educated in the Little Rock Public Schools, and graduated from Wellesley College. Through Wellesley Alumna affairs, she became a close friend of Madame Chiang Kai-Shek, a friendship lasting a life time. There was a touch of irony in the friendship as her late husband, Colonel William D. Hopson, was an early and distinguished member of the Flying Tigers stationed in China in World War II.
Mrs. Hopson was married
to Colonel-Hopson in the Hotze House where she had resided from birth. She took great pride in the home which was a residential showplace in the early days of Little Rock.
Mrs. Hopson is survived by three nieces of her husband, Marie Taylor and Jane Ward of Little Rock, and Carolyn Rosenfield of River Ridge, Louisiana.
A private family interment
was conducted at Mt. Holly Cemetery, Little Rock, on December 2, 2003. Memorials may be made to Wellesley College, Wellesley, Massachusetts 02482, or to a favorite charity.

Stella L. Hood
Stella L. Hood, 87 of Little Rock, passed away Tuesday (Nov. 25, 2003) at her home. She was born
July 7, 1916, in Jackson, MS to the late George Washington Gardner and Alma Ethel Buntyn Gardner. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. (Bill) Hood. Mrs. Hood was a graduate of Cotton Plant High School and Draughan School of Business. She was president of Hood and Company Real Estate. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church of over 60 years.
She is survived by one daughter, Jean Vernich; one sister, Jewell B. Carlock; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday (Nov. 28, 2003) at Roselawn Cemetery
under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church.
