George H. Klauder

George H. Klauder, age 58, of Little Rock, died icon March 10, 2004 after a difficult recovery from a liver transplant. He was born icon on September 25, 1945 in Hopewell, VA. He graduated from Grady High School in Atlanta, GA, and attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He was a United States Air Force Veteran where he served in the Tet Offensive during Vietnam. George worked for the US Department of HUD as a Real Estate Appraiser and Multi-Family Cost Analyst from 1968 to 1985. George then opened his own Real Estate company; George Klauder and Assoc., Inc., doing what he loved best, appraising Real Estate. George was a Certified Real Estate Appraiser, a member of the Independent Fee Appraisers, a licensed Real Estate Agent, and a lifetime member of The American Legion. His hobbies included riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family, and traveling. He especially enjoyed his last trip to Samoa and New Zealand.

He is survived by his wife of eleven years, Beth Gossett Klauder; two sons, Thomas Klauder of Fayetteville, AR, Marcus Beasley of Pensacola, FL; six daughters Janet Klauder Mizer of Loudon, TN, Heather Davis of Jonesboro, AR., Amber Smith, Kaitlyn, Olivia, and Daisey Grace Klauder all of Little Rock; five grandsons, George and Lance Mizer, A.J. and Ethan Davis, and Cheyton Beasley; one granddaughter Kelsey Davis and another granddaughter due in June, Anecia Smith. He is also survived by his brothers Michael Klauder and his wife Gloria of Cleveland, MS, and Thomas Klauder and his wife Sandy of Canton, MS. A special friend and first wife, Lois Klauder of Loudon, TN, also survives him.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Lela H. Kessler

Lela H. Kessler, 97, of Little Rock, Arkansas, died icon Monday, December 13, 2004. She was born icon September 21, 1907, in Hartford, Kentucky, to the late Rev. John Hamilton and Beecher Ambrose Hamilton. She was also preceded in death by one brother, McDowell Hamilton; and her husband, E. Marshall Kessler, to whom she was married icon on March 21, 1937. She was a 1930 graduate of Logan College in Russellville, Kentucky. Mrs. Kessler was an elementary school teacher for almost 40 years.

She is survived by her son, Warren Kessler of Roland, Arkansas; three grandsons, Shawn, Todd and Jeremy Kessler; and one great-granddaughter, Madelle Kessler.

There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2004, at Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, Kentucky, followed by a graveside service at 1 p.m. (2 p.m. Eastern) Thursday at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens in Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Joanne Kastel

Joanne Kastel, 84, of Little Rock, went to meet the Lord Friday, October 8, 2004. She was born icon February 4, 1920, in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Michael and Domicella Dansevicius Stulga. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Kastel.

Joanne was an avid golfer in her younger years. She spent her retired years traveling the world, shopping for bargains, and enjoying the company of friends and family. Holidays were always a favorite time for Joanne. She enjoyed nothing more than having all of her family gathered together, sharing stories and making memories. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by one son, Bruce Kastel of Little Rock; one daughter, Debbie Gudith and her husband Roger of Little Rock; and four grandchildren, Renee Allen, Jaime Mitchell Hill, Candice Kastel and Tate Mitchell.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at the church. Monsignor Francis Malone will say the mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 N. University Ave., Little Rock, 72203 or to Baptist Hospice, 11900 Col. Glenn Rd., Little Rock, 72210.

Leone "Babe" Bellingrath Jones

Leone (Babe) Bellingrath Jones, of Little Rock, and a descendant of an early Arkansas family died icon Monday, December 20, 2004. She was born icon September 1, 1926 in Little Rock, the daughter of the late Carl Newton and Leone Umsted Bellingrath. She graduated from Little Rock High and attended Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, VA. She was active in cultural and charitable organizations for many years. She served as an officer and on the board of the Jr. League and the boards of the Speech Correction School, and the Working Women's Home. She was a member of the Arkansas Pioneers Association of Pulaski County, the Fine Arts Club of Arkansas, the Country Club of Little Rock and Christ Episcopal Church.

Babe was the widow of Tracy Duncan Jones and is survived by their beloved children, Tracy Duncan Jones, Jr. and his wife, Suzette, Curtis Carl Jones and his wife, Mary, all of Little Rock and grandchildren, Tracy D. Jones, III Carrie Jones, Murdock Jones and Sarah Price Jones.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Thursday, December 23 at Christ Episcopal Church. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to either Christ Episcopal Church, the Humane Society of Pulaski County or a favorite charity. Arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home.

W. Horace Jewell

W. Horace Jewell, age 84, of Little Rock, died icon on Saturday, September 18, 2004, the sixtieth anniversary of his marriage to Irma Murphy Jewell. He was born icon on December 16, 1919 in Hope, AR, to the late Albert T. and Eliza Winn Jewell. Mr. Jewell received his law degree from the University of Arkansas and began practicing law with the Little Rock firm of House, Moses and Holmes in 1944. His clients included Terry Dairy, Terminal Warehouse, Batesville White Lime, Moon Distributors, Southwest Hotels, and Arkansas Power and Light Co. He served as senior partner for his firm until his retirement in 1987.

Mr. Jewell is survived by his wife Irma; children, Anne Jewell and Louis Ederington of Norman, OK, Judith K. Jewell of Little Rock, Rebecca Jewell and Richard Engborg of Asbury, NJ, Joseph Winn and Jan Bratton Jewell of Pittsburg, TX, and John Mason and Mallory VanDover Jewell of Little Rock; two brothers, Albert T. Jewell, Jr. of Springdale, AR, and Wilton G. Jewell of Fort Worth, TX. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Benjamin and Josh Ederington, Emily Penfield, David Freeman, Amanda Engborg, Matt and Ryan Jewell, and Mason and Emma Jewell, and four great-grandchildren, Caroline, Katherine, Sam and Eliza. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Winn Jewell, three infant children, and a grandson, Andrew.

Mr. Jewell was a member of First United Methodist Church for sixty years and served on the Administrative Board. His large extended family was an important part of his life.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 20th at the First United Methodist Church, Little Rock, with the Rev. Emily Freeman Penfield, the Rev. David Freeman, and the Rev. Dr. Michael Mattox officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The First United Methodist Church, 8th and Center Street, Little Rock, AR 72201, or to the Gertrude Remmel Butler Child Development Center, 8th and Spring Street, Little Rock 72201.

Charles Alston Jennings Sr.

A memorial service for Charles Alston Jennings Sr. will be held Thursday, January 22nd, at 4:00 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church officiated by The Reverend Larry Benefield.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.

Nora Marlar Jackson

Nora Marlar Jackson of Little Rock, died icon Monday, Dec. 27, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce S. Jackson of Camden, and her parents Mr. and Mrs. Steve Marlar of Falcon, Arkansas. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mable Cook of Brandon, Mississippi, and Mrs. Glen Martin of Cabot, Arkansas, two nephews, Toby Cook of Brandon, Mississippi and Robert Wayne Martin of Cabot, Arkansas, two nieces, Gail Cook of Stamps, Arkansas and Dr. Glenora McCoy of Kennesaw, Georgia.

Mrs. Jackson was a member of Sixth and Izard Church of Christ. She was retired as an administrator from the Little Rock School District after fifty years of work at the time of her retirement. She received the first outstanding award given an administrator by the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce. She had been the principal at Wilson School for seventeen years at the time of her retirement in 1987. She received her B.A. Degree from Henderson State College in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and her Master's and Ed.S. Degrees from Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee. She had additional hours from the U. of A. in Fayetteville, Arkansas and LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

While teaching high school in Camden, she organized a drill team of girls to perform during the half time for football games and other occasions. They were one of the first in South Arkansas and are still active.

Mrs. Jackson was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Woman's City Club, KKI, Retired Teachers Associations, Departmental Club, Arkansas Bicentennial ABWA, and ACEI. Acting as president of Alpha Mu, D.K.G., Woman's City Club, Razorback Chapter of ABWA and ACEI locally.

Mrs. Jackson shared her home many times with individuals who had relatives in hospitals in Little Rock, from her hometown in Falcon. She made Christmas gifts for young children in Stamps and in Falcon in memory of Nora Etta Smith of Buckner, Arkansas. She will be remembered for many years for her many other acts of kindness.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home on Markham St. in Little Rock. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30 in the Chapel of Ruebel Funeral Home, officiated by John Gipson, followed by a 3 p.m. graveside service in Camden Memorial Park in Camden, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to Falcon Church of Christ, 2764 Highway 53, Rosston, Arkansas 71858, or the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.

Jimmie Louise Williams Hughes

Jimmie Louise Williams Hughes, age 78, widow of Howard Hughes, died icon Saturday, March 20, 2004. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Frank Thompson of Mabelvale, Arkansas; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Donna Hughes of Chicago, Illinois; and four grandchildren, Scott Thompson and Brandy Thompson of Mabelvale, Arkansas; Chris Hughes of Redondo Beach, California; and Clay Hughes of Little Rock, Arkansas, currently serving with the 39th Enhanced Brigade.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24 at the Pulaski Heights Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Pulaski Heights Baptist Church Young at Heart Program.

Nelson Eddy Huey

Nelson Eddy Huey, age 65, of Little Rock, died icon Wednesday, February 11th, 2004. Nelson was born icon in El Dorado, Arkansas, where he graduated from high school before his graduation from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he was a Razorback cheerleader. He was a devoted member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. After school Nelson became a member of the Chicago Board of Trade where he spent 30 years as a soybean trader in the "Soybean Pit". A proclaimed "Yellow Dog Democrat", Nelson was a life long duck hunter often praised for his expert calling ability, and loved Crappie and Bream fishing, the horse races, and playing golf at the Country Club of Little Rock. All of these activities were dear to his heart but the most dear of all were his six loved and adored grandchildren.

Nelson is predeceased by his parents, and a brother Don Huey, and is survived by his wife of 13 years, Susan Linebarger Huey of Little Rock, two step-sons Ford Overton and wife Stephanie, Warren Overton and wife Heather all of Little Rock, and his grandchildren; Sophie Corinne Overton, Molly Elizabeth Overton, Meredith Payne Overton, Olivia Ann Overton, Warren William Overton, and Susan Sarah Overton.

There will be a visitation Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home, followed Friday with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church officiated by Reverend Jeannie Burton. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to "Lift Program" at First United Methodist Church, 723 Center Street, Little Rock 72201, or Sigma Chi Fraternity, Omega Omega Chapter, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
