Daisy Nuckols Aydelott

Daisy Nuckols Aydelott, 88, of Little Rock, died icon Monday, August 9, 2004. She was born icon December 2, 1915, in Tyro, AR to the late John Martin and Gertrude Brown Nuckols.

Mrs. Aydelott was valedictorian of Little Rock Central High School in 1933 and was awarded a full scholarship to Barnard College in New York and to the University of Arkansas. She was a long-time member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Little Rock and a member of its Altar Guild. She implemented and organized the computerized records system at the State Treasurer's Office, where she was head administrator until retirement in 1980.

She is survived by two sons, Alfred Aydelott of Weston, MA, and Martin Aydelott of Minneapolis, MN, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews, and their descendants.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2004, at the Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 310 W. 17th St., Little Rock, AR 72206, or to the American Heart Association, Memorial & Tribute Processing Center, P.O. Box 1653, Topeka, KS 66601-1653.

Judge Richard S. Arnold

Judge Richard S. Arnold, age 68, of Little Rock, died icon Thursday, September 23, 2004 at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. The cause of death was complications from Lymphoma. Judge Arnold had served as a United States Circuit Judge for the Eighth Circuit since March 7, 1980. Before that, he had been a United States District Judge for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas, entering on duty on October 16, 1978. In 1992 Judge Arnold became Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Judge Arnold was born icon March 26, 1936, in Texarkana, Texas. He attended Harvard University once receiving the Fay Diploma, awarded each year to the student with the highest marks in his class. In 1964 he returned to Arkansas and entered the family law firm of Arnold and Arnold, in Texarkana. The church was a big part of Judge Arnold's life. He became a member of the Episcopal Church in 1952. His last membership was at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Little Rock.

Judge Arnold is survived by his wife Kay Kelley Arnold of Little Rock, his brother, Judge Morris Sheppard Arnold and wife Gail, of Little Rock, two daughters; Janet Sheppard Arnold Hart and husband Richard of San Carlos, California, Lydia Palmer Arnold Turnipseed and husband Terry of Syracuse, New York, four grandchildren; Evan Antonio Hart and Saxon McGrath Hart of San Carlos, California and Lucile Mae Turnipseed and Grace Arnold Turnipseed of Syracuse, New York. He is also survived by his cousin, Thomas Saxon Arnold and wife Dolores.

There will be a visitation Monday from 5 to 7pm at Ruebel Funeral Home followed Tuesday at 2 pm with a memorial service at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Burial of ashes will follow at St. Margaret's Episcopal. Funeral services are under he direction of Ruebel Funeral Home..

Robert "Ro" Daniel Anthony

Robert "Ro" Daniel Anthony, age 34, of Little Rock, died. He was born icon in Little Rock, where he graduated from Little Rock Central High School. Ro loved to fish and be around animals. He loved the outdoors as well as playing soccer and baseball. He enjoyed being around people and never met a stranger. He was an excellent craftsman of marble and stone.

Ro is survived by his son Cody Kendall of Little Rock, his father, Robert Henry Anthony and his wife Melissa of Little Rock, his mother Pam Christian and her husband Don of Little Rock, his sister Allison Caldarera and husband Keith of Little Rock, and his grandmother, Ina Lucille Downing of Little Rock.

There will be a memorial service held Wednesday, April 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral officiated by The Very Reverend Henry Hudson.

In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the Kiwanis Activities, Joseph Pfeifer Camp for Youth at Risk, 5512 Ferndale Co, 72208.

Geraldine M. Anderson

Geraldine M. Anderson, age 86, of Little Rock, died icon April 2, 2004.

She retired from Easter Seals Arkansas and was Catholic by faith.

She resided at the Gaines House of Little Rock for over thirty four years.

Graveside services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Ernest Guy Amsler, Jr.

Ernest Guy Amsler, Jr., of Little Rock, passed away on December 25, 2004. He was born icon September 5, 1927, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Ollie Buchanan Sanders and Ernest Guy Amsler, Sr. He attended Little Rock Public Schools and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1944, where he was a member of Delta Sigma fraternity. He graduated from University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a B.A. and the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1950 with a law degree. He was a member of the Omega Omega Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity and a member of the Central Arkansas Chapter of the Sigma Chi Alumni Association.

After serving in the US Navy Air Corps in WWII and US Air Force during the Korean War, in the office of the Judge Advocate, he retired from the USAF Reserve as a Lt. Colonel. He practiced law in Little Rock for 54 years and served as general counsel for the Arkansas Automobile Dealers Association. He was a member of the American Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, and the Pulaski County Bar Association of which he served as President. He served on various committees of the Arkansas Bar including the Board of Law Examiners and was Chairman of the Executive Committee.

Guy was on the Board of the Arkansas Children's Hospital from 1969 until 2001 and was a member of the Board of Goodwill Industries of Arkansas. He served as President of both organizations. As a lifelong member of Pulaski Heights Presbyterian Church, he taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon and an Elder, along with several committees.

He was a member of the Country Club of Little Rock where he was an avid golfer and was active in the "Sunday Golf Group." Guy was an avid Razorback Fan and enjoyed being of part of "The Homecoming Group". He also loved duck hunting at Belcher Lake Farms Duck Club.

Guy married icon Barbara Gene Hencke on June 17, 1951 and was married icon for 53 years. He is survived by two sons, Guy Amsler III of Memphis, TN and Chris Amsler of Little Rock and his wife Pam Amsler, one daughter, Cathy Amsler Rogers of Bentonville, AR and her husband Chris Rogers; five grandchildren, Blake and Logan Amsler of Little Rock and Caty, Christopher and Thomas Guy Rogers of Bentonville, AR; a niece Cindy Tackett Murphy, and great niece, Zoe Murphy of Montrose, CO; an uncle, H. Stanley Amsler of Canton, MS; a stepmother, Mary D. Amsler, of Hendersonville, TN; and a godson Dr. Robert E. Richardson, Jr. of Little Rock.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Ruebel Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, at Pulaski Heights Presbyterian Church with Rev. Floyd Whatley officiating.

Louise West Alston

Louise West Alston, age 96, of Little Rock, widow of Clifford Alston died icon March 29, 2004.

She was a native of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and was a graduate of Auburn University.

She attended graduate school at Cornell University and Auburn University.

She taught in the Little Rock and Alachua County (Florida) school systems and was retired from the latter.

She was a member of the Arkansas Arts Center; Little Rock Chapter of the Book Fellows, First United Methodist Church of Little Rock and United Methodist Women.

She served as a member of the board of Stewards of First United Methodist Church for eight years and former president of the United Methodist Women of Monticello First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

There will a funeral service Thursday at 10am at the Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Reverend Jeannie Burton.

Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Memorials in lieu of flowers should be made to First United Methodist church, Little Rock.

Sharon & Sharie Alexander

In memory of Sharon Denise Hunt Alexander age 39, of Benton, and baby Sharie who died icon Wednesday June 23, 2004. She was a graduate of Cabot High School before working for Aegon, Inc. as a troubleshooter, Sharper Image and was last working with her mother managing the Aromatree Candle Factory in Bryant. She loved her children, family and was very outgoing, never meeting a stranger. She also enjoyed her dolphin collection.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Bret Alexander, of Benton, her mother, Kathy Jean Odom Hunt of Benton two children, Thomas W. Beard of Greenbrier, Kristine L. Beard of Morrilton, four aunts, Mary Bolden of Milton, FL, Marie Barber of Cabot, Betty Reeves of St. Louis, Janette Segrist of N. Little Rock, two uncles, A.W. "Buddy" Hunt of Sherwood, Doyl Odom of Cabot and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. at the Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in New Rosemont Cemetery, Benton.

Edward Lee Alexander

Edward Lee Alexander, 90, of Little Rock, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2004 at Presbyterian Village.

Some men are broken by hard circumstances and some rise to overcome them. Edward was an overcomer who became the chief provider for his family at the tender age of 13 following his fatheršs death.

He was born icon in Gilmer, Texas on June 24, 1914 to the late Randle and Elsie Matthews Alexander. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, where he helped organized the Wednesday Domino Group. He worked as a route salesman and retired from the Wonder Potato Chip Company.

His parents, 10 brothers and sisters and his wife of more than 50 years, Hazel Fureigh Alexander, preceded him in death. His love for Hazel was evident as he tirelessly cared for her during her twenty-year battle with Alzheimeršs. True to form Edward would not give up or give in until she was ready to go. She died icon in his arms.

Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Jenkins and husband Vernon of Oakland, Tennessee; a son, Randy Alexander and wife Gy of Little Rock; a sister, Claudie Bruce of Marshall, Texas; three grandchildren, Jason Jenkins of Memphis, Kristi Alexander of Little Rock, and Scott Jenkins of Arlington, Tennessee; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 4, 2004 in the Chapel of Ruebel Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery. Visitation is 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 9820 West Markham, Little Rock, 72205; or to Presbyterian Village, 510 Brookside, Little Rock, 72205.
