Baxter (Bill) Seigler
Baxter (Bill) Vollie Seigler, aged 86, resident of Cove, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999 at the Life Care Center of Plano in Plano, Tex.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1 in Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Cove with Bro. Charles Clem officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Grove cemetery in Cove under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home in Mena.
He was born Sept. 11, 1913 in Vandervoort; was a timberman and logger working for Eugene Stevenson Lumber Company of Hatton and Lewis Lumber Company in Cove; attended Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church of Cove and was a member of the adult men's Sunday school class. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Leone Fortner Seigler in Feb. 12, 1999; his parents, James S. Seigler and Margaret M. Liner Seigler; two brothers, G.W. and Dean Seigler; and two sisters, Idell Seigler Towry and Norma Seigler.
He is survived by two daughters, Jacque R. Seigler Lytle of Dallas, Tex., and Juanelle Seigler Kopp of Austin, Tex.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Harold Leroy Mooneyham
Harold Leroy Mooneyham, aged 49, resident of Horatio, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999 in Brookewood Nursing Center in De Queen.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2 in Horatio cemetery with Rev. Fred Smith officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
He was born Feb. 17, 1950 in Horatio; was an employee of Pilgrim's Pride; and a Methodist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Lawrence and Nettie Ross Mooney ham; one brother, Benney Mooneyham; and a nephew.
He is survived by two brothers, Glen Mooneyham and Gilbert Mooneyham, both of Horatio; two sisters, Helen Gatlin of De Queen and Linda Jean Carrell of Lockesburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Pauline Meredith
Mrs. Pauline Luttrell Meredith, aged 84, resident of De Queen, died Friday, Oct. 29, 1999 in Brookewood Nursing Center in De Queen.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2 in Redmen cemetery with Rev. Faron Rogers officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
She was born Feb. 8, 1915 in Gillham; was a homemaker and a clerk; and a Docent at the Sevier County Historical Museum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Meredith in 1993.
She is survived by two daughters, Nita Johnson of Houston, Tex., and Charlotte Haravey of Pasadena, Tex.; two sisters, Sybil Brewster of Hayward, Calif., and Mary E. Trimble of Tullahoma, Tenn.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Marlin Allen
Marlin Allen, aged 73, resident of Dierks, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999 in Christus St. Michael Health Care Center in Texarkana.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999 in First Assembly of God Church in Dierks with Rev. Henry Bateman and Rev. Don Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Green's Chapel cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
He was born Oct. 5, 1926 in Dierks and was the son of Buddy and Lena Allen. He was an Army veteran of World War II; a member of First Assembly of God Church of Dierks; and a Mason. He worked as a boiler operator for Dierks Lumber Company; was a logger, and a farmer and rancher having owned a chicken and cattle farm.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Wilson Allen; three sons, Marlin Allen Jr., Ray Allen and Randy Allen, all of Dierks; one daughter, Thresa Thomas of Glenwood; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1 at the funeral home.
Alford Leroy Shelton
Alford Leroy Shelton, aged 63, resident of Vandervoort, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999 in the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Little Rock.
A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 in Grannis cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
He was born Aug. 20, 1936 in Shawnee, Okla.; and was a retired Master Sergeant having served in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Irmgard Giagl Shelton; two brothers, Wayne Shelton of Cove and Earl Shelton of Shawnee, Okla.; three sisters, Lillian King of De Queen, Anna Belle Jennings of Salinas, Calif., and Lucille Graham of Laguna Woods, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Bert Richard Sechrist
Bert Richard Sechrist, age 90, resident of Dierks, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000 in the VA Hospital in Little Rock.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28 in Fort Sill Military cemetery at Ft. Sill, Okla., under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
He was born June 5, 1909 at Lugert, Okla.; was a locksmith; and a Catholic. He retired from the U.S. Army having served in World War II and Korea, was a POW, and a deputy for the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department.
He is survived by one son, Gary Sechrist of Dierks; one sister, Laura Williams of Oklahoma City, Okla.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mildred Faye Bismark
Mrs. Mildred Faye Thornton Bismark, age 79, resident of Hatton, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000 in Mena Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 29 in Rock Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Ross Williams officiating. Burial followed in Oddfellows Section of Lockesburg cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home of De Queen.
She was born Oct. 10, 1920 at Lockesburg; was a homemaker; and a member of First Baptist Church of Vandervoort.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Bismark of Hatton; one brother, Alton Thornton of Lockesburg; one sister, Jean Killian of De Queen; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A.D. Monroe III
A.D. Monroe III, age 54, resident of De Queen, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000 at his home.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1 in Redmen cemetery with Rev. Eddie Schlinker officiating, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
He was born Monday, April 23, 1945 in Sacramento, Calif. to A.D. Monroe Jr. and Bette Leier Monroe; was a 1963 graduate of De Queen High School; a Corporal (E-4) with the 5th Marine Division in Vietnam; and an employee of Pilgrim's Pride for 14 years.
He is survived by his mother, Bette Monroe of De Queen; two sisters, Donna Long of Pensa-cola, Fla., and Vicky Ozment of Fayetteville; three nieces; and one nephew.
