Frances A. Whitener
Frances A. Whitener, 96, of Little Rock died Thursday, March 29, 2001. She was born
in Carthage, AR, one of thirteen children born
to Walter and Mary Frances Williams. She was married
to Robert Whitener who preceded her in death. Mrs. Whitener was a member of the Crystal Hill Baptist Church and loved the out-of-doors, especially hunting.
She is survived by two grandsons, Robert Elliott, of Nashville, TN and John Whitener and his wife Kristen of Little Rock and one great-granddaughter, Kaycie Whitener, one son-in-law Raymond Adams of Augusta, GA, a daughter-in-law, Brenda Whitener of Little Rock, two step-granddaughters, Kelly Mayhue of Ft. Smith and Carla Sanders of Rogers and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by two daughters, Fran Adams and Margie Elliott and a son, Russ Whitener.
A visitation will be held from 5-7p.m. Friday at the Ruebel Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at the Ruebel Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, officiated by Rev. Larry Ballard. Burial will be in the Pinecrest Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to "Our Vision" c/o Crystal Hill Baptist Church, 18823 Crystal Valley Rd. Little Rock, 72210. Margaret Harris Whitehead
Margaret Harris Whitehead, age 88 of Little Rock, died Wednesday, September 12, 2001. She was born
in Warren Arkansas the daughter of the late John Wesley and Maymie Farrell Harris. Margaret graduated from Mount Saint Mary Academy later marrying James Benjamin Whitehead who died in 1980. During her active years Margaret and her husband owned and operated the Whitehead Plumbing and Heating Company in Montgomery, Alabama.
She is survived by her daughter Jaylene Whitehead Butler and husband Frank of Little Rock, one grandson Jason Boodoian and wife Devon, and one great-granddaughter. Mrs. Whitehead was the niece of the late Mattie Lou Harris Wentz and Chick Harris of Warren.
There will be a formal visitation Friday from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Ruebel Funeral Home followed by a graveside service Saturday at 1 P.M. at the Oakland Cemetery
in Warren, Arkansas officiated by Reverend Wayman Mann. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation.
William John (Bill) Glasscock, Jr.
William John (Bill) Glasscock, Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away Monday, October 3, 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila, sons Billy Glasscock and daughter-in-law, Robyn of Little Rock, Tim Glasscock and daughter-in-law, Debbie of Conway, Dennis Glasscock and partner, Skip of Little Rock and daughter, Jennifer Simmons and son-in-law, Scott of Little Rock. He is also survived by his sisters, Frances Whitfield of Jonesboro, Virginia Martin of Cabot, June McClellan of Maumelle, Gene Rundle of Little Rock, and his grandchildren, Timothy Glasscock, John and Jessica Simmons, Will Glasscock, and great grandchild Eli Stockton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A prominent figure in the Little Rock area, Bill was known not only for his work in the trade show and meeting industry, but for civic activities and his work as an actor in theatre, television and movies. He was past president and respected member of the Little Rock downtown Kiwanis Club and attended St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for over 40 years.
Visitation will be at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock on Friday, October 7, from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Memorial services will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Little Rock on Saturday, October 8, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joseph Pfeiffer Camp and St. Frances House Mission of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Mary Ann Mashek Whitbey
Mary Ann Mashek Whitbey, age 54, of Little Rock died Saturday February 24, 2001. She was born
in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of the late Rudolph Mashek and her mother Anna Elizabeth Barborek Mashek who lives in Little Rock. Mrs. Whitbey was raised in Little Rock and after high school she attended cosmetology school. She later became a secretary for the Democrat Printing and Lithographing Company for over 15 years. She was also a patient care technician at the Bridgeway Hospital. Mrs. Whitbey was a volunteer with St. Vincent Auxiliary, and Regional AIDS Interfaith Network. She was member of Christ The King Catholic Church.
She is survived by one son Stanley G. Whitbey of Little Rock and partner Craig Murders, one daughter Amy E. Newsom of North Little Rock and husband Kevin, and one grandson, Jacob Newsom.
There will be a Vigil 7:00 P.M. Monday at Ruebel Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at Christ The King Catholic Church at 10 A.M. Tuesday, February 27th., officiated by Monsignor Gaston Hebert. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.

Edward John Erxleben
Edward John Erxleben, age 77, died on October 2, 2011. Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on December 15, 1933, he was the son of Edward and Eve Erxleben. Upon graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1951, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, beginning his service during the Korean War. Edward married
Gwyneth Vera Atkinson on September 3, 1954, after a whirlwind romance. The couple traveled extensively throughout Edward’s military career, living in such diverse locales as South Dakota, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Texas, California, Mississippi, Wisconsin, New York and Great Britain.
Edward was selected for the USAF Officer Candidate School and commissioned Lieutenant in 1961. He was a Guidance Office in the Atlas Missile Program in Nebraska and was a Launch Enabling Officer in the Titan Missile Program at the Little Rock Air Force Base. He later served both the Titan and Minuteman systems. In his military career, he worked on both public and classified programs and was instrumental in exploring and developing private inventions and developments for military application. He was a distinguished war veteran who volunteered to serve in the Viet Nam War, explaining that it was his duty as a soldier. During his service, Edward became a licensed pilot, enjoying the adventure, freedom and occasional mishap of flight, generating material for hours upon hours of good stories.
Upon his retirement in 1972 from the Air Force as a Major with two commendation medals, Edward moved his family back to Little Rock, where he joined the Purchasing Department of the Department of Finance and Administration of the State of Arkansas. He later moved to the Purchasing Department of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. In 1981, he was appointed Director of State Purchasing by Governor Frank White. He held this position until his retirement in 2000, serving at the pleasure of four governors representing both political parties. He was a mentor to many and the epitome of integrity to all who knew him. The community of public servants with whom Edward worked at local, state, national and even international levels recognized him as a leader in ethical behavior, sensible practices and public service.
As a family man, Edward was active at home and in the activities and interests of his family. Edward shared his passion for British sports cars, a good game of chess, a fine glass of wine, an exciting football game, an excellent book, a day of fishing or hunting, the use and care of a well-crafted firearm, and a purposefully stocked tool chest, with his daughters, his grandchildren and close friends.
Mr. Erxleben is survived by Gwyneth Erxleben, his wife of fifty-seven years; daughter, Laurie Diane Cain; daughter, Jennifer Rogers; six grandchildren, Jonathan W. Cain, Kelly Cain, and Reagan Cain, and Paul Rogers, III, Edward “Jack” Rogers, and Henry “Hank” Rogers; brother Robert (Lanie) Erxleben of Keller, Texas; and sister, Betty (Frank) Gasiorowski, of Watchung, New Jersey.
A memorial service will be held at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church ((501-821-1311), 20900 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas on October 8, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Theessa Katheryn Cook
Theessa Katheryn Cook, 85 of North Little Rock, died Monday, February 2, 2002. Born in Little Rock, she was a retired secretary for Fones Brothers Stores.
Survivors are a sister-in-law Virginia S. Cook of North Little Rock, and nephew, Danny Cook and wife Sandra of Little Rock.
There will be a graveside service today, Wednesday, at Roselawn Cemetery

Tracy Darrel Chandler, 37, of Little Rock, died Wednesday, November 20. He is survived by his mother Thelma Johnson Chandler, son Ozear Chandler, two sister-in-laws, Lena and Debbie, 8 sisters, 5 brothers, and a host of relatives. A funeral service Monday at 11 A.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery

Bobby Carter
Bobby Carter, age 80, retired Major, United States Marine Corp, of Little Rock, died Thursday, August 1, 2002. He was born
in Hutchinson, Kansas where he graduated from high school. In 1942 he joined the United States Marines Corp receiving his wings from aviation cadet school. He first flew single and twin engine aircraft and later jets. He served in World War II and the Korean War where he flew in and out of the Chosen Reservoir. After retiring from serving in the Marines in 1964 Bob received a degree in Forestry Services from the University of New Hampshire. He then worked for 10 years with the Utah State Forestry Service, moving to Little Rock in 1976, where he enjoyed golf and fishing.
He is survived by Nita Atkinson-Carter of Little Rock, two stepchildren Nathan E. Atkinson of Little Rock, Robert P. Atkinson and wife Linda of Benton, Arkansas, one nephew Bruce Wheat of Bennington, Vermont, one niece Linda McClentic of Rockland, Massachusetts, and predeceased by a sister Betty Wheat.
There will be a visitation Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 P.M. at Ruebel Funeral Home. There will be a graveside funeral service at 12 noon Monday at the Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery, North Little Rock. Arrangements under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.

Michele H. Brunner
Michele H. Brunner, 55, of Little Rock died Tuesday, June 18, in Memphis. She was born
in Corpus Christi, TX . She was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and received her Masters Degree in social work from the University of Arkansas Little Rock. She was a primary therapist at Arkansas Behavioral Health Care and was an Episcopalian.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-four years, Rob Brunner, one son, Jason Brunner, two brothers, and six sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Pulley.

Joseph Wesley Brown
Joseph Wesley Brown, age 76, of Little Rock, past Chairman of the Board of AFCO Steel, and AFCO Metals, died Wednesday, December 3, 2002. Born in Little Rock, he was a graduate Sewanee Academy before attending the University of Colorado. Before graduating from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a degree in Mechanical Engineering he joined the Navy serving during World War II. He was also a past board member of Commercial National Bank, and City of Little Rock Board of Directors. Joseph was an avid golfer and duck hunter with memberships at the Country Club of Little Rock, and Dog Island Duck Club. He also enjoyed spending weekends with his family at their summer home on Lake Hamilton. Joseph was the devoted head of a close knit extended family who greatly loved and respected him.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Thompson Brown of Little Rock, his brother Fred I. Brown and wife Patricia of Little Rock, two sons Joseph Willis Brown and wife Laurie of Olympia, Washington, Gilroy Brown and wife Patty of Searcy, three daughters; Josephine Osborne and husband Jim of Little Rock, Sarah Hopkins and husband Randy of Little Rock, Abigail Whiton Brown of Chicago, Illinois, and 6 grandchildren; Virginia and Henry Osborne, Catherine and Beth Hopkins; and Josh Brown, and Tracie Bartlett and husband Chance of Searcy. He is also predeceased by a granddaughter, Frances Hopkins. There will be a memorial service Thursday, at 11 A.M. at Our Lady of The Holy Souls Catholic Church officiated by Monsignor David le Sieur and Reverend Phillip Panackal. Burial of ashes will follow at Calvary Cemetery
under the direction Ruebel Funeral Home.
