William Whitmire
William Ellis Whitmire, 81, of Conway, Arkansas, died Monday, May 3, 2004. He was born
October 9, 1922, in Red Star, AR, to the late William Warren and Edna Mae McFarland Whitmire. He was a World War II Navy veteran and was retired from Hazard Construction in San Diego as an operating engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Whitmire; adopted son, Steve "Willie" Whitmire of San Diego; and sister, Marie Brown of Morrow, Ohio.
Cremation arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home.
Kathleen Clark Whiteman
Kathleen Clark Whiteman, of Little Rock, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2004 at Woodland Hills Healthcare after a short illness.
Mrs. Whiteman was born
in Guntersville, Alabama, the daughter of Andrew Lee and Alta Lois Fowler Clark. As a youth, Kathleen and her family also lived in Little Rock and Dallas, Texas. She excelled in academics and was salutatorian of her class at Woodrow Wilson High School. She attended the University of Texas, where she majored in journalism and roomed with her future sister-in-law, Martha Whiteman. Through her, Kathleen met Thomas D. "T.D." Whiteman, who she married
on September 1, 1939.
Kathleen and T.D. were active in the Little Rock community. Kathleen was a realtor, who twice achieved the Million Dollar Roundtable. She was an active and supportive member of several organizations, including the Twentieth Century Club and the Departmental Club. Kathleen was also an avid supporter of the Little Rock School District, where she served in various leadership roles of the PTAs of several schools for over thirty years. Central to Kathleen and T.D.'s lives was their service to Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, their long-time church home. Kathleen was a long time children's Sunday School teacher, Circle member and participated in various other church activities. In later years, she and T.D. were blessed to be a part of the church's Butler Sunday School class, where they enjoyed many activities with long time, cherished friends.
Kathleen was predeceased by her husband, T.D., her parents and her brother, Bill S. Clark. She is survived by her children: Pat Myers (Frank); Susan Hestir (Gary); Linda Brown (Bill) and Holly Mathisen (Mark); her grandchildren: Blake Hestir, Jenna Hestir ____, 2nd Lt. Mark Myers, Jason Myers, Ellis, Scott McGehee, Hill Mathisen and Clayton Mathisen. She also is survived by many dear and special nieces, nephews and her wonderful great-grandchildren: Mark "Chip", Nicholas and Clare Myers and Milo and Eli McGehee. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park officiated by Reverend Lynn Lindsey of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, CARTI or a charity of choice.
Doyle L. Waring
Doyle L. Waring, age 87, of Little Rock, passed away on March 6, 2004. He worked for many years in the LP Gas industry. He was a World War II Pilot and a member of The Air Force Reserve. He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Eva Sullivan Waring, two daughters, Eva Beth Trumbower, (William) of Columbia, MO. And Joan Whitlock, (George) of Fort Worth, TX; three grandsons, Chris Davis (Valarie) of Benton, Brad Davis of Fort Worth, TX, William Trumbower (Eliza) of Columbia, Missouri; two granddaughters, Elisabeth Trumbower, San Francisco, CA, and Amanda Short (Rusty) of Little Rock;one great-grandson, Cooper Davis of Benton; one brother, Roy Waring of Memphis, TN; four sisters, Inez Hall, Emma Andrews, Maxine Hurley of Searcy, AR, and twin sister, Dorothy Bevans of Little Rock.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
John Fulton Ward
John Fulton Ward departed this earthly life September 25, 2004, after a brief illness. He was born
July 28, 1934 to Jasper "Buster" and Beatrice Ward in Clarksville, AR. He graduated from the College of the Ozarks in 1960 with a B.A in Arts. John, a U.S. Navy veteran, was a very accomplished award winning cameraman and producer/director for several Little Rock television stations (KARK-Ch. 4 for 25 years and KLRT-Ch. 16 for 10 years) and a production company (Ron Sherman Advertising). He loved to be outdoors, especially going to his cabin up on Sylamore Creek, and being a wonderful father to his children.
John's parents precede him in death. His children, Sean and his wife Lynne, and Kathleen Ward survive him. Two grandchildren, Ian and Jackson Ward, who will miss their "Papa John" very much, also survive him. The family would like to thank Dr. C. Lowry Barnes, Dr. J. Lynn Davis, Dr. Delilah Easum and the nurses and staff of St. Vincent's 2NW.

In accordance with his wishes, John will be cremated. Karen Roberta Walter
Karen Roberta Walter, age 46, of Little Rock, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004, in Memphis, at the William Bowlds Hospital. Karen was born
in Little Rock, where she attended school. In 1979, she attended Golden Eagle School of Riding in Dalton, Pennsylvania. Upon her return to Little Rock, Karen spent many years in horse management, giving riding lessons to many adults and children. Karen also spent time as a caregiver for home bound elderly people.
She is predeceased by her father, Eugene Joseph Walter, who died in 2000, and is survived by her mother Jacqueolyn Smith Walter of Little Rock, her step-mother Beth Walter of Little Rock, her special friend, James Paul Fagan, of Little Rock, two aunts; Carolyn Smith Finley of Anchorage, Alaska, Mary Margaret Schmidt and husband Rudy of Kansas City, Missouri, one uncle Harry Walter also of Kansas City, Missouri, and a host of family and friends.
There will be a memorial funeral service Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel.

Polly R. Wahlquist
Polly R. Wahlquist, 76, of Little Rock, and widow of Woody Wahlquist died Thursday, October 14, 2004. She was born
in Huntsville, AR, to Frank and Bertha Garrett Rice. Polly was a member of the Bess Chisum YWCA where she enjoyed water aerobics. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and a member of the choir. She loved caring for the flowers and plants in her yard.
Survivors include her three daughters; Debra Frye and her husband Stuart, Diane Wahlquist and her husband Antonio Mesa and Demaris Jones and her husband Jeff and their daughter, Deanna, all of Little Rock. She is also survived by two sister-in-laws, Lorene Wahlquist of Little Rock and Carolyn Wahlquist of Heber Springs, nephews, John Chappelle and Grady Wahlquist other nieces, nephews, cousins, a very special cousin, Liz Lindsay and best friend and neighbor, Kathleen Reed. She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Chappelle and a brother, Maurice Rice.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Ruebel Funeral Home followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke United Methodist Church with burial to follow in National Cemetery.

Keith Vinsonhaler
Keith Vinsonhaler, age 72, of Little Rock, passed away Sunday morning [17 Oct 2004]. He was born
in Little Rock, on August 15, 1932 to Janet and Sheldon Vinsonhaler.
He began a career in theater in Chicago, in 1953. He also worked in radio and as a producer/associate producer of over 300 television shows for Universal Studios.
His mother and father, Janet and Sheldon Vinsonhaler, and his sister, Jancy Vinsonhaler preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Katy Vinsonhaler and her two children, Larry Brewer and Sandy Harris and her husband E.J., as well as five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. They all reside in Little Rock.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 19, 2004 in the chapel of Ruebel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to your favorite charity.
Roy C. Turner
Roy C. Turner, age 80, of Little Rock, died Monday, October 25, 2004. He was born
on September 3, 1924, to Roy C. and Pearl (White) Turner in Lonoke, AR. Mr. Turner was an investment banker and securities trader for over 40 years, having retired from Stephens Inc. in 1987 where he was Vice President and Head of Equity Trading.
Mr. Turner was a WWII veteran of the US Army serving in Europe, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Upon his return to Arkansas, at the war's end he graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. An avid world traveler and lover of good food and fine wines, Roy also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his late father-in-law, Thomas O. Mabry of Okolona, MS, and his son and grandsons.
Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marjorie Janet Kelley of St. Louis, Mr. Turner is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Betty Mabry Turner of Little Rock, his son and daughter-in-law, Roy "Te" and Kathleen Turner of Austin, TX, a daughter-in-law, Brenda M. Turner of Little Rock, three grandsons, Alan Turner of Memphis, TN, Brendan Turner of Blacksburg, VA, and Chris Griffin of Austin, and his devoted housekeeper JoAnn Watson.
The family wishes to invite Roy's friends to attend a festive gathering in celebration of his life at his home in Little Rock on Wednesday, October 27th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
